Founded in 1992, Women in Need Society (WINS) is Calgary’s homegrown thrift charity, providing basic needs resources and support to women and their families.
From their humble beginning, WINS has grown from one thrift store location to six across Calgary, in addition to their Donation Centre. In 2020 they launched a bulk thrift store, MORE! along with an online thrift box service, TwiceNEW.
The revenue from their thrift operations supports their programs, like House to Home, Retail Ready, Warehouse Ready and their four Community Resource Hubs.
The Women in Need Society (WINS) is an award winning not-for-profit organization and Calgary-based shopping alternative investing in the social wellbeing of community. The society’s family thrift stores directly fund its essential services and programs to help vulnerable women and their families live better lives.
