The John Deere 825i Gator got power steering late in 2012, but now for 2013 Diesel Gator the new John Deere 855D diesel got the power steering. This is great machine for farms and agriculture purposes. Also makes for a great toy to run around on the acreage with.

Thanks. Diesels are hard to find down here in MO and pushed the price beyond the budget. Ended up with an olive '13 825i from the local dealer. They had '14's on the way, so got it for what I saw used ones going for, plus 0% for 36. Really excited to put it to use on the farm! Thanks for the post. Enjoyed the hay videos too as we've got the same tractor and would like to do our own hay in the future.
I've bought a few pieces of machinery from that dealer and we actually bought a garden tractor at the Princeton dealer the other day.
Yah a 5 speed manual would be a hoot on the farm for sure, bring back days of old=)

Shh I didn't say this but the 2017 model is a 3 seater with heat and a/c also a new look on the dash and u can get roll up poly doors
Still happy with the 855d? Looking at the 825i vs. 855d, but like you don't want another gas can and better fuel consumption with the diesel.
WE LOVE IT, the best one we have purchased, the pulling power and ride is great, not as fast as the gas one we had but we love the diesel and the better mileage

How Big is Your farm? What equipment do You use?

I dont think its much different at all, the gas model has is scream to it over 35mph and the diesel is more of a knock but neither are very bad at all.

Nice 855D! I've read on some forums that some 855D's have some kind of issue wherein heat from the radiator is blown towards the occupants. Have you experienced this issue with your 855D?
Nope not issue for us been great machine and has 500 hrs on it already

how does it do off road ?
We live on farm here and the 80 acres it drives on is clay and clay sucks when wet and it does well, the gator here is only about 30mph beast with more torque then needed so does the job well of hauling pulling and working.

Each state is different in Minnesota you can only be on shoulders
the diesel utv are not speed machines! they are for work. if you want to go fast, you need to buy a different machine.
