In the 1970s, Helen Hunt started her acting career as a youngster. She was eventually hired for a popular TV program after working in the industry for two decades. She received both an Oscar for Best Actress and an Emmy for four years running. Several years later, she disappeared.

There is only one reason why you don't see Helen Hunt on screen anymore...age! Hollywood has always been notoriously biased against women actors over 40. With a very few exceptions most female actors get little or no roles past 40 and especially past 50. This needs to change!
TWISTER is a very enjoyable movie...catch it whenever I can! Helen Hunt's role was well acted.

Confession: I fell in love with Helen Hunt in 1994. I was 13. By the age of 15, I've had watch almost all of her filmography. She's, in my opinion, the perfect woman: smart, talented, beautiful, sexy, hard working, well spoken, funny, charismatic, loveable. I loved her in As Good As It Gets! She's just so believable in her roles you forget it's just a movie you're watching. Sad the really good one's leave for whatever reason. You showed Meryl Streep, she's another actress just like Hunt, gifted and unforgettable.

She's attractive. Helen needs to get roles in shows that highlight her skills. Lame, freakish "plots" and crazy strorylines end up damaging her career. I hope she's bright enough to avoid those pratfalls and maintain high standards. Cav thinks she's terrific! *

She was never a bombshell which was a part of her appeal. I have a feeling like a lot of talented actors, she'll get a second wind in her 60s. Look at Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Yeow, Jennifer Coolidge.
Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johaneson, Natalie Portman, Jodie Foster and several more for example.
Helen Hunt looks so much like Jodie Foster at times. She also looks a lot like another actress Leelee Sobieski!

When she was hot, she, like Anne Hathaway, suffered from overexposure IMO. They both starred in way too many movies and people got tired of them. I always liked her, but I remember thinking…does she have to be in EVERY movie?

That tells you that you can derail your career at any moment. I thought once you starred opposite of Jack Nicholson and Mel Gibson and won awards, it means you’ve made it. It should be up and up from there, not down.

I think she is an amazing actress. I wish she would've been patient with her looks, but the plastic surgery didn't do her any favors. She probably would have aged beautifully.

She did what all women eventually do: she hit the wall and turned ugly. By the end of " Mad about you" she looked like a level 40 wraith lord. She peaked with the Live from Lincoln Center's presentation of " Twelfth Night". Someone had to say it.
