Owen's ability to manage workload and stay ahead of the airplane is an example to follow. I just finished watching the Piaggio vid on his channel, that as is is this video, is a tremendous example of single pilot workload management. Great job Owen, great video JR crew, keep it up!
The issue flying a jet single pilot comes into play during periods of task saturation and even more so if you start throwing in malfunctions/system degradation or emergencies... Thats where having the second person is paramount to safe ops. Its also why we won't see single-pilot airliners within the next few decades.
@@BobbyGeneric145 flew King Airs, Metros, PC-12s etc all single pilot. The trick is quality of hours and training. Look at the RFDS, single pilot ops in the most challenging GA environment ever with a great safety record. Reason being - training standards and job requirements are much higher in Australia than the US, hence the E3 visa jobs.
I am 70 years old and i would have the same reaction if I were invited to go right seat and take the controls of this aircraft, this is by far one of the best aviation channels ever on You Tube, onward and upward guys. Fly safe.
Great video. Let Sasha do more flying and the bug will make her want to become a pilot too. The two of you both in the air together. I did that with my boyfriend for many years.😊
That was awesome! Thank you for highlighting Owen's cockpit flow and how he managed the workload in such a busy environment, that was useful for a lot of us pilots who might one day want to transition to high performance/turbine aircraft.
You are all about the age of my kids and I fly SEP's in the UK. I had an ear to ear grin throughout this video vicariously engoying your fun and excitement and wishing I was with you experiencing the thrill of a jet 😁👍. Keep up the great vids, always a fun watch.

Ah memories... in 1981 I flew my first Cross Country for my PPL from Gnoss Field (Novato) - also with sightseeing over the Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz - to Carson city. I took a couple of friends in the Piper Lance (I believe) and my Instructor. Never forget the beauty of the Sierras and the emerald waters of Lake Tahoe! Thanks for the memories from Czechia!
Wow, did that bring back some great memories. In 1978, I was 19, a Freshman at Stanford and learning to fly at Palo Alto Airport. To practice radio procedures, I would fly tower-to-tower PAO-NUQ-SJC, land the 152 on SJC's massive runways (I think the numbers were longer than my plane), taxi back and SJC-NUQ-PAO. Great video!
Best to check ahead for ramp fees. They are suddenly out of control at many airports for anything turbo jet. We paid $1100 in Kansas City for a 15 minute drop off. Unable to purchase fuel so got nailed for it.
@brian8833 yeah I'm not a pilot but I noticed that other airplane and thought that was really close. But since I'm not a pilot I just assumed maybe it was a normal thing.
13:30 I LETERALLY *DO NOT THINK* A SMILE COULD GET A N Y BIGGER THAN HER SMILE AFTER FLYING!!!!!! dude she is a keeper even if she is a lil bit psico!!!
❤️ Loved ❤️ seeing SFO from the air. The unique front and where Bart enters was so cool. I have flown into SFO many times. I had a much clearer view from your plane than mine. Thank you.
@@byteme9718its fine for what it purpose was. Now i wouldnt personally pack it out with 6+ people as my larger sized family would be miserable lol. But two up front and two or 3 in the cockpit would work fine
Great video, makes me dream of flying again. I was a private pilot back in 1979 in my twenties. Decided to go to Art school and became an artist. Worked on the Tonight Show doing graphics for Jonny Carson and many other studios.
You guys never go further north (near me!!)... go up around the GG bridge and around Stinson Beach and up the coast. Supposed to be beautiful views all the way. Love these videos.. get to see the ins and outs of what goes on..thanks!
That was very gracious of you to give them the rare opportunity to sit right away at controls for a few moments. I hope to one day get that chance as well. Not pushing my luck though 😬
Great channel, found it today. Subscribed. Did anyone see the Cessna next to you on takeoff climb? Just wondering because you said you were VFR and didn't hear anything on the radio about it. Lookout for GA when you are VFR. Even gliders at 12-18k, that's what I fly, we are rare but we are around, especially in California and Nevada.
holy bat chit robyn N geeves !!! 9:09 WHAT IS THAT 4 ENGINE MONSTER DOWN THERE WITH THAT HUUUUUGGGGEEEEEEEE TAIL FEATHER STICKIN UP IN THE AIR?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?????????????????? WUT was that that HUUUGGE DOUBLE DECKER JET ??? with 2 passenger floors, what WAS that big super double dekker bus, er plane??? freekin LARGE PLANE it looks like!!! it is like the ROTTWILER or MASTIF (doggies) sittin next to the lil bitty MANCHESTER TERRIER !!! :)
Super-Cool boys!!!( PS that Millennium Tower is leaning bad...no way would I stand anywhere near that hot mess! Lol) So much for ATC being rookies....Owen got called out for minor course deviation in a California minute!!!
I got my type rating in a 501SP ... a LONG time ago.. lol.. I was just a kid.. building hours.. i went from Mooney to Beech Duke to Citation in just a few weeks.. was ferrying planes for a broker.. he wasn't much for regulations.. things were so different then.. it was like the wild west in aviation..
Hello JR. At my local airport French Valley Airport (F70) there is a 1959 F-4 phantom fighter jet and the old price was $134,000 but no one wants to buy it so the have you call for a price. The planes engines are both gone and the body of the plane is a little bit beaten up but not a crazy amount I don't know if you are interested in making a video about it but just letting you know. And there is a cessna bird dog that idk if it is for sale. Thanks
Nobody seems to have mentioned the Cessna152/172 taking off on the left hand runway which the Citation overtook . Did no one see it ? 5.55 on the vid ?
Your channel is very impressive. I flew a Citation C500 SN 018 in an Air Ambulance and Charter Capacity in Canada for a few years. The fact that you guys fly that thing and have fun is awesome. To fly that fuel hog ... low level ... and full of Pax and bags is very impressive. If memory serves me correct the thing burns about 22 gallons of fuel per hour out each pipe at flight idle. You boys must have big wallets. The effort you put into your videos shows your commitment to excellence. Well done ... Fly safe and keep having fun !!!!
RE: added INFLATED (borderline hiwayrobbery!!! LOL sniker) maint costs... This is in all actuality, one of the most undesirable private jets available. Low acquisition cost, high maintenance costs. Cabin is TINY, hot and not worth the cost of updating. You cant offer most of these for charter since the majority of engines have surpassed their useful lifespan.

So funny at 13:01 in the video. ATC "Are you navigating somewhere?" OWEN, "no, we are up here just having fun but now will behave & go direct"
Great video. Let Sasha do more flying and the bug will make her want to become a pilot too. The two of you both in the air together. I did that with my boyfriend for many years.😊

I was at SFO when you flew over! Saw the 747 depart and the a380 taxing. I remember seeing a low private jet when i was leaving now i know who it was!
Wow small world! Yea people must have been confused haha.
You guys are living a dream! Love the Citation jet and love seeing your videos! Keep up the amazing work!

Spent a lot of years flying the 500 and the 501. This brought back a lot of good memories.
the 172 I think , on your 11 oclock high at 5:59 scared the crap out of me
Was wondering if someone else saw that. Was that not too close?
@brian8833 yeah I'm not a pilot but I noticed that other airplane and thought that was really close. But since I'm not a pilot I just assumed maybe it was a normal thing.

very cool guys congrats on the jet, safe flights ahead!
really enjoying the channel, absolutely enjoy flying with Owen.
While the Citation is a costly toy, it sure is an awesome way to travel! Great video, and seeing Sasha's reaction to flying it was very cool.
Thanks for watching!

Always great to see Christian ☺️🥰
Nice to see the seats in use. The cabin is where it’s at. What’s the sound level like? Comfortable for long flights or is a headset a must?
It's not too noisy, but you can't stand up. I think after 2 or 3 hours you'd probably want a break.
Owen had his A Game on with that Bay Tour 🤩 Nicely done 👍🏻
Best videos on RUclips !!! Mark

These videos are fun and informative. Let's go JR Aviation.
Glad you like them!
This was awesome. What a great experience for a bunch of friends.
Looks like the format of a Hollywood television show; Friends in the Air.
Owen's a G, that dudes a great pilot!
That was very gracious of you to give them the rare opportunity to sit right away at controls for a few moments. I hope to one day get that chance as well. Not pushing my luck though 😬

I wish you would have done fake traffic and stated that the fighter jets were for you. Would have been fun. Maybe a funny short will still work?
