Hi, I just received a Juniper as a Christmas present, purchased from an indoor shop. I live in Brooklyn , NY so it is winter here. It happens to be in the low 50s today, but I’m wondering if Zi should bring it outside after being indoors. It missed the fall season. Will bringing it outside now cause it confusion or harm it?
@@nja3224 yes, this should go outside. 50s is perfectly fine for it to adjust for winter. Some of our junipers still haven't gone dormant. Depending on the area of NY you are in, it can get some extreme winter conditions. One of our earlier videos (Bonsai For Beginners 2) talks about Juniper Winter Care and it mentions what some bonsai experts do for extreme winters. Keep in mind, the information provided in this video pertains to procumbens juniper. While rare, there are a handful of junipers from tropical climates (barbadensis, jaliscana, and cedrus just to name a few).
