Stipe went for the takedown to early, he had no choice in the small octagon it was that or be punched. In the big one he could move away and dodge. He waited for the takedown until late round 2 last fight which probably would have worked this fights but he had no where to move in the small octagon.
I been saying this, all Ngannou had to do was stop the take down and fight smarter in the stand up and Stipe would struggle. Ngannou has a steel chin and hits very hard so you don't want to exchange with him too much. Landing the takedown was Stipe's only chance of winning. Jones gets killed by Ngannou IMO...

That shot he took from Miocic was what made Miocic Champion against Verdum, what he didn’t know was Francis’ chin would not be shook by that shot, that’s why he went in for the kill and walked right into that left hook.

Stipe went for the takedown to early, he had no choice in the small octagon it was that or be punched. In the big one he could move away and dodge. He waited for the takedown until late round 2 last fight which probably would have worked this fights but he had no where to move in the small octagon.

I been saying this, all Ngannou had to do was stop the take down and fight smarter in the stand up and Stipe would struggle. Ngannou has a steel chin and hits very hard so you don't want to exchange with him too much. Landing the takedown was Stipe's only chance of winning.

MMA fighters have a very short career span, for UFC fighters it’s even shorter, so they need to maximize those dollars so this debate can end.
We didn't get the chance to see much of Francis'improvements in his last few fights, but he is on another level now, and he could easily fight once every month based upon how quick it ends every time...
