Hey thanks for checking out some of my home repair projects the last couple weeks! We’re starting back into the Nantahala Retreat Videos on Sunday so stay tuned for that!
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers I love that you glossed right over the "help ray out" part LMAO. I'm sure you do though- you guys are great bosses and great friends too no doubt.
@4:25 Said every builder when doing a personal project and a size is a bit off"...I think it looks good, I think we just leave it" 😂 But yeah, it does look great!
They have deck systems for two story decks where the ceiling of the first floor serves as your gutter system. So that the water drains into under ground pipe and the first floor stays dry. But you can fyi it and run curragated metal on ceiling on a slope to drain into gutters. Bit that is one nice size deck. Good for you bub 💯👍😎🇺🇸💥
That's par for the course in Haywood....Carpeted Decks 🤔 Must be a Floridian thang 😝 Reminds me of a nightmare we encountered on Utah Mtn and then another in Eagle's Nest. Looking Good Fellows 💪
5:45 It’s called ‘Burning an Inch’ and usually you just start at the 1” line and then add an inch to your overall measurement. Starting at the 10” mark works equally as well.
You could make a school out of your youtube videos. It helps me learn a lot than I'm on my college. Typical construction site is chaotic for me but yours looks fun.
Oh oh a carpet on the timber construction with out a roof is not a good idea. The carpet to take the water on and the wood to begin to mould and you must great repair. The video is very instructive. Against what skilled. Tanks for my 🇦🇹
@@2004jessiehs if you paint in the sun,the paint dries too fast, literally seconds,if that happens and you overlap, guess what happens. You get stripes and small pieces of dry paint on the new paint. You end up with clumps all over. Also an unprofessional look. When painting inside,I close the windows and doors for the same reasons.Open them only when I am done. The small things make the difference between a job well done vs here,it’s done, now pay me
Milwaukee or Dewalt? What's the preference for the Perkins crew? Have seen you guys using both in the videos. I have Dewalt batteries but picked up an adapter off Amazon so I can used Dewalt batteries with the 18g Milwaukee. Can't decide on the framing nailer yet?
"Bought not built" lol. Use rake metal or longer drip metal to cover that seem too. I notch the post. I hate have to fix bolts or nails on decks that are failing. I use a french press and old school kettle. I bring the percolator to job site if a fire pit or grille there in cold months.
Burning on site is illegal? 😳 oops.. we had fires 10 feet tall many times on a house build last year clearing out all the scrap material 😅 one thing that's always been fun being in construction is doing your your projects with leftover material lol
Cost of material + at least $25-$35/hr per man of labor for Subcontractor fee. Permit fees and Contractor %. Clean up and dump costs. Complete demo in a cpl weeks. Never know what you'd run into IMO so you can do the math for just the demo.
I live in Sweden and have never lived anywhere where there is carpet on the floor. I don't think I have ever seen it, except in the UK. I have never ever seen carpet outside. Except in the US on tv/movie/youtube and in the UK. Is this a US/UK vs Europe thing? Or simply something we do different up here in the nordics? Anyone else in the comments from other european countries that can tell me how it looks in their country?

The "water proofing" on your deck looks sad...
Should look into a Pli-dek type system waterproofing/finish product on the deck
Lacking a client job at the moment?
Just on hold until the drywall was finished up! We are back on it now
I’ll check it out thanks
Dear Jason,
Please never change

Those side work videos are fun. Good times.
Home repairs are so satisfying! You Perkins boys should help out Ray for a day.
They are satisfying!! I was so glad to get this project done!
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers I love that you glossed right over the "help ray out" part LMAO. I'm sure you do though- you guys are great bosses and great friends too no doubt.
Those guy must have been paid by the nail the way they nailed the drip edge lol
I'm guessing that is for some Christmas decorations (lights)
I think they rolled the carpet over the edge and nailed it then cut it off, maybe
Wow love that charcuterie board in your kitchen! 😉 glad you like it, thanks
Oh it is sweet!
It is always a good day when PBB have a new video on RUclips!! Keep up the good work!!
Jason helps make Perkins brothers videos worth watching , you learn alot but its a blast TO WATCH
What a killer view from the deck!

Good morning Perkins Builder's and crew. Wow that maybe the new project. Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲
Good to see repairs!
5th from Philippines....always watching your videos....
Great to see your videos like always great team
The tunes are great!, keep it up!
Interested if this project ever got complete, was looking forward into how it turned out
For as much Jason doesn't like painting, he sure took pride in all the painting in the Main Street house.

you can get a reusable filter for Keurig then put regular ground coffee in it. no more trash
no man, French press is the only way to go.
Yes mine came with one to use ground coffee.
Looks good from Tommy's house 👍
😆
Hope so!
Your house looks to be sitting in lovely surroundings

Looks so much better!
More repair videos, awesome work!

Jason such a nice guy and funny...
Wow! Looks like a professional did it! 😉😂😂
No better calf work out than working off a ladder all day 😂👍🏻

Y'all have a lot of fun 🤣🤣. So how long have you two been together 🤣🤣🤣💕 have a great day guys🤗
Looks like fun with Jason "new title"
Pro tip for painting use a freaking 6” roller for tha fascia dude
Not another day goes by with 2000 New subbers to PBB. Keep it up folks.
Love the view! Lol at the miter joke, definitely a Jamie line😂
Funny work, guys!

Interesting topic ~

You can get refillable K-Cups for your Keurig. Just put regular coffee grounds in them and reuse them.
likin theze short project vidz yall doin
Love the new look what did you use as the board replacement
Pro tip when painting, always paint in the shade,so you don’t get different patterns and nuances, all over, and never dilute your paint.
Paint in the shade? What difference does it make whether you paint in the sun or in the shade? Other than the sun tires you out?
@@2004jessiehs if you paint in the sun,the paint dries too fast, literally seconds,if that happens and you overlap, guess what happens. You get stripes and small pieces of dry paint on the new paint. You end up with clumps all over. Also an unprofessional look. When painting inside,I close the windows and doors for the same reasons.Open them only when I am done. The small things make the difference between a job well done vs here,it’s done, now pay me
Life skills at the end, take time to enjoy life....
Please tell me your not gonna put carpet back on after repairs!.
Love the video! Could you do a before/after shot at the end of some videos? I think that would be really cool!
I'm here!
Nice watch
Suunto is the best 😉
Love Jason, can he come to Greensboro hahaha.
Dang the deck is bad, but good thing you fixing it
if thats your real life house i love it, eric.
so what did you do about that big ol' gap in the left side?
That’s what I want to know also.
they make reusable K-Cups! you just have to use your own coffee
Beat me to it. Guilt free coffee
usally when you can't cut a 45 it means the wood is cupped or the table on the saw is bent
Looks great, I’m getting ready to do the same thing, same product. What size and type of nails were you using?
4:51 it would have been too funny for YT if Tommy had yelled back, "Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I have the same saw horses with a long 2x4 attached, Not my go to but cant get rid of them .
At 01:50, Jason tries to bribe the job site inspector ;-)
Ray's getting replaced as a Builder Buddy
Lol was there a small wedge stuck up inside the guard when you couldn't cut through?
Now it has some Depth on it.
it was nice FULL SCREEN video
Yes!!! Boo vertical
Why did the boards rot? No air circulation behind?
Well that's one way to do it.
Fun at work
Jason for the win
What did you end up doing with the gap in the centre of the facia?
How you liking that Milwaukee 30° nailer? Been looking hard at it…
Milwaukee or Dewalt? What's the preference for the Perkins crew? Have seen you guys using both in the videos. I have Dewalt batteries but picked up an adapter off Amazon so I can used Dewalt batteries with the 18g Milwaukee. Can't decide on the framing nailer yet?
How do those milwaukee nailer compare to dewalt?

I can't get past the lp smartside being painted osb? Can u guys do a video on it? The longevity of osb is terrible when exposed to the weather
Hey Jason, if your ever in Columbus looking for work, I got ya bub, ✅💯👍😎🇺🇸
Someone got paid “per nail” for the flashing!!
Tear ‘er out!
Has The Nantahala Retreat project finished? Why hasn't it been updated?
Hey quick question… how do I become a member of the channel?
There are re-usuable k-cups, you fill them with your own grounds.
Burning on site is illegal? 😳 oops.. we had fires 10 feet tall many times on a house build last year clearing out all the scrap material 😅 one thing that's always been fun being in construction is doing your your projects with leftover material lol
need a new blade on that saw btw your welcome👍🏽
Yep… That was part of the problem :-)
Hey Mille!! What a pretty girl!
Hey Tommayyyyy!
looking at the fire and wondering what Toilet Paper gotta do with it
Oh man I hate painting too.
Why didn't yall spray the paint work? Seems like it's always faster to spray when ladder work is involved.
So it who's boss and how on don't take out your before you finish the job. Lol good times.. Whooooo.
Nice work! Isn't it unhealthy to burn (and breathe) the paint on those boards?
How much would cost to demo that deck? I got a staggering estimate for deck demo a couple of years ago.
Cost of material + at least $25-$35/hr per man of labor for Subcontractor fee. Permit fees and Contractor %. Clean up and dump costs. Complete demo in a cpl weeks. Never know what you'd run into IMO so you can do the math for just the demo.
@@daburg11 thanks!! Much more reasonable than my quote (I’m in the Northeast).
@@Avital4414 building back is what will cost you.
@@daburg11 absolutely.
@@Avital4414 I'm in the Great Smoky Mtns. I'm just a 1099 carpenter but listen pretty good. I could be leaving variables out of the equation too.
Pro paint tip is don’t paint Jason said
the previous board rotted but you’re choosing use chipboard??? Not worried that that’s going to fall apart really quickly?
30th my brothera
Hill AFB is in Utah
you guys are literally down to one worker..
Were having rot issues from water so we're replacing this with fancy osb coated in magical oils
So you took care of the cosmetic issues, but left the structural and safety problems alone?
Yep… have a board over the soft spot until I can rip into that!

What happened to the gap you had in the middle of the last board? You never showed us what you did.
Where’s nantahala?
Coming back starting SUNDAY!!
Put a 1x2 around top.Looks gy
I wonder if Erik recognizes my goofy ass name lol
Yep!
