    As a friend of Dan I can tell you his lesson from his own words:
    "Theres a reason why you dont play slow... It increases the chances of getting a kick".
    And hes right.
    Lesson learned...
    He will chase SVB some other time. in my opinion.
    Till then, he made himself a great name.
    Hes truly a colossal player.

    Dan played a great game and probably made that shot, far more often then he missed it. He is playing against Shane and regardless of your skill level, that’s gonna weigh some on your conscience. I think he just didn’t stay down on that last shot. We’ve all been there. Also, I was impressed how Dan wasn’t sped up by Shane’s higher paced shooting. Sometimes that can throw a player off. Well done to both

I do all kind of beautiful masse and elevated shots just for appeal. For sure his pool IQ is up there. There was a beautiful play early I think rack 3 or 2 where the 7,8,and 9 were on the table and he easily can make the 7 but had tough shape to setup a good leave to make the 8 and 9 without traveling around the table. So he does something most wouldn't have done and instead of making the 7 and either using a ton of inside english to stun off the rail to get on the 8 or come 4 rails around the table. So he makes the 7 and brilliantly bumps the 9 to move it perfectly for a easy shot on the 8. He honestly almost made the 9 and for a second I thought he was looking at the two for one and tried the carom on the 9 because it was almost in the pocket in the way of the 8. But after watching him play I see how sharp he is. I'm just lost why in rack 6 he breaks and makes the 6 I think then SVB comes to the table. He can see the 1 and its not an easy make but doesn't touch the cue ball on a push out. It happened earlier also. So Idk if he's just pushing and Shane just let's it sit where it lies or what

      Yep, he poked at the nine ball instead of his usual nice stroke. Since my own shot routine lets me down every time I lift my head up during the shot I always look for the consistency in the pro players routines. Dan has a real nice stroke, but he needs a little more consistency in his shot routine: 1) a couple of times he was moving during the shot even if he didn’t miss, 2) the aforementioned poke, and 3) some times he moves his right foot when lining up the shot and most times he doesn’t. Nice guy, and IMHO he will be a star if he keeps at it.

      I think 2 balls have to pass the head string for it to be a legal break... something like that. Otherwise play switches to opponent.

    • @mikethebeginner
      @mikethebeginner Год назад +2

      It’s called the 3-point rule. A total of three balls have to either be pocketed or go up past the headstring or it’s an illegal break. The purpose it to make players break forcefully.

  • @mt-nv4jd

    • @charleschiera5048
      @charleschiera5048 Год назад +2

      3point rule. Three balls either made or beyond the headstring on the break. He made two balls on the break but no other ball crossed the headstring. That’s an illegal break so your opponent has choice of play or hand it back to you.

    He missed similar shots earlier in the match. Obviously this was for the win. The bigger battle is getting those demon’s in between the ears to stop talking to you before taking that last shot. Another reason why every ball on the table must be pocketed. Sometime you see guys playing for money and with 2 or 3 balls on the table they’ll give the opponent the game.

      No way! keep that crap out of the game.whats wrong with seeing a little character in the game.z shot efren made would never have been a thought with a shot clock. Watched Corey Duel walk around table for 20min. Playing one pocket and finally just taps cue ball and takes a foul but he looked at all options and there were none.

    • @kelvikelv5322
      @kelvikelv5322 Год назад

      @@hustlinao1488, you can't compare 1 pocket with 8,9 & 10. Chess and checkers. Efren would have made is Z shot, but quicker because he's a *Genius.* If the sport of billiards is to grow, attract more sponsors and money, they can't let people like Dan walk around a table for 3 minutes when the shot is obvious. Also, the two biggest games in pool: Mosconi Cup and Derby City have shot clocks.

    • @mikethebeginner
      @mikethebeginner Год назад +1

      I watch pool on my iPad. Then I can double tap 10 seconds ahead until I see something has happened, then back 10 seconds to watch the shot. That way I don’t have to watch all the standing around.
      I think slow play is a real problem in LOTS of sports, pool included. I watched a match the other night with Josh Filler and a guy I don’t know named “Ragnar,” and they both played briskly. They weren’t rushing, they just got to it, only taking time when they really needed to. It was such a pleasure compared to watching most players today.

    • @kelvikelv5322
      @kelvikelv5322 Год назад +3

      Agreed@@mikethebeginner. Spectators will not pay to be lulled to sleep by slow play! Most of the top players get to it on obvious shots. If your opponent locked you up with a good safe, I get it, but Dan walks around the table on obvious, easy shots.
