Mawkzy is incredibly good at maintaining pressure. Also found it hilarious you guys mentioned how much hes matured on defense then about a minute later uses an audacious fake on his goal line. MANIFESTING!

nwpo played really well here despite the loss. Also the commentary duo worked so well imo. Feer had some really great analysis that was honestly prescient at some points, which worked great with Johnny.
would love to see more these 2 together (feer and johnny)

With all the uploads I'm not sure if Johnny will be able to read comments but I just wanted to say thanks to what has been by far the very best 1s tournament. You and your team have gone above and beyond. We've been used to get great matches, but the format, the prize pool, the multiple streams, the absolutely fantastic overlay (I can't overstate how much I love it in game, and in-between games), the collaboration with Feer for the finals, the scheduling of the EU then NA (which was perfect at least for the working father that I am). And to know that we have more coming is just the cherry on top.
This is the best portfolio 1s could get to be pitched to Psyonix, and I hope the current situation with Epic doesn't limit the future of 1s in RL esports. Thank you so much

Feer adapting his pronunciation of Nwpo’s name (after the first instance, I guess) to match Johnny’s while a guest on his channel is a sign of a great and attentive co-commentator. The two GOATs of 1’s commentating

@@AndreGomes1987 my thought was that it completely avoids any potential annoyances with having two different pronunciations of the same name at the same time. It could be seen as stubborn for them both to insist on their own pronunciations for what potentially could have been an hour and a half, so the fact that Feer recognized that, as the guest, it would be a less confusing and/or less confrontational decision to just go ahead and stick to the pronunciation Johnny’s audience is used to hearing for this series tells me that he’s flexible and willing to blend his style and commentary with those of the person he’s on the mic with. If that makes any sense at all

Feels like NWPO is bobbing in and out of S tier 1v1, I think players who mains the mode like mawkzy can kinda push NWPO down back into A-tier, but if NWPO can get some more grind in and work out the kinks, I think he'll immediately lvl up to a more respectable lvl of consistency.
But I think if we're gonna be serious about considering NWPO as the highest tier of 1v1, then I think he needs to prove that he can adapt during losing games and play different styles. Right now, if an opponent gets used to NWPO, the serious is over before it even gets rolling. NWPO is too dependent on momentum.
Meanwhile Mawkzy is incredible diverse and flexible, and it's not like anyone can beat him just by speed because mawkzy is simply very fast and I think few players thinks as fast and is so "on" during the entire series. Meanwhile NWPO is fast on the field, but decision making seems almost sluggish in comparison (which probably, again, is due to lack of grind. MOre grind will give NWPO faster decisions and avoid the traps that smart players will lay)
Undoubtedly the strongest player rn. Thats what appjack said when mawkzy gets on a roll no one can stop him.

@@steezgames93well you can't really pronounce those two consonants together, so there has to be a vowel in between. Some choose an o, some choose the "ew" sound, and so on.

Just a small thought; I might be in the minority here, but maybe consider mirroring the scoreboard after the Games instead of copying it? It seems way more natural, for me at least. Like having the total scores both on the outside (or inside) … you get it :) just some minor cosmetics
I also save myself the trouble of telling you that I like your stuff - because I wouldn’t be here commentating if I didn’t think it would be worth it - and instead write a considerably longer sentence without adding anything.
Their voices are so similar sometimes it’s just the accent that separates them.

everyone in saudi that plays in this tourny has 80 ping or more.. still never saw mawkzy vs the saudi duds with high ping mawkzy always had lower ping.. thats why i say rw9 over mawkzy..
They are not only used to playing at a higher ping, they choose it over playing on their own servers when given the option. Having that higher ping didn't stop Rw9 from being the #1 player in 1s for the entire last year so why use it as an excuse now when he's not?
Mawkzy has won 4 of the 5 most recent and biggest 1s tournaments. Rw9 came 3rd in every one except Feer Fiesta (which was easily the weakest event of the 5). Mawkzy also now holds a 10-6 record against Rw9 in head-to-heads. As much as I like Rw9 as a player, you cannot put him ahead of Mawkzy right now just because his ping is higher.
Mawkzy over RW, except you are NA troll who cries himself to sleep. Watch who wins this tournament and who beats Rw9, then ignore reality and repeat your lies so you can sleep better.

@@lancejacobs.I understand if you think higher ping is a disadvantage, but MENA players actually do prefer EU servers. It's because the stable 80-90 ping is preferable over the fluctuating 20-40 ping on a MENA server. Of course nobody likes higher ping, but they prefer stability. Many MENA players have said this themselves.
