The Police will stop you and harass you especially if they get to know you dont live in Gh. Instead of doing what is right in enforcing the basic traffic rules to the comfort of everyone.

Please please the power is now better. Even in the USA, power goes out every now and then. We have all been seeing it on television , the hurricane, the slow and other natural disaster have been rendering some places of the USA with no power.
Exactly. It takes a natural disaster for power to go off in the US, which is expected in areas prone to natural disasters. Sometimes, power outages are planned and we are even notified prior. But for the power to go off as often as it does in Accra for no obvious reason in 2022 is ridiculous.

I look at it this way. Instead of paying taxes to fund the social safety net you are tipping people to subsidize the low salaries. The way I look at it is as long as I get the services I am okay.
They literally have American food everywhere in restaurants, ingredients in shops as well as chains such as KFC and Dominos. However one of the key things to travelling is cultural immersion, including experiencing local food. Also slow pace is literally part of the culture across Africa. Side note: that kenkey shot has me craving some kenkey now.
Why do some Ghanaians take it bad when people say all those things wrong. I saw a lot of what you’re saying Jewel. People don’t like change but want the benefits of change. The regional minister is there fighting street vendors who block the pavements! And the same people blame government for everything. Extortion is done by unscrupulous people who don’t want to be extorted… not just police but regular Joes too with some job post.
Sounds like Ghana might want to consider Customer Service & Time Management. I understand culture and moving at a different pace. But I’d think with how the world is progressing and moving at a certain speed they would also do the same. And there is no excuse Ghana is such a place of progression so much potential but if you can’t loosen those tight ends it could effect them in the long run.
Your experience is not unique, I can relate with you and more. I have not been to Ghana yet. But all you have mentioned sounds so much like my country, this is an African problem that needs to be addressed with urgency. It's an obstacle to the progress of the continent.
I don't know the reason why it took you three days to open a bank account whilst most people open their account within 30minutes hmmmm......concerning the traffic it depends how you don't know the roads better......people drive unsafe directions cos they have not been caught yet and they are stubborn people in every country....you don't espect every to follow the right channel of the law.......and is not force to always eat with your hands, you can use spoon,fork, knife to eat....if you don't prefer the traditional ghana foods, they are more western restaurants and joints to eat every type of food you want, infact every western food is already here and that depends how well you know the country places....
Why don't you go and live in Liberia where you are from and make comparisons between life in Ghana and Liberia. It seems you are proud to be an American instead of being proud as a Liberian

I am wondering if you eat your American junk food (Mcdonald, KFC, etc.) with a fork and knife. You are eating fresh, natural, and chemical-free products. You can get almost every food ingredient that you can anywhere in the world, vegetables, fresh fruits which taste better than anything you have in America, and processed foods that taste like chemicals. I will advise you to enjoy local Ghanaian food, you may shed a kilo or two. I am wondering how many clocks you see in Ghana and how many people look at their watches while walking? You come to Ghana to escape the rat race and complain about the relaxed nature of Ghanaians, where are you running to? You are so much like a Fanti girl or a Liberian girl, I know. Bargaining is not extortion, happens everywhere not only in Ghana go to Times Square in New York and check!
