One of my all time favorite Jazz albums is “Studio Trieste” from 1982: Chet Baker, Jim Hall, and Hubert Laws. I bought the cassette around that time and have periodically listened to it all the following years. I transferred it to digital on my computers sometime in the nineties but couldn’t tell you when. Only recently did I finally buy the album on Apple Music for a much better sound quality. (You would think I would have bought the CD at some point but never did for some reason) But Malaguena is one of the four pieces on this album, and like the others, it is absolutely beautiful! This version on the video is exquisite ! I really enjoyed it! Thank you! ❤ 🙏🏻
And a year later it's only twice that while rubbish music gets millions of plays a day. Pearls before swine and gold before geese my friend. Are you one of the reasons this track's plays got doubled in a year?
This is my FAVORITE jazz take on this song, and most any song performed by flute, the recording on his CD is the most awesome song ever, I love seeing a live performance of him playing this song. The end is the most amazing instrumental playing I've heard.
One of the ALL TIME GREATS on the Flute. Any genre.
I will play my flute right now. 3.am. I won't care about neighbours...
Mr. Laws is a master of flute double tonging. Respect!
this cat always kills it
After all these years, it's still just...wow!
Hubert laws eres el rey de la flauta...QE forma de interpretar
Just as good as ever, at 84...amazing stuff!
Happy Bday to my mentor & teacher Hubert Laws (born November 10, 1939) 🎊🎉🎁
This is a remarkable recording. Super tight and I am inspired. Thank you for sharing it.

HUBERT IS SUPER AS USUAL BUT THE DRUMMER IS NOT TOO SHODDY EITHER
P.S. oops, il contrabbassista, i'm sorry
How on earth the bassist could forget his role at the very moment Hubert Laws plays his solo ??? You should NEVER play more ... than the soloist !!!!
