Thanks so much man. We had an incredible adventure. When hunting rutting bucks in November, they have massive necks and the neck roasts are so tasty. Very little work to make a delicious meal for lots of people. I love tacos, so it made sense to go that route. Take care man.
Thank you men for sharing this wonderful Colorado adventure. Actually, it was three great adventures rolled into one high-quality RUclips. The respect you men have for each other, the wild game, and the beautiful country is very evident. This hunting experience was a delight to watch. All the best for future adventures.
That’s incredibly kind of you. I am grateful you were able to see that the hunt is so much more than inches of antlers - to me and mine. We had such an enjoyable experience and adventure on this short but action packed hunt. We worked hard and were blessed with success. Thank you again for the kind words. It means a lot.
Great hunt fellas! Each buck had its own special characteristics and I loved the huge bodies on them things. Shredded deer neck tacos looked tasty too! I do my deer neck meat the same but add barbacoa sauce in a pressure cooker. 👍🏽 I was out in Colorado for my first time ever elk hunt 3rd rifle all the way from California. I camped out for a week through two snow storms and loved every minute of it! I was unsuccessful but returned home with a world of knowledge and deeply satisfied with the urge to go back next year. Congratulations to your group for a great Colorado deer season. Blessings. 🦌🤙🏽
Thanks man. Very kind of you. We had an outstanding adventure for sure. Sorry to hear about your hunt, but it sounds like you still won - even if you didn’t kill. That’s a great way to look at it. Best of luck!
Thanks again John! It’s funny how some guys will get on my case that we killed small deer. I think it’s hilarious that someone feels the need to determine what others should or shouldn’t kill while hunting. Regardless… we had an amazing adventure. Full of excitement and plenty of action. Beautiful country and beautiful bucks. What’s not to love?!?!? God bless!
I really enjoy your guys out look on game. Some guys kill a great bull or buck and then immediately begin to critize it. I dont understand them, nor care to listen or be around them. Great job guys!
Thank you so much James. I appreciate your comment and kind words. We love getting out and obviously are not trophy hunters. We love to eat the meat and have a great time acquiring it. Thanks again and take care.
I typically do have the elk tag every time I hunt Colorado. I just didn’t get one this year because I wanted to focus on getting my son his first Co buck. Lesson learned - again!
Yeah, you’re right. He was wearing an orange beanie over the top of his cap, but took it off a couple times. I reminded him that he wasn’t in compliance. Dumb dumb. Thanks. Take care.
Thank you much. You may not believe it, but I filmed the entire thing with my phone. iPhone 16 pro. That’s it. The longer shots are through my spotting scope with the Ollin adapter. That’s it.
I have used every single scope adapter system/brand/invention that has ever been developed. The Ollin is 100% the very best out of all of them and it’s not even close. It centers your camera perfectly, every single time and it literally takes less than one second to go from not filming, to filming. I am in no way associated with, affiliated with or endorsed by Ollin. I just know that it works and is better than anything else out there.
Thanks man. We had a blast. It’s an area we have been hunting for several years now. Not a great unit, or even really a good one. Just one we have become familiar with over the years and really enjoy.
@@BMCBryce That's awesome man! Becoming an expert in an area you like (whether is a good area or not), is an area you guys like and I like how you say it... one that you guys ENJOY! Congrats again!
We did turn in the collar. That is why my son Isaac and Tyson weren’t on the final buck we killed. They had to run the collar down to the local office to get everything checked in. Unfortunately, Colorado doesn’t feel the need to share any of the data collected from the collar. So, that’s kind of lame. Still a great hunt though.
Thanks man. We have been hunting the same unit for four years now and it has been good to us. Some years have been better than others, but we continue to learn a bunch each hunt. I’d rather not say which unit it is though - as we have worked hard to find one that we can draw consistently - which also produces good opportunities. I hope you can understand.
Bryce, congrats on great bucks this year. Just letting you know that it is very obvious to any locals the exact drainage you are hunting. That spot will not be a secret for very long based on the footage you showed in this video and others from previous years. I have a pin marked from the last deer you shot because of how easy it is to tell the exact location of both the shot and the kill. Just something to keep in mind as you continue to post videos of such an obvious burn unit. I have been hunting in the same general area and have seen you and your UTVs around. Best of luck in the future but know that you are not the only people who will be hunting in that spot with as many people as can tell from this video.
Congrats fellas. Nice bucks. I strongly agree with the above comment. It saddens me to see videos like this as it shows obvious locations. As a NR who has worked extremely hard to find good hunting areas just like yall, it is extremely frustrating to see areas I hunt (I too can drop a pin on those drainages) being so obviously shown. I guess I’m just going to have to except the fate that this spot will not be the quality it is for much longer. Good luck on the season ahead.
@AustinHumphrey-u5d Austin (I am going to assume that is your name - forgive me if I’m wrong) first off, thank you for pointing this out to me. I was far too lax in my editing and failed to remove two clips that certainly do show too much background. Second, I sincerely apologize for having done that and will edit those out immediately. Please understand that it is never my intention to reveal any type of areas that I hunt in. I know and understand how detrimental that can be for so many others and not just for myself. Third - I appreciate the way you brought this to my attention and not in a negative light (most would have been far more douche-y). So, again… thank you. I will remove those scenes that reveal specific country. If I can’t, I’ll just delete the entire video. Thanks man. Take care.
@rileypontillo8610 you’re right about one thing… once the decision was made to go after these bucks, they didn’t have a chance. Where you’re 100% wrong is to assume that others shouldn’t kill a buck because of size. Others decision making has absolutely nothing to do with you. So let that go.
You’re probably right about that. Between issuing as many tags as the CPW does and the now vastly open landscape, it’s hard for a buck to hide. Although, the nutrition that is spurred by the fire itself can and does produce big bucks. I think it’s a double edged sword to be honest. We have been able to kill some trophies on that unit, but it has not been easy. Well… one of them was.
I typically don’t respond to stupid, uneducated comments like yours, but in this case, I’m willing to make an exception. 1) The one and only thing you are right about is that the collar is in fact for research. However, the research behind the collar is a mortality and migration study. Every state in the west is doing this now in order to better understand what is killing mule deer (specifically) and their travel corridors. While hunters do kill mule deer, it is much less common for a deer to die due to hunters than other causes. Despite your opinion, biologists are in fact NOT requesting you to not harvest collared bucks. On the contrary. They have stated that they would prefer it to be viewed as if they weren’t collared at all and harvested or not based on whatever the hunter’s personal criteria might be otherwise. 2) Who are you to tell someone that they should or should not shoot a buck because of your own personal views or standards? I have never been able to understand this. What a completely ignorant and stupid perspective. How dare you look down upon my son’s buck?! He was thrilled with it. I was thrilled for him. It could have been a spike and if he wanted to shoot it - it’s completely up to him. Not you or anyone else. My suggestion would be to do what you want with your own tags and on your own hunts, but leave others to what they prefer. Isn’t that what hunting is in the first place?
We do not agree on that. Time and time again, antler point restrictions have been proven to NOT work. Specifically with mule deer in the western states, they have been implemented and removed. They neither allow for more mature bucks on the landscape, or increase the productivity of the herd. In fact, they do just the opposite. Self imposed antler size restrictions is the best method. It allows each hunter to harvest the buck he or she desires. Some hunters care for the trophy more than others while some place priority on the adventure. Still others care for neither and are hunting strictly for the meat. Is one of these right and the other two wrong? If you think that way, I would suggest it’s your thinking that is flawed. I will never subscribe to a wildlife management practice that takes the rights away from the public. Specifically one that makes the decision for us - on which buck(s) we can or cannot shoot.

That last one looked especially big-bodied.
Colorado bucks are just built different! Even the two year olds.
Did you turn in the collar to local Game Dept? Will they give you any info from that tracking collar?
We did turn in the collar. That is why my son Isaac and Tyson weren’t on the final buck we killed. They had to run the collar down to the local office to get everything checked in.

One question lol, do you get a mule deer tag every year for colorado?? Im wondering how u pull that off . Thanks good video
I try to. I actually didn’t have a tag this year. So, to answer your question - I don’t. But I hope to have one next year.
where are y'all from? This is a group I need to be a part of! (I may or may not have more camera gear than brains to film!)
