So Halsey broke a bunch of laws while working for ONI who are known for breaking laws if it meets with their overall goals. Of which were similar to most of Halsey's goals while working under them. Okay.
Kinda, but pretty much right after this within weeks she stole someone’s personal bird, kidnapped Kelly, went to the Spartan 3s in Onyx and awakened the planet made it sentinels

And so, Keys prevented the Covenant from discovering Earth ... for about 50 days. Still, better than nothing. I have found it fascinating that Cortana chose to jump to the unknown coordinates that ended up saving Humanity. It seems Chief is not the only one with luck.

@@LMG1792 ; I know that. This video literally said that. However, if you watch the original Halo CE opening cinematic, Captain Keys still thought it was a blind jump.
And I meant "unknown coordinates" in the sense that Cortana did not know at the time what specifically Halo/Instillation 04 was. Not that it was completely random.
@@LMG1792 Still a blind jump. Cortana knew what coordinates she was going to but didn't know what was there. Jumping into something blind still requires you to know you're jumping into *something*.

To be honest I don't think red flag would have worked if successful I just feel like the prophets would've come up with some random reason why (insert high prophet here) is weak and would've just continued their genocidal campaign
I agree.... when Regret jumped from Earth the Installation 05 he sent an apology to the other high prophets for his failure. Truth had no issue throwing him under the bus and capitalizing on his death to officially cease control of the Covenant

I think Regret would have sacrificed the captured Prophet if RED FLAG succeeded. But if Regret was caught it might be different. Wonder how differently the Great Schism would have turned out with Regret captured.
Truth never gave a shit about Regret, he was always a means to an end. He would’ve spun his capture as a martyrdom to the Covenant and escalated the war even further.

Reach is the most vital keystone to the entire Halo Franchize, and it was consolidated as Bungie's last breath. Cortana is the derivitive product of a multi sky scraper sized computer. that's a defining principal of her character arch. the most profoundly demanding aspect of human "alien" relationship plotlines.
is cortana actually a being?: how can ew know. the computers plea of self defense wouuld protect it form being disected, whould Cortana then be considered an actual sentieent being Born of the computer?
of course she is. at the root of her existence, she is a tangible substance that develops a learning AI extension of herself. like all colours are tangible and can't be replicated, but must be extracted, Cortana is a Being. being a huge part of what halo 4 was and was meant to be. Cortana's rampancy is a data shortage aspect , but she isnt data, she presumeably has a soul or a technological element similar to one. an self at the root.
this personification of her character was the most wildly profound aspect of Halo Reach. it was Gold. it laid a solid foundation for all plots to follow that enriched and strengthened and liberated them.
Upon Sure Ground to Tread, is the only place of True Liberty.
Cortana, queen of the entire Forerunner technology, Cautioned to evode Human social circles (uses keywords to block out entire IDEAS of corruption, with seemingly minimal literal data ignorance). how does she literallty interact. How does she literally experience Rampancy. What is the story arch behind her Rampancy Management Techniques and how it affects Johns Operating Systtems. its a gorgeous piece of storyfiction. they gave life to a sentient Mote.
as if the entire computer was actually the empire of race, tucked in a corner of a life systaining planet.
