Getting started: 1) pull out your hair spending hours trying to get wifi to connect 2) connect only to see the volume keep dropping to zero 3) spend weeks trying to deal with the most terrible customer service in the world 4) forget about the warranty you assumed it came with 5) agree to $500 for them to replace the main circuit board and 3 months wait time.... I’ll try to update if we ever get to step 6. KEF support is what nightmares are made of
Sounds great - if and when these work. Severe WiFi connectivity issues...either does not connect to keeps getting disconnected. Firmware upgrade failed out of the box and I had to tether it with an Ethernet cable to get it to restart. Either I got a lemon or this wasn’t ready for market. Very disappointed...was looking to get R7 for my main system but I’m changing my mind after this frustrating experience. ☹️
@@mobbdeepfgc7947 I got my first pair replaced. Somehow got the second set working but I did not upgrade the firmware as that is what I thought killed the WiFi on the first one. Sounds phenomenal especially in small rooms (I use these in my home office), but I stand by my disregard for KEF’s low-bar tech. The apps are horrendous and amateurish at best. But if you are fortunate enough to get it set up and stable...just use Spotify connect etc to control and enjoy the great soundstage. If you’re buying in India, ensure you buy from a dealer who knows the product well and can provide after sales support in case you have an experience similar to mine. 4.5/5 for audio quality, 1.5/5 for setup, 0/5 for apps, 0/5 for support.
@@mobbdeepfgc7947 I had these same issues plus some. Now waiting on KEF to take 3 months and charge $500 to fix mine. The only thing worse than that is trying to find any solutions from KEF support
Is it possible to pair 4 LSX speakers? I have a 35'x23' room (lounge, dining & kitchen) and have a set of LSX at one end, they are absolutely fantastic but I would like the audio to come from both ends of the room so I was thinking of buying another set of the LSX for the other side of the room, would this work?
Horrible. Ces enceintes sont une arnaque. La connexion en wifi est complètement impossible !! Marche seulement avec le Bluetooth. À ne surtout pas acheter.

Man oh man. Love how these speakers sound, but any time my router reboots, or I need a firmware upgrade it turns into a huge battle. The app never works as the video shows. The speaker can’t be found, the firmware doesn’t complete. Always something
Great speakers but if you have to reset your router, you are going to hate your life. The app is beyond crap, and I'm not sure the founders at KEF know what the word "support" means.
Hi Jason - thank you for your honest opinion and feedback. If you do have any other improvement that you think our KEF Connect app would need, please fill in the contact us form here (kef.com/pages/contact-us) and let us know!
Please include USB type C (USB 3.1 Gen 2) on this speaker as well as the kef ls50 because a majority of devices like iphones, ipad, android smartphones have no headphone jack and support audio playback via the usb type c connector only. Plus a lot of current laptops have USB type C. Also include Bluetooth 5.0 support since it supports high quality audio streaming via LDAC.
Just bought these a couple of days ago. I knew about the bad app but this is really ridiculous. Absolutely nothing works. You can't even save the settings. And you can't use an equalizer on your phone. Now it stays on full bass with middle treble. I really have second thoughts.. please FIX THE APP!
Have had these for over a year, lots of problems with the app, then one day out of nowhere impossible to get back on WIFI tried everything, what a shitty user experience for something this expensive.
Tremendous speakers. Check my engaging film out on the newest soundwave edition....going to set them up on my balcony next Thursday at 8am to the NHS applause. Maybe ‘we are the champions’ ........:)
The were a few deal-breakers for me with these speakers -- no Bluetooth 5.0, no USB type A or B input connectors, and poor reviews for the KEF speaker app. If they go ahead and address these problems in the future then I'll get a pair immediately.
Ya these speakers sound pretty amazing. But they do not work as advertised. It is a huge issue to get them to work wirelessly. I would avoid if you are considering.
1. Plug into your router with a LAN cable. 2. In your router settings find the IP address of the LSX. 3. In a web browser type in the IP address of LSX. 4. Select the Wi-Fi network in the drop-down and type in the password. 5. It works.
Don't know where you find this, but it is the best and unique solution that works for me, thanks! Edit : I spoke to quickly, they can't connect to the wifi again...
The worst experience ever (cannot connect s..t), great sound, still - useless due to the crap experience within pairing and set-up. Edited: And one of the crappiest support too, they act like stuff should happen, yet when contacted and informed that stuff ain't working, there was NEVER any reply. Frustration x 100
Progress, from the stone age of sound when cave men had no clue how to telephone their speakers to ask them if they were in the mood to play something, and luddites would have looked at us like we were normal if we had told them to use their giant 1950s computers to do a download. No wonder music was so rubbish in previous decades.
KEF LSX is a huge nightmare. I can't make them work. Setting up works until the 'white led' and the nice sound, but afterwards nothing happens. KEF Control remains hanging in "Retrieving speaker settings' and after some time the status is switching back to 'constant amber'. I have no idea what's going wrong and how to get any help.
Mine worked for a few months before they dropped from wifi, i have spent hours trying to get them to reconnect. At best they stay connected for about five minutes. Tried a lan cable with no success either. It is so infuriating paying 1299 dollars for pretty speakers i cannot use the way they were intended. I am using them now with bluetooth but that will not produce the same resolution.

Based on my experience, they must have filmed this eleven hundred times to get it to work from start to finish without something failing.
Absolutely
Unfortunately, I have the same experience. Speakers are fine when you can get them to work, but it's a rare treat...
