Wish i would've seen this video last night lol. I used a cut-off wheel to remove the rivets.

Will notching out the gasket like you do on the other style work for this style vlom?

I have heard the push rod bedding was from a over extending lifter but that doesn’t make sense.

I need clarification on riveted VLOM mod. I pulled the solenoids out and just left gasket the way it was (as per another VLOM mod video), blocked oil hole and am having tune done to disable the afm system. I am NOT doing the full delete just disable, but I caught mention of something else needing to be done from an electrical standpoint in this video, resistors needing to be wired in so ECM thinks its a functioning VLOM, I really need to know what needs to be wired in as I am about to put engine back together. Your other VLOM mod video where you remove the solenoids, I either missed it, or you don't mention more needing to be done from electrical standpoint. I will re watch video to be sure.

All I do if I have the vehicle is cut gaskets and add vlom plug. If you have the tune to disable it's not needed to do wiring.in of resistors. I believe I just responded to a forum post you put on my site as well.

I have a 07 Sierra vin code 0 and #6 stop working, the engine has the riveted vlom but it's never said V4 v8 on the display, anyways got an engine from salvage same vin code but smooth vlom, what should I do to make sure everything works correctly?

Sounds like you got an engine that was deleted. If you put it in just tune out AFM.

I have a riveted vlom. Can I just remove the exposed gaskets and plug the main feed,, or do I have to remove the solenoids. My issue is that I have to drive 30 minutes to get the tune.

Do my mod like in my long lifter release video at 27:17. No need to take it all apart. Just cut the gaskets and use a VLOM plug.

Can I tap the push rod or stick something on the push rod hole and tap on it to free the lifter?

If you are extremely lucky, maybe, most likely that will just make it even more stuck. After all that's what is happening every time it ticks.

I have this type of vlom and while I was attempting to take it apart, I broke the black plastic rail. What do you suggest I do? What would happen if I plug it and not install the solenoids? Thanks for your help in advance

@@marty5802 I just bought a new one from Amazon. I also bought an afm disabler to prevent it from going to V4 mode.
