      Hi gents, overhead storage is available for €150 however we will be looking to make it standard (if possible) from Jan 2022. Launch models can be difficult to include all previous elements from former model Caddy until full production process and parts are confirmed with the factory. We’ll keep you posted but appreciate the feedback.

    Grew up with vans, late father had an engineering supplies business. Had Renault Traffics which would go like stink but were very thirsty. Best were Merc 308d models which just kept going. And going.

    Dont get me started with the red tape regarding commercial/private vehicles in this country. Id love a transporter crewcab or Amarok to lug the family and all the bikes around aswell as carrying DIY related materials. But NO! Between, tax, insurance, testing and tolls, its a complete faff for anyone who doesnt have a VAT or herd number. It would be great if you could do a seperate video with info regarding the ins and outs of it all.

    I prefer van based lifestyle cars over regular hatchbacks or saloons. They double up as a car and a van and the modern ones are starting to look smart too.

      Ford 1.6/1.5 diesels are more reliable, not just the engines but every part of the car.
      And steering and shifting is so much better. (have not driven this latest caddy yet, only the previous model).
      I'm also very sorry that the next connect is just a caddy.

    Anyone remember the Seat Inca? While the Caddy mark ii was basically a Polo with a shed bolted on the back, the Inca was an Ibiza with the same shed on the back. It's mad. You wouldn't have said that the Polo and the Ibiza were the exact same car rebadged, yet that's exactly what you would have said about the Caddy and the Inca.

    The overhead bin used annoy me as it was literally head height in the last caddy so a model for a head bang., Preferred the connect due to the headroom. Why have VAG detuned to 2.0 to 122 bhp?

    Sorry have to disagree with you on the third seat. Vans this size don't really get a third seat, it's more like 2.5 seats. If you want a third seat, buy a bigger van? You have also missed the fact in your review about the Caddy Cargo's lack of payload in relation to other vans in his segment, an important factor when buying a van. I also found the touchscreen distracting , why you need a touchscreen to change the heat etc is beyond me?
    Just my opinions after test driving one for a day.

      Making a passenger airbag work properly with a third passenger seat might have been tricky and made it structurally too much different from the normal car. Three occupants and two airbags could get messy if the airbags didn’t deploy simultaneously.

    • @warrenreidy7925
      @warrenreidy7925 3 года назад

      Hi Mick, in relation to the third seat (bench seat) it must be noted that we regard passenger safety as the highest importance. Whilst others may have the third seat which is handy we feel two passengers sharing a single airbag is not a great idea. This is why the Caddy has one seat and one dedicated passenger airbag. Safety of our customers is paramount. Thanks.
