People who talk about her being sedated probably don't know she had a miscarriage, so she probably was prescribed some meds to help deal with the trauma or was simply drained from depression. That's why you shouldn't assume and comment stupid shit if you don't know the truth.

OMGOSH I'm like Mariah and Mariah is like me, ALL those dog tricks at 1:55, my Sophie does! So I def know how much she loves her dog babies! cuz it takes effort and love for a dog to know these things! but aside from those tricks, she also does speak, beg, and hop, spin around! #SUPASTARPUPPIES
Her speaking voice is really hoarse now, so it's definitely her voice that's deteriorated. I've been a massive fan for 15 years and I have to say that her voice is not as it was. I wouldn't expect it to be, she's that much older, but it is really really worn out - much more than other singers.
@ALove Part of it is due to her vocal nodules which one of my friends also has, part of it is also lack of vocal rest. Her 2020 voice was superb due to extensive vocal rest.
