I am Christian but I still have the highest respect for Chechens and Chechen women. As many have already mentioned, these women did not raise men, but they raised lions. They raised lions who unlike the Russians they were up against, did not fear death. They only feared God. They were ready to die for their women and children back home. Their mothers, their younger siblings, their wives and their children. It breaks my heart that there are now people who fight on the side of their occupiers against Ukraine, in which some of its people fought against the Russians in Chechnya. On a different note, as some whose mother tongue is a Semitic langauge (Assyrian Neo-Aramaic), I brain keeps on telling me to understand Chechen because it sounds awkwardly familiar. Apart from the Arabic influence on the language, it is not even closely related to Arabic, both coming from distinct langauge families. According to Wikipedia, this because of similar vowels and consonants to Semetic languages. Now that is the beauty of langauges.

I think the December 1995 date of this video is incorrect. Salman Raduyev, who’s referenced in this video, led a raid into Dagestan, also mentioned in this video, in January 1996. It must be from at least January 1996 in this case. Other than that, a beautiful video.

I think the December 1995 date of this video is incorrect. Salman Raduyev, who’s referenced in this video, led a raid into Dagestan, also mentioned in this video, in January 1996. It must be from at least January 1996 in this case.
Other than that, a beautiful video.
I considered this when writing the footnote for that line but thought there might be another incident in Dagestan that is being referenced, as the date for everything else seemed to line up.
