It's far too slow and jerky for me to ever want to make use of it. It's one thing if someone from your IT department is logging in to your machine to fix a problem but what you're showing there just wouldn't be usable by my criteria - I'd rather stick to the command line with an SSH session, or even tunnel Xorg over SSH to get a more responsive GUI up. (I couldn't give a toss about that Wayland rubbish - when someone can show me it running on a 20 year Pentium III machine like Xorg does, then I'll consider paying Wayland some attention.)
I have just install Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and it seems show on my Pi5 8G and NVMe. I also have not been able to install Connect. It says not available. How did you install it?

I agree, the VNC server installed by default in Raspberry Pi OS works fine with Wayland. I only use it on my LAN though, maybe it is internet connections that don't work.
No I think I mentioned it here. Control your Raspberry Pi 5 from anywhere. Real VNC ruclips.net/video/ikUH_wOesIY/видео.html You can log out of KDE and back into Raspberry PiOS with my builds
I have 5 headless machines on RealVNC. One is a Pi 4 running bookworm, 3 are mini pc's running Ubuntu and another mini PC on W10. For Ubuntu and Bookworm i just revert to X10. I dont need or want Weyland. I really wouldn't want to mess about with proprietary software for one of those machines. Im holdingbout for RealVNC to get fixed. That was promised for early 2024...
I have a really stupid question but hopefully I can get an answer. If there is a Raspberry Pi 5 based laptop with an 80Wh battery, how long would the battery last for web browsing - say streaming a RUclips video while having another tab watching Twitch streams, 1080p screen? Just an estimate.
You tried wine on rpi 5 yet been testing on rpi os 64bit if you wine 9.3 current one from pi apps i find it runs into memory allocation errors would be cool to see a guide for older wine install
I created it with AI Creating free AI images with Microsoft Copilot ruclips.net/video/bw8CMcfsilI/видео.html It’s included with this os My Linux setup Raspberry Pi 5 part 3. KDE Plasma ruclips.net/video/dHi-iQI68zY/видео.html
One option you can try is using the command line login option, "rpi-connect signin" - see if that works better. The GUI might have an issue sometimes, someone else in the forums noted the same thing.
Hey, im doing a project and I need help making the orange pi zero 2w as fast as possible, including os and hardware, could you help me? The project envolves making a low budget laptop for studying(like 80 dollars) and the orange pi zero 2w is at its core. I had problems specialy with video playback.
This video should be useful Raspberry Pi Zero 2W. First time setup. Far better performance with Zram. ruclips.net/video/vZkfuVyybIw/видео.html Many of the tips will also apply to Orange Pi
Well i still have weird video playback issues with Wayland in web browsers on rpi4 so for me it is X11 still. Some emulators still doesn't work on pipewire either need to use pulse audio. So yea Linux is still bad for everyday use.
No, Wayland is bad for everyday use because it is being pushed out too quickly to appease gamer brats who are desperate for a few more FPS in their games because all they do is play "Top Trumps" against each other on Reddit. Xorg and the rest of Linux works perfectly fine, it has done for years.
Why is VNC and RDP on Pi OS such a hot mess. It should just work, we don't want proprietary crap.
I would consider that a cold mess, that’s a big heat sink!
Good but Teamviewer is better and sends audio as well
Are you using it with a Pi?
@@leepspvideo not now but I have been yes on a Pi 4
why does the website want me to create an account for it though? the VNC option was so much better.
can it connect to a raspberry pi lite os ? (server)
No. It needs full 64 bit desktop. The docs go into more detail.

Thanks so much for letting us know. Your channel is great for Raspberry Pi guys like me.
Very cool. Seems similar to Chrome Remote Desktop but without having to give Google any more info.
Finally good to have remote connection back! I’ve been tinkering with Ubuntu 24.04 which is also waylabd… RDP works perfectly on that…

That Desalvo case is so beautiful...
Looks like they ripped off TeamViewer software!!
Exactly what I was looking for
This new feature will combine greatly with the new incoming CM5. 😄
The VNC server Raspberry Pi OS installs does work with Wayland, I've been using it just fine.
wayvnc
Slow as balls

Does this work with your KDE plasma build? I have installed it but I just get timeout when trying to connect
Only if you sign out and back in to one of the other Wayland environments without KDE plasma. At least in my tests
Remote desktop does not work with Raspberry Pi 5KDE plasma

Looks good, as long as they don't start charging for it.
Is there an option for direct connect, not through a relay server??
I linked the document in the description

Great video. You have to be on Wayfire under wayland for this work and not X11.
Thanks
Time to flash raspberry pi os to a new SD card. 😁😁
... and it was literally just updated right now to 1.01

Hey, thanks a lot for this helpful video.
Is there a possibility to use connect with sounds from the Raspberry Pi?
I know, with VNC it’s Not possible…
I haven’t read about sound with this. I have linked the docs. Team viewer has been mentioned in the comments as having sound support
Your Pi background is awesome. Where did you get it?
I created it with AI

Is it also possible to use it the other way around? Accessing your pc from the raspberry over the internet?
Raspberry Pi Connect software is only for Raspberry Pi. Try vnc, xrdp, team viewer and more
hey thanks for the content , can you please try og fortnite ezfn on the orange pi 5 plus , it has to perform way better than the new fortnite
