  • Road trip from Brisbane to Uluru via Mount Isa only to realize Uluru and the Australian outback is a lot more than shown. It is not only about the destination (Uluru), but also about the way-points that are pretty interesting and seldomly mentioned. The road is the journey.
    Enjoy the video as we share some information about our trip and the destinations. Please feel free to ask any questions and comment if you like or dislike the video. Thanks

    Climbed it 6 months ago, started off in the dark before anyone was there and once we were at the summit we spent the day taking a lot of drone footage and photography. Descended in the dark, that would a bit tricky for anyone that wasn't a climber but we climb a lot.

    What a beautiful drive to Uluru and the weather permits especially not during when there are flash floods in the Red Centre during the summer thunderstorms brought too much rain falling all at one.

      Yep, we go lucky with no rain at all during our entire trip. I'd say Easter is the best time to travel as the weather is not too hot and there is not much rain as well.

    Hi, I notice you drive mostly on road but that your car managed the desert sand dunes easily. Could you please tell me are you using road tyres or all terrain tyres ? Thank you

    • @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition
      @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition  2 года назад

      Hi Rob, I am using all-terrains simply because some of the outback travel is on gravel roads and all-terrain provide thicker sidewall and better protection on gravel rocks. They are good on dunes as well but tyre pressure is a key for sand driving. I was sitting at around 18 psi tyre pressure whilst I was driving on dunes. Hope this helps and feel free to ask if you have more questions. Thanks

    Hi, good video with valuable info. Are you able to share your itinerary (e.g. where you stopped for overnight etc) and rough estimate of how much the overall trip cost?
    I’m planning to do this end of 2023.
    Thanks.

      Hi,
      In Barcladine we stayed in - Landsborough Lodge Motel
      In Mt Isa we stayed in a lodge, I don't remember the name but I won't recommend that either.
      In Alice Springs we stayed in Alice's Secret Travellers Inn
      In Uluru we camped

      @@parthvijaydhar4259 We didn't do exact costing but overall the trip was for 10 days so the assumptions are -
      Description Price per day Total price for 10 days
      Fuel $150 $1500
      Stay $100 $1000
      Food $100 $1000
      Misc $50 $500

      @@AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition Thanks. I was wondering did you encounter any issues with border crossings etc. Did you have to stop there? Or it was just open and easy?

    • @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition
      @AmanSandhuAustralianExpedition  2 года назад +1

      @@SoupA150 During those dates, we didn't find any issue. We applied for border pass on time and our passes were approved. Just a day before our travel, we got our Covid tests done just to be sure that we are not spreading the virus. There were no border checks on the route that we took. Probably because QLD borders didn't have any restriction at the time, and Sydney and Melbourne had very few cases. However, due to our previous trip's experience from Brisbane to Perth, we can confirm there were border checks on the WA entry and we were asked to provide evidence (such as fuel transactions) proving that we haven't been through a hot-spot. At the same spot, a lot of people were asked to return as they travelled through the Victoria and they had to quarantine in nearby towns and re-apply or border pass. I'd say, we got lucky because we were travelling from Brisbane and it wasn't considered as hot-spot at that time, we didn't go through any hot-spot and we always kept our fuel receipts as evidence of travel-route. Hope this helps.
