No one in latinoamérica is barefoot inside. It gets dusty and your feet get dirty plus it's seen as incredibly rude to take your shoes off (or wear sandals) in someone else's house or even your own while there's company.

Can absolutely confirm this also there is one other rule that my Hispanic friends had. Their mother forced them to speak Spanish whenever they were talking to her in the house, but when we went outside and we were going to Walmart or any stores and I was hanging out with my friends as a kid she required every one of her children to speak English in public. It was pretty cool she was all about maintaining their heritage and their ethnicity while also being able to blend in to the community. She didn't believe in forcing others to learn her native language.
