I thought you meant Dave Ramsey was throwing up not your cat 😂
SAME lol, made sense either way lol
I thought the exact same thing😅
Went back and watched after reading this comment. Much funnier the second time around 😂
Yep! Same
Golden 😂
Personally I thought my lower paying jobs were the least stressful and fun. They just suck because the benefits are terrible or nonexistent and it’s an unlivable wage even if you’re putting in overtime.
I worked a minimum-wage wage fast food job and it was the worst job I have ever had. My higher paying jobs required more skill but were never as mentality taxing as the minimum wage jobs.
There's certainly some really crappy low-wage jobs. I'm glad I'm not doing tech support anymore, for example. But I do miss the lack of stress and pressure at some of my earlier jobs.
I hate that its a trend just to hate on people with money. Its one thing if they are entitled and disrepectful but if they are normal people just living their lives being well mannered why hate? Their parents probably worked their whole lives to give them that lifestyle they didn't choose it. But everyone loves to hate until they become rich, then the entitlement come in for them. smh.
Your are absolutely right. And, in my experience, people that were poor and then become rich, treat other people like trash. Which is kinda strange as they should relate, but is it the opposite…
@@incognitoptl9408 exactly no one talks about this
@@incognitoptl9408 It's probably something like survivors bias, the attitude of "I did it so other people have no excuse for not being able to do the same!" I know I felt that way at some times in my life, but looking back now I can see how privileged my life was even as a middle class kid. And as an adult I have somehow managed to just not have any financial catastrophes come my way. Even now, while I'm on track to be a multi-millionaire in retirement, I can see how having one or two large misfortunes could ruin it fast.
I see your $100 Amazon rug and I raise you a $20 Facebook marketplace rug 😂
You're outcheaping Graham, I like it 🎉
12:00 Yea, but you GET THE TIME AND MENTAL CLARITY TO FOCUS ON THOSE THINGS. When you're working for the basics and barely seeing your wealth increase while being as frugal as possible.... You tend to be a bit distracted from finding what you want and what makes you happy. At least with money you have the time and resources to try and find it
Never worked minimum wage. $7.75 baby! Living large, lol.
You need a cleaning product sponsor for this video.
😮 After something happened during the video.
😂 talking about credit card debt, and the cat starts throwing up 😂
Graham talking off screen 😂😂
omfg how am i STILL realizing that I'm at the level of these TFKs smh fp. i had one of my best friends tell me not to feel bad. he's the only one that knows i think
My cat throws up a lot too! ugh!!!
Not a bad idea to give the wealth in increments. A windfall could ruin it for them and give them little direction, discipline and purpose.
“Quiet wealth”
Kardashians.
When they said 'Trust Fund' I thought like $200M. The one who wouldn't answer - I just stopped watching this video...
Sitting here in the negative 😅
Alcohol is the cause and solution to all problems in life.
UNPOPULAR OPINION: It's disturbing that drinking has to be involved to make their video entertaining. As normal as it seems, incorporating drinking into something as simple as this will lead to alcoholism. It doesn't seem like it now bc it's all fun and games. Considering they're all so young, it's unfortunate.
The thing I disagree with you is the “will lead” instead of “could lead”. Having a family, history of alcoholism is more likely to lead you to alcoholism, then not having one but engaging casually drinking. However it’s not that it’s impossible
Interesting opinion. Useless but interesting.
Well I've known trust fund kids Most of them do not have tattoos or nose piercings. High-class individuals don't have those things typically. Especially if they're brought up right. A lot of trust fund kids have jobs to and their hard-working a lot Of them. Most millionaires do not inherit their wealth. I'm in a literate janitor when as a union retirement for the rest of my life. My working career I save more than half my salary and invested it and low-cost index funds. The major In my life are expenditure Are supplements herbs. Preventative healthcare. I apologize for the poor quality my writing
The union must be getting their money from somewhere. Notice many paces don't offer retirment accounts but the place you worked for did.
Graham having to clean up throw up absolutely killed me 💀
Sometimes cats are fun sometimes they're not.
Sometimes bad things happen they have stomach problems or decide to destroy something.
when you have pets, you clean up after their mess
This is such a youtube moment
Lets watch a video about trust fund.... hold that thought my cat just puked on my rug
And snap we got right back too reality
Nothing says quiet luxury like Graham Stephan and his black T-shirts and 25cent coffee
Yeah, I'll second what Graham said. Nothing teaches you the value of money more than when you have to work hours just to buy something small and cheap. I told people I worked with, look at your take home pay for a week and figure out how much you actually bring home an hour. Then, when you go to buy something frivolous, think about how many hours you will have to work to buy it. It really sobers you up on those impulse buys.
Yeah it really does. I'm broke right now but ironically it's helped me make better decisions. :/
@@starwoodanime1532 How does that make sense? People making less than break even might have an income issue not a spending problem. Graham uses the law against the poor and selects against poor people otherwise why does he need to screen renters? He likely discriminates against others to gain money from them..... Since when did poverty create money?
Ramsey heard the debt part and *Hurled* . Dave too lol
I didn’t realize $750k-1mil would qualify someone as a trust fund kid. I always thought it had to be millions 😂 we all could invest on behalf of our kids a couple hundred a month (I know, I know, it’s a lot for many people) and by the time they’re 25 they could have at least 200k 😱 Something to fall back on/use for a home downpayment/start a business. 🙌🏻 Let’s go! I’m doing it! Make sure your retirement is handled first but otherwise help these kids you brought into the world. They’ll still work hard, the world is plenty difficult, they just won’t feel hopeless. Not on my watch.
750k-1mil is on the lower end sure, but it solves A LOT of our usual money problems. If this girl want to be a doctor (expensive schooling/loan), she already got that taken care of and can fully focus on it. She's not crazy rich, and she can totally blow it, but unlocks many doors if she's careful.
For sure. 750 -mil will not get you a life of luxury if you're going to live off returns.
Agreed. I guess it's just all relative....
That might just be money given to her by her parents . Her savings to fall back on. There's probably more where that comes from.
Lol I wish
Ramsey throwing up to credit card debt is golden
My cat would go out of his way to barf on carpets and bedding but never the hardwood or tile floors.
Nice work Graham! Quiet wealth / Stealth wealth is the way to do it
Agreed
Like a sleeper car. 🚗💨
@@triple_gem_shining - like a really old lady who looks young because she is wearing 3lbs of make up. 👩💄
Ramsey was throwing up when heard the word “credit card”. Makes perfect sense
$80 makes her panic, meanwhile I have $10 after rent and bills 💀
I can totally see how the question "where did your money come from" would be about as moot as "where did the air you're breathing come from" to a trust fund kid. You don't tend to give a lot of thought to something you literally never had to do without.
not really, most people rich or poor know what type of job their parents have unless its some shady underworld business. ive met plenty of rich people and their adult kids know what they do for work
yup rich people privelege. they never need to worry about money as a stressor
wealthy people worry about money, thats how they got rich, unless they were born into it, but like 80+% of wealthy people were not born into it. @@LucyRockprincess go watch Dave Ramsey and you'll regularly see people worth 5-10m+ who are still frugal and look at the prices of food they buy and try to buy the cheaper options. even billionaires worry about their wealth and they want to keep growing it. Kanye was a billionaire, then he said some dumb stuff and now he isnt, i bet that loss of money has stressed him out even though he still has plenty to live happily. dont act like rich people have no stressors, the more you have the more you have to lose, and they absolutely worry about that.
More importantly, something they never had to work for.
@@Big-Government-Is-The-Problem While they would know how to answer the direct question "what kind of work do your parents do to make money", their parents' work isn't necessarily what comes to mind when asked "where your money comes from" because the money has always been there without the trust fund kid having worked for it.
One of my friends is a trust fund kid. She’s normally okay about it but sometimes it’ll slip out, like for example there’s an expensive gym in my area we talked about joining together. I said I wanted to wait til I was in a better financial place to join, she said “well, money isn’t the issue for me”… OF COURSE IT’S NOT 😂
A true friend wouldn’t make you feel bad about not having money
when I get reincarnated I'm going to come back as a trust fund kid but not be insufferable
And also ask for the moon to be made of cheese.
If you gonna be a trust fund kid you have to be insufferable that’s like the side effects
If you didnt learn how to manage money as a child that means the adults failed you. The job of a parent is to protect and educate their child to succeed in life. That means everything including money.
@@masonparis7472 exactly, my parents never learned. They just worked 2-3 jobs, paid for our clothes and fed us and we were satisfied. I had to learn about budgeting, 401ks, loans through me asking questions in college and on Google.
There is generational wealth and generational poverty. If folks have parents who don't know how to handle money, they have a lot to overcome to become financially literate. It's easier nowadays with heat is available online, but there's also a lot more ways for scams to be pushed on folks.
What is funny I did work at a private school in Menlo Park that was full of trust fund kids. Most of these kids would be laughed at at the school. They had an issue where one kid was teased because her parents were so poor they were only worth a hundred million. Most of the kids families were in the Billions range. Couldn't imagine what they would say about the poor kid with only a million dollars. That is a whole other level.
I worked for everything and I'm a known workaholic. If I ever got to a time where I just had so much money I'd still have my kid work for what they have just not struggle as much as I did.
Graham. If I’m skipping a meal because I don’t have the money, no one’s giving me a credit card 😂
I think the idea is to have a credit card, for emergency cases, before the point at which you need it. My wife insisted on getting a CC for us, for just that purpose and it has come in handy a few times when the usual check/debit card won't process for whatever reason.
Thought it was Dave Ramsey Throwing up 😂
Ramsay throwing up on the rug when they mention debt, channelling the spirit of his namesake. 😂
I wonder if this was totally staged. The answers to the questions are fake and the booze is food coloring in water or maybe some kind of tea or juice. They just hired some collage kids for like $50 each and told them to have fun with their roles.
Cut is pretty honest with their portrayals
what's a collage kid? lol jk ik what u meant
"Between skipping food and going into debt, it's probably better to keep yourself fed"
TACQUITOS AND DEATH!
True, wealthy people dont care about looking wealthy in public. I mean, why would you care about perception when you are already wealthy. Enjoy being wealthy instead of trying to make others think/know you are wealthy.
Only $1M? That's a nice start, but if they are not responsible they won't be able to retire.
Safety net...750k. That's a very big safety net. If I had the money, my kids wouldn't see any of it until they accomplished something on their own in life.
The discussions around work ethic, the value of money, and the challenges of immigration were eye-opening.
But on the other hand, it's hard not to feel a pang of frustration when someone quits a job because they have a trust to fall back on. It's a stark reminder of the disparities in our society.
Still, kudos to the creators for shedding light on this topic and sparking such an important conversation.
I don't expect a lot of these trust fund kids to make it in the long run🤦🤦
I'm an only child. My family was a former royal family, from India, who got its wealth from real estate, mining, agriculture, art, jewelry, fragrance, manufacturing, cars, etc. I got a trust fund from my great grandmother as soon as I was born. I was her only great grandchild. I am not sure of my networth, but I do know that the assets that my great grandmother left me is valued in the millions. I do have a job as a intern. I have not used any money from this trust fund whatsoever, but I used my college fund. The struggles I have in life is family who are trying to make me give them property and money, as I know what I want to do in my life. My family estate, in India, has personal security personnel because of threats and issues we have had before. Whenever we go to India we always have at least one personnel because we have been in situations that have made us more paranoid for our safety, whether the threat be from people or animals. My mental health is fine as I am currently far away from the nonsense happening in the family because of money. They all want to get more property despite it being mine.
I can't believe you named your cat after Dave Ramsey. 😂 (But I certainly don't believe that's a coincidence....)
Love you graham. You and your innocent self make my work day a little better lol
Here is my take on finding fulfillment: start teaching, volunteering, helping others in any way you can
As a cat owner, I immediately knew that sound lol.
been tryna make it out the hood so on my RUclips channel i do food reviews while I’m high brotha
Being poor and getting drunk with wealthy individuals is always a good time
I disagree about the "struggling through things you don't like." Yes, there's something noble and respectable about resilience and grit, but the whole point of wealth building for many people is to provide for our kids.
We only have like 80 years on this planet, 40 of them spent in a career. If I can let my kid not waste a single one of those years doing something they don't like, I'll do that in a heartbeat.
You'd be priming them to become self obssessed hedonists who will easily be taken advantage of by those who want their wealth then, protecting your kids from all hardship is one of the worsts things you can do for them, leading them to be completely unprepared for the real world.
@@NN-pe6ip Or, hear me out, we don't jump to extremes and still parent properly. I know it's the internet, but things can be done in moderation.
@@NN-pe6ip Just raise them well, and possibly home-school or send to private school. Don't let them get involved with other snobby rich children, give them the wisdom of Christianity, and enforce budgets. Being "unprepared for the real world" isn't a real argument if they still have a brain and are able to learn (assuming you're talking about not knowing how to cook for example)
But I do support sending children to work in the service industry for at least a month. It educates them on what hardships servers have to deal with. I know everyone has uttered the sentence "I never knew horrible people like this existed", and it's better to get them exposed to crazy/evil people right before they finally feel like leaving the nest.
I don't think "struggling through things you don't like" is supposed to be respectable and noble. It's supposed to teach you a lesson about how life works for almost everybody on Earth. There's gonna be jobs you might not want to do, people you don't want to deal with, and chores you might not like doing, but its important to know how to get through those things. Resilience is a skill that many people need, its not just something thats done for being noble and respectable
@@acetrainerarcane1755 I agree, but I don't think spending 40+ hours every week for the foreseeable future doing something you dislike is necessary. Resilience et al is built in other ways, like chores and the other things you mentioned (on mobile so I can't see your comment while replying). And working in a field you like, even your dream job, isn't without its own challenges and difficulties, right?
Bro RAMSEY every time 🤣🤣! Man that cat is too precious ( he makes the video x10 better :) ) .
Yeah, definitely should’ve been longer
I promise that not having a trust fund does not help you in anyway. I have zero backup in life and that forces me to do and keep jobs that are hindering my ability to grow as a person.
“Anyway” would be a lie. If you know how to use it (and if it is way more than $10,000) then you thrive with that boost that your parents assign to you.
@@edgytypebeat781I mean technically you're right but the only thing I could see benefiting from being a wage slave is that it humbles you. But there are other ways to get humbled. I would not call it a benefit in any shape or form.
Would I like to have a trust fund? Yes, obviously. But I’ve worked in shitty customer service jobs, worked with the elderly, worked with low income children, waited tables, tended bar, and I can say for CERTAIN that I’ve gained invaluable perspectives that some people will never have. Could I have done all that with a trust fund? Definitely. Would I have? No, probably not.
@@mollybrown4764 So you don't think it would have been much better to do all that with a trust fund just in case? I like not ever having to worry about money but I can't say the same about everyone else.
@@donaldlyons17I don’t really know! It’s an interesting idea, and I can say that most likely my attitude and outlook on life would be different with a safety net. I can’t say for better or for worse and I know there are humble wealthy people out there. I can only speak from my perspective, and I love my life and I’m proud of the person I am today. But, like I said, it’s not like I’d ever turn down a trust!! Lol
working a minimum waged job is great, the business owner makes out like a thief exploiting that motivation. I worked a factory job at frozen pizza factory. 40,000 pizzas a day. I made sure the pepperoni was straight and the sauce machine was filled. Never again. It motivated me to start my own house painting company. couldn't believe how much money i made just by doing something i enjoyed.

Who else wishes their parents would have at least opened up a ROTH for them? Some of these TFKs don't know how good they have it. Milk is expensive xD LOL
Any rug I can chuck into washing machine is good for me 😂
In a way I’m disgusted they don’t know where the family came from. Their ancestors worked hard for that wealth
My grandparents came from the great depression era and my mom was a single parent of five kids. I’m still waiting for my white privilege card to come in the mail. I’m working here three jobs just to get by. 😂😂😂😂😂

Trust fund kids drinking call the cops! Call the FBI! I'm surprised no one freaked out everyone hates a trust fund baby partying and drinking! Lol
I'm just jealous of them for the ease of things they have like always having a car, not worrying about losing all my teeth, always having a secure living situation, not being shot into homelessness because Inflation spikes a couple more times...
I'd say a lot of the problems many people face with money is mostly lack of education on the subject. Some also stems from the ease of getting loans. It's interesting to see the way the "trust fund kids" thought of money though. Good video, Graham!
IF THEY HAVE CASH WHY EVEN BOTHER WITH LOANS? ALSO PAYING LOANS WITH CASH SEEMS VERY UNCOMPLICATED!!!
They want leverage bank money to make more money.

Old Money > New Money
I remember not eating when I was homeless. I lost my appetite because of the stress of it. Finding a place to stay overtook any need for food. Graham, no poor had time for youtube videos until Covid shutting everything down. My first financial videos were Jeremy's in March 2020.
I guess it just bothers me when they don’t care where it came from…yet people who work will try and tell each other their jobs are better/worse and that what I do isn’t enough or something. And then we have people sitting on their butt, saying I shouldn’t have pride in what I do for a living…? Nah man I’m gonna be proud that I put a roof over my head on my own, and that I don’t have to live life on any particular way for anybody but myself :)
You oughta do more of these!!

@@TheGrahamStephanShow aww haha best of both worlds then
The thing about going to a min wage job when you have no money, is that you barely get by and you'll always be poor, leading to a very stressful existence... I would imagine that going to a min wage job when you're rich would be much less stressful because you don't have to be concerned about the income. That said, if I had a million dollars, I would never work for anyone else again. I would only be self employed, and pay others (more than min wage) to help me make even more money, probably through real estate.
They dont wanna say details about their family's wealth to not put themselves as a target maybe?
I thought it was a bit where Dave Ramsey puked. I got a great rug in Los Angeles for $12, I wonder if that place is still open.

They should do a show on Trust Fund Kids, Where Are They Now. And look at how people starting off with a mil and see what they did with it. You might see lottery winner results.

The reality these people talk about the trust fund kids being out of touch with is ignorance and insecurity and lack of motivation to do better
