I bought a jar of bait. What is the best way to store your bait and how long will it last once you open it or make it ? Just wondering if it needs to be refrigerated etc. Thx for your video and time.
I would refrigerate or freeze it when you are not trapping in the winter. I leave mine outside all winter while I trap and have no problems with it going bad.
I don't think it will scare them. It just adds some other smells to get them to want the bait. I bet it would work equally well if you decide not to add the fish.
Thanks! I should have worn latex gloves, not only to keep the smell off my hands, but also keep my scent out of the bait. It took a lot of scrubbing to get it off haha.
Pro tip: If you don't put your hand on top of the grinder like that you won't lose a finger! Use a stick or something just not you hand or fingers like that.
Poisons are often not specific to only the target species. Different to different species having different tolerances. It's an active ingredient per kg equation. Also baits can be targeted, e.g. deer don't eat meat baits. And non target species that like the bait can get poisoned, dead if susceptible. Some poisons remain toxic , some don't. The former can kill susceptible species from their carcasses being consumed , enough for the fatal dose for the species scavenging.
Almost all jurisdictions prohibit the use of poison because it kills indiscriminately. If you were to put out poison and it were to be eaten by a protected species, such as the bald eagle, you would be liable for that death and potentially be criminally charged.
Finally, someone made a decent video on coyote bait that doesn't need caster and all kinds a scent glands. Just normal household stuff. Thanks!
I love how you're explaining that it needs to rot while tenderly playing with the rotten meat. That's dedication 👏
Nice. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make and post this.
i use a similar bait but i add some oil of anise to sweeten it. works well.

@@blockethoutdoors Thanks bud
Will mice work ?
Yes, mice will work fine.
Can you put beaver castor in theor to attract them in the bait?
That would probably help.
Does coyote meat work as well
Should’ve kept the mackerel juice for raccoon traps
Good luck this year!!
I use road kill meat deer squirrel rabbit let it rot and works great for me. All free
If there’s no fish in my area should I still use it as bait. Will the coyotes be scared of the fishy smell

@@blockethoutdoors I just added the fish. These coyotes have never been exposed to it so I’ll see. Thanks
How long did it take to get the smell off your hands? (Latex Gloves)
I would think it would work. Definitely would have a smell to it. Good job.

Also a great way to not have any women want to be around for a few days until the smell comes off your hands
Women are used to the fish smell
Easy on the salt bud. Your going to kill the poor yotes. LOL'''
That’s the point of making bait for traps and kill them in it
@@trappertait620 That's the whole point of this video ..dum as*
Instead of dumping the juice out just add flour
This is what happened to Carole baskin's husband
Love it 😂😅
Instead of using it for bait to trap, she fed it to her tigers😂

Just me- I'd quit turning the crank
if I felt my hand getting caught
could you poison this bait and just let them drop like flies?
