Wow. I like Costas, but I have even more respect for him now. One of the nicest compliments I've heard towards Vinny...

When Costas said "It couldn't be more dramatic if you were sitting behind the dugout" he doesn't realize that most fans behind the dugout - and indeed, in Dodger Stadium - could hear Scully's broadcast. It became a quick tradition for fans at Los Angeles Dodger home games - starting when they played at the Coliseum - to bring portable radios with them so they wouldn't miss Scully's descriptions of the game they were seeing with their own eyes. A fan didn't really need to bring his own portable radio, because so many others did and you could hear it across the stadium.

That was a great acceptance speech. Costas is outstanding and very humble it turns out

There has never been a passing of a public figure that has affected me the way Vin Scully’s has. You might expect that to mean it has been the most devastating. But it’s the complete opposite. And it’s not intentional. But it’s like he was so ingrained into the life of this sports fan, and so eloquent, and so dignified, and so comforting, it’s like he’s not actually gone. The greatest sportscaster. The great Vin Scully. Rest In Peace, sir.
