Great to learn about these titles. I didn't get a ps1 until 97/98 but was lucky enough to experience rayman. Although I am sure I didn't get far. Still can't! Great video you've put together here. Solid structure and well scripted. Keep up the good work.
Great stuff, man! You spent the perfect amount of time on each game. I was 5 when the system launched, but I never played any of these launch titles (other than Rayman, which really was a nightmare as a kid). What's really cool is that all of these games came out before you were born, sure gives a unique perspective!
Thanks! It's always good to look back at gaming history and see just how far we've come and to embrace what made games great even back then! Sometimes pure fun is all you really need.
I was 7-8 years old back then. I remember back in late 95’ or early 96’ walking into a mall with one of my parents and getting to the electronics section and seeing ps1 on display. The game demo I saw playing was battle arena toshinden. I remember my young mind being blown at the time by the graphics even though I had a SEGA Saturn then. I didn’t get a ps1 until a few years later but I always enjoyed playing it at friend’s houses and electronics stores until I got my own around 1999. Some of these launch titles were rough though lol definitely did not really show the full greatness of the console early on. Good vid man!
Yeah I didn't get mine until much later in it's lifespan. Heck, I wasn't even born until 3 years later. I grew up with Spyro and Crash, didn't get much chance to try these earlier games until now
Good work, hey I lived through it, and I always sucked t those fighting games too.. But even games I used to be good at, when I go back now and play.. seem much much harder..
I think that has got to have something to do with how smooth and seamless games are now. Back in the day, games were stiffer, more awkward, slower, jankier. It's hard to adapt to that style when you get used to modern sensibilities
Yeah I've beaten the Devil Car in RR. Once you do you get to have it in your garage. My advice is to learn how to drift properly. RR has an immensely satisfying drift technique. I have no idea why Namco decided to mess with it in RR Revolution.
Ya alot of the early games sucked, but at the time 3d was new and just being able to navigate 3d environments and control 3d characters was so new and cool. Nothing like it before.
Yep. I beat the Devil Car (Or, the Black Car, as I called it) But it took some time.... And I did it on an original PS1 with oeiginal "low res" and low fps, I still have the save game, and i can play as the Black Car if I want
yeah, HAPPY NEW YEAR. it was the best, the ONLY ONE. the introduction to an evolution of the greatest gaming revolution of ages. timeless, game changer. 30 years of GREATNESS, TRULY EPIC. as their advert would read "its a SONY," true that. take care, truth be told

ESPN Extreme Games was later relaunched as 1Xtreme.
Great video dude.
Oh neat! Didn't know that. Wonder why they rebranded and relaunched it
@@ashtonlovellyt According to Wiki, it was due to license expiration from ESPN.
Much better than a tripleJump video 👍
A lot less being negative for negativity's sake. Man, those triple jump people really need to cheer up
I have won vs the Devil Car by using the manual gear. It gives you some extra speed.

That's insane! Good work. Is it really that much of a speed advantage over other cars?
