Can absolutely confirm this also there is one other rule that my Hispanic friends had. Their mother forced them to speak Spanish whenever they were talking to her in the house, but when we went outside and we were going to Walmart or any stores and I was hanging out with my friends as a kid she required every one of her children to speak English in public.
It was pretty cool she was all about maintaining their heritage and their ethnicity while also being able to blend in to the community. She didn't believe in forcing others to learn her native language.

its more rude to check the fridge, than to tell the person youre hungry. its rude to assume the host doesnt have food already ready to offer, in the event that youre hungry. because then they wouldnt have invited you.
kinda literally the opposite of nordic ccultures.

Saying hi to everyone is important. When I visited my uncle(Peruvian), aunt(Colombian), cousin and many other family members and friends who are Hispanic, I said hi to every single one of them
