I do not recall if you said you replaced the plug yet? At least look at it. The first thing I would do is restart the machine without the air filter. If it runs good that was the problem. The second thing I would do is remove the exhaust from the machine and place it on the side burner of an outdoor grill. Some of the mufflers today are equipped with a kinked up wire mesh inside the muffler where it bolts onto the head. This is like a catalytic converter on a car. This heating process will remove most of the carbon from inside the muffler. After baking for 20-30 minutes blow it out with some compressed air let it cool first. Even if this was not the problem it is good maintenance. Next examine the exhaust port on the head for carbon build up. If the passage is clogged scrape out the carbon while making certain no carbon gets into the combustion chamber. Use the piston to block scraped deposits. Also examine the piston for signs of scoring and blow by. If you were using a good synthetic There should be no build up. All in all it sound like it is not moving air through the system. Meaning the intake or exhaust is restricting flow. If that does not solve the problem try adjusting the mixture screws and finally the fuel filter.
precision.lawncare.kc Thanks for the tips. Sounds like you know what you are talking about. I think I need to buy a back up trimmer before I go to taking this one apart. I know it will be good to have one anyway. Thanks again!
Let me be blunt. 2 cycle equipment is a pain to work with. Some times you win sometimes you loose. They just do not like to corporate. Just try the muffler cook. This sounds hard but is pretty easy. You might try and back out the H needle slightly and see if that helps. It should be set well from the factory so don't go crazy a half turn or less. Make sure you are using the exact mix on the fuel. Don't cheat.
+precision.lawncare.kc So it ended up that I just needed to adjust the new carb a little. It was running lean, when I took the spark plug out it was all white. It's running like a champ now!
I think I saw where you can adjust the valves look here on you tube im sure I saw it on here on you tube. Like you said it still sounds rough. Good luck I have a lot of them and never had any problem so far have ran them for years.
Shindaiwas aren’t what they use to be. Echo bought out shindaiwa and now uses their emission system in shindaiwa. So the carbs constantly go out of adjustment. If you find a T270 keep it!! Never let it go!
Clean spark arrestor at muffler
If you ever adjust the carb again make sure the air filters on while you do it
Thank you and I will remember that for next time!!
i was wondering why i cant adjusted , im been doing it without filter thanks for this comment from utah!
It always amazes me at all the tutorials on how to do something when it's the first time they done it..

Buy yourself a pack of carb adjuster screw drivers. Needs to be adjusted.
