im open to it, im old, i dont always have time to play long matches most nights, so I play short, but those are too short. It should also fix saving a bit in pro play, rounds matter a lot more.

@@Spetsnazty because on the highest level, they could crawl back and we saw it many times over. And they also winning pistols round a lot. But I have to see it in place to make definite opinion on it.
Agreed! Games often lose excitement and should they be close, we will get OT anyways (assuming that valve will adopt it in comp).
I love the short games. I play short most nights but where I can will play a long match. Hopefully the short matches will still have their place in the game and valve don't use this as an excuse to merge the two.
Faceit usually has a good 2-4k matches live at a given time, thats a massive amount. MR12 is a no brainer, they just need a new system to pull people away from 3rd party bollocks

Im usually play MR 8 and don't mind to play 12 rounds. But 15 is too long.
MR12 is a good change. People who complain about bad MM should like this change. When you Q into a match your not getting the best experience. The player base is split between short and long matches. With everyone playing MR12 the MM should be more competitive in your rank.

Yupp. And split between faceit. The community needs to come all to one playlist. The barrier to faceit or just downloading it in general is a turn off to lots of people, and csgo mm is broke. They just need to make elo based ranks and bring it all together

I'm MGE and I play short because I don't like using AWP and the longer the game, the more impact AWPs have, but I feel short is too short whereas long is too long. MR12 to me seems perfect as a solution to many problems.
"Most players play shot games anyway" - That's not true. The statistic about 55% short matches was about the *number of games played*. But with shorter games, it's obviously possible to play more games in a shorter amount of time. So if you account for that, long games are actually way more popular!

there is no reason to remove the option to choose. if the community is so split than why would you screw the entirety of the other side.
Because there is a significant difference in the competitiveness of short and long matches.

The first competitive FPS have been on a MR12 basis imo, at the beginning of CS, COD4, now Valorant, for people having played Battalion 1944, same thing, I feel like it is a great compromise between viewers and gamers' experience, some Grand Finals can be very long sometimes, even more when there are OTs, longest map of CSGO have been couple hours, 1 game... Most FPS games' time are around 20 minutes, 30 so MR12 makes sense afterall
I don’t know mr15 was so perfect for me but I can see mr12 pretty sure it’ll be fine tho hope it work if it doesn’t then I’m pretty sure they’ll change it back
Don't understand why cs community is so resistant to changes, I'm always welcome to new changes as long they balance the economy of CT side with reducing the price tag for weapons and makes each rounds matter more we are gonna get more intense games & more retake attempts from teams instead of saving simulator on the other side of the map
Games are also going to end faster so teams can prepare for 2nd map instead of dragging a lost game to 16 rounds

Is it only my that loves this change? For me long matches are too long now and its hard to keep up with competetive scene, and for playing short matches are too long, even when we didnt know about this change i was hoping to see something like this. Huge W for me

I think pro games/faceit should stay long length. Definitely allows more combacks/ shows skill gaps more if you go 0-16
Not much more then 13-0. And valve is going to want comp and pro play to look the same. First to 16 takes forever in terms of a view experience as well

Genuinely curious, do you receive more "ELO" for doing long matches?
IE: Short game win = 20ELO / Long Game win = 40ELO?
If I play for fun short match I only get mixed lobbys.... I only play Faceit and love 16 rounds... I never saw a good guy playing short match. Always trash players
