I visited there a couple of times in the 1980s and 90s when it was the Hotel Hana-Maui. At that time it felt like an intimate family run hotel. In fact back then they had a diagram on the wall in the lobby with the picture of every employee that showed how they were all directly or indirectly related to each other. The warm hospitality was unforgettable. Back then, the room rate included three meals a day at the restaurant, which really was a good way to run things considering the remoteness of the location and the lack of other dining options (probably more available now in the town then there was 30 years ago!!). When you stayed the hotel you would tend to find a table in the restaurant you liked and then they would keep it open for you and remember your various preferences for every meal.
Thanks for the memories. My parents honeymooned there in 1969, and we went for their 10th in 1979. We hope to take our mom there in Feb. for her 80th birthday. I worry how it might have changed for the worse.
The Road to Hana is one of my favorite things to do in all of Hawaii. Many mahalos for not giving away any secret spots.
Thank you for Visiting this place. The sound of the birds and rain and children playing- with rooms that accommodate normal beings, big or small is a delightful change I welcome. Simple & roomy and nicely done. Its on my list for sure🥰
Beautiful place. Serenity is the ultimate luxury. The resort could definitely replace the Goodwill store furniture. Congrats on your videos! Love the way you show us around. It's really like being there!
Been there 5x from Germany and we survived the road to Hana twice. Be there again in 2018 and 2019! Great video.
I really enjoyed the video, beautiful island and resort, thank you for taking us along! I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and the best for the New Year! 😍☀️🎁🎄
Loved this plan, stayed here for a night in 2010, when it was still the Hotel Hana. Loved it.
My husband and I were married on the beach in Maui in 2008 and took the Road to Hana to visit this Resort. Had a wonderful lunch and wandered the grounds. Super friendly people. Maybe next we will stay there with our kids.
Excellently filmed....lost in it completely
This resort is the best example of the tranquil, cozy understated elegance that many of us desire after enduring the endless, crushing crowds in Oahu. I've stayed at this wonderful little jewel long ago when the name was still The Hana-Maui Resort & Hotel. This is quite different from that beautiful Four Seasons on the west side of Maui, which I also enjoy.
Hana is my favorite place on the island! Looks like you were blessed with a very gorgeous day too! The Travaasa is such a beautiful property. Hope you come back to the island in the future! Much Aloha, Scott
Hi Scott. Thank you for your kind message. Haha is exceptionally beautifully indeed. And were blessed with great weather (just one shower on the way to the national park area). Next week, I will publish my Andaz Maui trip report ;-)! Warm regards
Here you go, Scott: a clip of your working place (and my favorite hotel in Hawaii): ruclips.net/video/3_JXKOCaWNA/видео.html
Creation of nature are given freely to everyone to enjoy.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very impressed that you shown wheelchair accesible room - ADA room
Looks by far the nicest hotel from Hawaii so far because it's not as crowded!
Thanks for the look at the resort! I'd recently been looking into it, as we hope to get to Hana for an anniversary sometime. (My husband proposed to me under Waimoku Falls, back in 2009.)
A happy family in paradise!
i am so glade your kido's was haveing fun there :)
This place is a must for me to explore at some point in my lifetime. I think the Four Seasons Hotel group is the best, though I have never stayed in this brand of hotel.
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!
Great Video. Thank you for posting.
Oh boy! That waterfall towards the end of the video is a real eye-catching scenery. Great tour, amazing family, the peaceful music of flowing and moving waters everywhere. You really have plenty of time to yourself, I wonder when the office sees you... or are you your own boss?
Looks nice. Awesome views!
Fern Fiddle salad, if offered is similar to asparagus, great with vinaigrette.
Thanks for posting!
I had an excellent lunch at this resort. Such a jewel in the middle of no where. I'm itching for my trip in Feb... Can't wait. Any new restaurants that you recommend in Oahu & Maui?
IMHO, the best Maui restaurants are those in the Andaz resort, especially the Japanese dining venue
Yes I concur.. Chef Morimotu's restaurant was amazing.
Very nice...Thank you...
wow! how long were you in hawaii? and do you stay in the multiple hotels you reviewed for a day each day you were on the country or one hotel for 2 days or so?
I stayed in each hotel a few days. Still two more hotel reviews to go (Andaz Maui and St Regis Kauai) and then I am off to a new mystery destination :)
Deze reis zullen de kinderen niet snel vergeten :-)
A nice vlog as always!
Thank you, Patrick, for your kind comments. The kids enjoyed the trip indeed.
Very Very nice...
Question: is breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the price? What about alcohol and drinks? If not how much approximately meal+drinks per person per day? Thank you
Wow! I have to go here. My name is Hannah (pronounced Hana) and my partner is Vasa. Is it a sign? lol. Beautiful place. Add it to the bucket list.
Now you need to put this place on your bucket list
Amazing
Luxury Travel Expert, Are the kids in the beginning of this video your kids? (Your sun and/or daughter)
No.
MY FUTURE HOME!!!!!!!!!😊😊😊
👍
You have a typo in the subtitles.
HAN'A'-- My 100th trip.
Pity you didn't visit Kipahulu Church, where Charles Lindbergh is buried.
GORGEOUS! But... $15 for two pancakes? I'd sooner starve.
When one visits a property such as this, no matter where it may be located in the world, it might be safe to conclude ... and then the “Grand Architect” rested. 😉

It's interesting to read some of the google reviews. Staff on minimum wage and not allowed to accept tips. Food isn't the best few people said. Paper thin walls so you can hear the people next to you. They are all recent reviews... place looks nice but seems overpriced. Tea for $5 etc.
Heaven on earth. Staff does accept tips, whoever said they don’t is just cheap. If you want to give it to them you’ll give it to them.
Also, $5 for tea in a remote area of Hawaii is pretty affordable. Same as Starbucks coffee in the mainland. 🤦♀️

down !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT DIRECT ACCES TO THE BEACH!.... OUT!!!!!!!
