- The Princess of Wales says she is in the early stages of treatment after cancer was found in tests.
In a video statement, Catherine says it was a "huge shock" after an "incredibly tough couple of months".
But she sent a positive message, saying: "I am well and getting stronger every day."
Details of the cancer have not been disclosed, but Kensington Palace says it is confident the princess will make a full recovery.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, all I heard was the word "cancer". Everything after that was a blurr. Processing this kind of information is a process. Even now, 20 years later, I still get a knot in my stomach every time I look back on that fuzzy time. I pray that she will recover well and live to see her grandchildren grow up and marry.
I have never had this awful condition, but know what you mean. When one hears of a diagnosis of cancer, no matter who the patient is, it feels like a physical blow.
I hope everyone prays, and alot.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer when my youngest child was only 19 months old. We were told that my life could be extended, but that I would eventually succumb to the disease. That little boy is about to be 15 and I have been cancer free for YEARS. May The Eternal swiftly and completely heal Her Royal Highness as He did me and allow her to see her children's children to the third and fourth generation. ❤

Abdominal surgery would mean colon cancer. Ovarian cancer would not be as serious as she had with her long hospital stay, secreting out of the hospital, deceitful release of an old, doctored photo, and the very long recovery time.

I have just started chemotherapy for cancer, and one of the things that happens is a need to withdraw, look after oneself and ones family. Putting her family and her self first, show what a tremendous person she is, resilient, focussed and compassionate. Love this woman.

My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer and operated, at the age of 42.
This was in 1972.
Everyone, including her doctors, were convinced she wouldnt make it.
1972 the knowledge, surgery techniques and other treatment, were in its infancy, compared with today.
4 days before christmas in 2011, my mother finally left us. She was then 84 years old, and had a Wonderful life of 42 more years after her battle with cancer!

Me too...especially after such a beautiful good person has been unfairly hounded by Media when she went for major abdominal surgery, recovery is bad enough without being diagnosed with cancer....this is so unbelievable sad...I can't stop crying 💔...I am a nurse, I have all the time patients with chemo....it's horrendous what she must go through, in the same time when the whole world has gone mad and media started harassing her 😢 I hope they will stop! I hope they will at least apologise to her and let her heal in peace! All we need is pray for her 🙏 ❤ God bless ❤
