I enjoy switching as well, especially in Run 8 because the physics is so good. You really get a feel for the massive weights involved. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video. Seems be be a lot of shunting involved in this game, but I guess that is fairly realistic, getting everything lined up in the correct order (unlike some of the cargoplanners employed by a certain Danish shipping company, where container stowage on board the containerships seemed to be: "Let's stack empties right in front of the accomodation, so the crew can't see a thing, and then all the heavy cargo at opposite ends of the ship to break it in half!" = my work here is done). Looking forward to the next video. Take care.

There is a setting for how freight is delivered to the interchange. I have it set to block by destination so most of the sorting is already done. If you want to do even more switching then you can have the cars arrive in random order. With the very limited yard space that sounds like just more work to me. Thanks for watching!

Daily switching starting to feel like dailies in WOW

It does get repetitive. Don't worry, I'll be doing work between episodes so it's not 10 more episodes of me doing the same switching. :)

For your comment at 3:18 you measure the performance of the contract at 3 days (or sets) of 100% + your full reputation that will let you move to the next tier. So on Day 5 you should be able to jump to tier 3 if you have max rep otherwise it will be tier 2 and then the next every set of 3 days at 100% performance to request the next tier. Loved Season 1 especially posting the intertwined live stream video, hope you do the same with season 2 as it applies. Also I vote again as long as you can afford to do so longer videos are desired at least by me. Hope this comment helps your memory on how to tier up a contract.

OK, that makes sense. I do see 2 100%'s on the performance for Whittier Saw Mill as I write this. Thanks for the help.

@@KerboOnYT Your basic option is to step up by 1 tier, but accruing 3 days @ 100%, or you can skip a tier (go 2 tiers) by accruing 5 days @ 100%.
My opinion is that if you step up by 1 tier at a time, you have time to figure out if you can manage things more slowly, and not overwhelm your abilities to keep up with demand at your current equipment level.

Kerbo, the game takes into account commuter hours. So between 6-10 in the AM and then about 3:30 - 6:30 PM there is an uptick again

The observation cars generate more money per fare if they're the last car on the train, they unfortunately only hold 25 people. I run 2 normal cars and the observation one on the rear. Running from one end to the other I make sure the back car picks up only the furtherest possible stations people. It's negligible earnings but every buck counts!

Until you open line to Sylva, keep the loaded log cars on the main track next to the empties when you pulled them. Use the crossover to access them when needed. This will keep them out of the yard, leaving the run around free and keep them closer to where they need to go, speeding up operations.
Please keep the videos coming. They are fun.

Management would be very upset if I blocked the main. ;) Thanks for watching!

Been using this siding to store my pulpwood cars when waiting to be set out. Currently running two sets of 10 to supply tier 5 Tannery and paperboard

Well. people gotta commute. So i guess, that you could do houerly trains during rushhour and maybe a midday and a midnight special for recreational passengers.

The passenger timetable still doesn't make sense for my Railroad. Im tier 5 all the way to Andrews and I have to run 4 passenger trains simultaneously to keep up with demand. Setting that to a timetable is beyond me.

Yeah, I tried it but I feel like it needs more work before I go with it again. I went back to just the old way, plus it makes planning meets with freight easier
