Chris Jericho’s character from 2008-10 was truly must see entertaining. One of the MVPs of WWE during this time. From epic World Heavyweight Championship rivalry with HBK to epic Intercontinental Championship rivalry with Rey Mysterio to memorable Tag Team Champions as a part of JeriShow to pretty good World Championship rivalry with Edge.
Breaking Point aired the same night as the King of the Hill finale. I was watching the PPV on a stream and I missed out on KOTH for the DX vs Legacy match. I was disappointed that DX lost to those two dweebs and further disappointed about not seeing King of the Hill because of the placement of that match.
@@quentinkaasa47 do you mean the actual finale episode of koth? or just the last new episode that aired. The true "last Episode" is actually like the 3rd last episode of the last season. If its the later, you didn't miss much lol

And that he can get his heat back is pretty obvious.
I was waiting for this one. 2009 was the year I REALLY started watching wrestling. I was at Extreme Rules live that year too. glad it made it into the top 10.
Backlash 2009 was really epic. Awesome matches, awesome rivalries, awesome stage, awesome theme song and a brutal ending to one of the best feuds of the Ruthless Agression Era. It was the last match between Cena and Edge one on one. It was the culmination of an awesome chapter back when Edge and Cena felt like natural enemies, like Batman and Joker so to speak.
backlash being top honors takes me back a long time, i remember it being the first ppv i've ever attended live, great memories those. Wish i could go back and relive it all over again.
Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, John Cena, Edge, Undertaker, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Batista, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Michelle McCool, Melina, Mickie James carried the entire WWE in 2009. *LEGENDS*
Maybe it's nostalgia but Breaking point is one of the most memorable ppv of 2009. Cena v Orton especially is prop my favourite of the hundred of matches they've had. Two or Three bad/boring matches doesn't make it the worst imo
This was the year I started watching wwe I was only 7 lot of these guys have retired we have some guys still here but still was when wwe was must watch TV used to always watch
Like I said in the 2010 vid, 2009 was a pretty mediocre year for WWE. The reason it’s better than 2010 is because of Jeff Hardy and CM Punk both making the year pretty good. As well as DX returning.
2009 was pretty great. The show formats became lazy and dull when the Guest Host era began. The on-screen product went on a downward spiral and they never recovered from that. It just got worse and worse every year since then.
I think you probably only feel that way because it is the year that you first became a fan so that gives it high nostalgia value to you. Had you been watching for years prior to that, you would probably have noticed how worse the product became this year as the PG era went into full swing and therefore have a very negative view of it like most people.
I started watching in 2009, and wrestlemania 25 has always been one of my favorite ppvs... and damn! It kinda hurts to watch it objectively now and figuring out all the bad things in it... 😅

I would love to see a list on WWE PPVs that had Darker Sequels. The idea came from Adam's list of Every Royal Rumble Ranked from Worst to Best and their entry on the 2009 Royal Rumble.
Punk cashing in on Jeff is one of the best wrestling moves I've ever seen, up there with Bret-Austin levels, no wonder it was feud of the year. Immediate heel turn of a guy who'd been face up to then but was well known in circles as a brilliant heel, and they didn't turn him heel officially for a couple of months. Great angle, great storyline, great feud, it 'made' 2009.
Your least favorite, Breaking Point, was actually my favorite of this year. I really enjoyed the DX vs Legacy match since it was very unique and told a good story. And out of the million matches that Orton and Cena had against each other, this was their best in my opinion. Orton also had one of the best promos of his career before this match which did a great job of hyping the match.
