  • 1974. 169 Cub Cadet 16 HP Kohler Engine Garden Tractor. A few people have inquired about this so Here's a Video. A Beautiful Tractor. I have love for years. Selling at this time. Upgrading (down grading?) next Spring to a newer lighter, quieter, and more comfortable basic Lawn Tractor for my house. What a machine these old Cub cadets were/are. Hard to find the 169 cub which was the first 16 Horse Cub in the 1X9 series before the Quietline (Ugh) series came out. I looked for years. About 8 years ago, I found this in a back yard for which it sat for a couple years. I Couldn't believe it. Straight, Complete with one broken taillight and bad front tires. It Even had It's Large Muffler in place which Is often times missing from Pieces of Junk I've come across through the years ( I even I have an extra muffler that I came across) ..So I asked the Guy if I could buy the tractor...and done after a little Hee-Hawing. He never thought about selling it. He was original owner but just ended up sitting it once he started having people do his lawn a couple years back. Tense moment as he kept thinking about it..and then said "oh all right"...Not even knowing it it started. It just looked so good to me I didn't care at that point. And what did you know... New gas and a battery and She fired up....couldn't believe it. He couldn't either and I remember him saying "man, maybe I don't want to sell it". So after a Semi-Amateur restore (surface rust stuff), new front tires, lights and seat...I have been enjoying it for years. but time to let it go...maybe.lol. Plow is not Original to the tractor. Plowed driveway Snow for probably 5 years or so but not last year....Oh ya, I have Chains for it also. A new seat, for which has to be replaced like every other year it seems, really would make it look great...again. and replace the Old wire to the lights that broke off some time ago...I don't mow or plow at night anyway. I also have a bunch of parts all over the place for Cubs. All the 1X9 series had basically the same parts. Selling a lot of Cub stuff. Got to love the Old stuff though. Tons of Metal, muscle and durability/long life.
