  • Week 4 of shed hunting Iowa 2020 was one for the books. Our buddy Garry joined us from Pennsylvania this weekend, and found an awesome 15 point set off the buck we call "Ghost". On Sunday, we went back to a property that we shed hunted two weeks ago, and came across a heavy 5 point side off of a buck 'Hacksaw' that we didn't have a single picture of this year. In total we found 14 sheds with 90 miles walked between the three of us.

    Film the part when you see the shed for the first time and when you walk up to m. That’s what is all about. The excitement of the discovery.

    Nice video but the one that you kept saying was from this year is definitely from last year. All of my early drops that I find later in the spring are usually bleached out or chewed on, never green. No way they can grow fungi on them in a matter of 3 months

    That small shed with the green on the bottom is last years takes about 8-12 months in a dryer spot like that for green to build up

    Are there dogs 🐕 taught to hunt sheds? Seems like a perfect man dog team effort. The exercise and hunt is great fun but also seems necessary to prevent tire and equipment damage, I’m guessing. They could be taught to search and find bones and sit by them and bark like other dogs do. I know dogs like to chew deer antlers (sheds), but should still be able to be trained. Laugh if you want but there are dogs trained to pull small wagons/sleds that could be your sheds haulers. Dogs love working and being and part of a team.

    Doesn't look like a match to the 8. Two left sides. Who walks nearly 100miles in two days. Your full of crap lol. I picked up 136 sheds this past season that no one found but me. I wasn't counting everyone else's sheds as my count lol. I have a fit bit and I walked on the average of 7 to 12 miles in a day. And that was walking my tail off.

    • @ExtremeElementOutdoors
      @ExtremeElementOutdoors  3 года назад

      Man you must be good to get 136 on your own! As for your 8 point comment, we found the right side of the big 8 in the 2020 week 2 video. BUT I do appreciate the reminder that two left sides don’t make a matched set lol.
      Lastly for the miles comment, I’m taking the total between the three of us over the course of two days. Cool that you use a Fitbit because I used my Apple Watch... both work well.

      I have a shed dog. She's 6 years old black lab. She is Amazing! She herself found 28 last year. And this season I'm actually up too 167 sheds since my last comment. Found 3 today while turkey hunting with my wife. And one hell of a 8pt match set while mushroom hunting two days ago. This shed season Sadie my lab has had to hell of a shed season. She has found 54 herself. If I could post pics here I would.
