I don't know how I ended up here, but "Russia is not in Europe" took me by surprise.
Though geographically Russia lies mostly in Asia, culturally/ethnically it is notably European.
Most maps of Europe or Asia you will see that Russia is included as part of Europe. It’s quite funny to look at because there’s like a line where Europe ends but then Russia extends way past that line.
Yeah idk why someone wouldn't consider Russia European... I can see the issue with for example Georgia or Armenia being questioned (as people see them as either Asian or European and they're on the border) but Russia is mainly a European country and is included in basically all maps of Europe. 😅

@@JosephOccenoBFH isn’t that because of during the Soviet Union when people were all moved around? My friend is from Kazakhstan and she was from the Asian side of Kazakhstan but she is more European. During the Soviet Union her grandparents got moved from the European side to the Asian side of the country. She said the Europeans are mostly in the Asian side and the Asians are mostly in the European side.

@@Momoa786 Nobody ever said that English were Germans lol just that they have Germanic DNA. The English people are primarily Celtic but with about 20-30% Anglo Germanic aswell so yes you are right they are not mainly Germanic but they’re culture and language is more Germanic than Celtic for sure

For me Russians are the easiest white people to distinguish. They often have that distinct look in their facial features. I think British people also have their distinctive look at times.

I cringed a little when you said that Spaniards from the North East of Spain were lighter skinned than the rest as if there was this massive genetic difference. There is not. There is a wide variety of Spanish looks, and if you are objective, the average Spaniard has brown eyes, brown hair and is fair to medium skinned regardless of geography. If at all, there are more fair skinned people in the Northwestern part of Spain (Galicia, Asturias) than in the Northeastern part.

The reasoning is not always right, a lot of Brits do have dark Features..meaning very dark hair, darker skin, eyes, etc... Let's look at Mr Bean, Russell Brand, Orlando Bloom, Tom Jones , Zeta Jones, Cheryl Cole, Robbie Williams, Kit Harington, Victoria Beckham, Sean conneryz Jeff Beck, Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore.. etc... Lots of Brits look almost Mediterranean.. UK is nothing like Scandinavia regardless of being up north. In fact both German/Dutch tend to be taller and blonder despite being located at same latitude or in some case southwards.. and I could name also several places down in central Europe.. specially Welsh and Irish do have lot of dark folks..
