Great footage of the Gobi bear clinging on to life in harsh barren environment. Beautiful bear cub is indeed most precious. Humanity needs to protect the precious wildlife we still have.
Watching them made me cry my eyes out. What a difficult, lonely existence. I know finding water is hard enough for them but I never heard it mentioned about what they eat? The lands completely barren. I truly hope they somehow manage to survive and thrive 😢
They mostly eats roots (especially wild rhubarb), berries, and wild onions. Also grass shoots and flowers. They are primarily herbivorous omnivores. The only “meat” they really eat is insects, and small rodents. They do not prey on large mammals.
One of my favorite animals. Just such a cool subspecies. What the heck are bears doing in a desert? And they look so scruffy lol, I just love everything about them man
Yea they sorta do! Its funny you say that cause the vid i watched literally RIGHT before this was of the one where the Indian soldiers find the bear with his head stuck in a box! 🧸🤎
😢 Those bears are precious. It makes me sad to see how they have to struggle. However I think it is their path, they have been living this way for a long time. I guess part of the reason they have so few in their species is because if they had a lot more all the water would be gone.
Just like the polar bear this bear picked a very narrow niche to exist in therefore it will go extinct on its own. Animals that fill a wide niche and can live in many environments thrive such as the black bear. They live in almost every known climate and eat a wide variety of foods because of this they are able to establish a population virtually anywhere they are.
