they rap in "can't hold us" "problem" "starships" "sing" & "butter x dynamite" !! "feeling myself" on the SUP3RFRUIT channel is another good rap cover from scott & mitch as a duo
Avi left in September 2017, after having completed his obligation to the tour they were on. The basic reasons were his mother's fight with cancer, and the non-stop pace of touring and the other obligations that wore him out. (He and Kevin were roommates at the beginning, and still remain friends, but only Kevin.) Once attorneys got involved, things were made very difficult for Avi, and he was restricted from putting out his own music and performing for at least 1 year. He recorded and released his Avriel & The Sequoias EP while still in PTX, but wasn't able to release anything new until March 2019, when he put out his biggest success so far, his original "Change on the Rise", on which he does all vocals and sounds (except for organ and tambourine in the bridge). His solo career is doing well, having sold out his 2019/early 2020 shows in the US and Europe, and his music is charting high on the alternative charts and being used in some TV shows, movies and podcasts. A new album is due out very soon, and he has a European tour scheduled for Spring 2022. We're still waiting for news of a rescheduled US/Canada tour. By the way, he's great live, and I speak from experience, having gone to 3 of his 2019 shows.

If you watch New Rules x Are You That Somebody? you'll see that Kevin and Matt also vibe amazingly well.
And as others have said in slightly different terms, every member of Pentatonix past and present - except Avi - actually rap. We got to see Matt rap for the first time in a recorded song just this week in Butter x Dynamite. Kevin raps in Sing and Butter x Dynamite. Kirstin raps in Thrift Shop and maybe Starships, I forget. Mitch and Scott rap the most; Can't Hold Us, Ride, Problem, Starships, the live performances of Can't Sleep Love... but especially Superfruit's Feeling Myself. You should totally check out that Nicki Minaj/Beyoncé cover.
Yeah, Kevin always awesome! He is so overlocked, because people just think drums in background, but he so solid. 😁
Pentatonix is getting their star on the Hollywood walk of fame on 2/21/23 (I believe that’s the right date) all past and former members are invited, so I am hoping that he comes and they have a reunion that day.

Kevin and Avi were called the "Meat and Potatoes" of the group during the Sing Off competition because of how well they play off each other, and are the frame for the group.

I agree, there’s something next level about seeing them do their thing live. When it’s a music video your brain can put a separation between the person and their actual talent sometimes but in these, what you see is what you get. That’s why I love their medleys.

LOOOVED YOUR REACTION! Considering PTX tour in arenas in the US, I highly doubt they are cheaper than a DJ, buut, I would love to be able to afford them!!!! Also, they CAN rap, all of them!! The beauty of this song is that the original is pretty much all computerized vocals, and Mitch can do them so easily, and live, without a computer in sight!!! I'm gonna go and check out your other PTX reactions now!
There is a video announcement of Avi leaving but essentially the pace of their schedule was too much for him and he wanted to spend more time with his family. No hard feelings at all

Kirsty... Kevin is a tenor, Kirsty is a soprano and Mitch is a contra tenor... Even Scott and Avi have great upper ranges.
