Made in England (2024) Scorsese's homage to Powell & Pressburger. Beautiful tribute from one filmmaker to his heroes.

Furiosa was great, it felt like a director made it, an actual director. I can't think of anything else to mention, that I've seen, so that's very telling about this years offerings.

The Beast was one of my most anticipated and absolutely came through for me it blew my mind, cannot wait for a rewatch. Felt like I was watching something transcendent in real time. Kinds Of Kindness really worked for me, for some reason I love the desperation and misery - I think it hits on this extreme almost punk rock feeling that we all have deep down but can never really express. Not to the level of interpersonal toxicity in the film lol but just some primal untapped extremity within us.
I loved La Chimera (would love your thoughts on that), Challengers, Dune 2, The First Omen, Kingdom Of The Apes. I can't find a way to watch Evil Does Not Exist anywhere but can't wait for that to be available

I made a conscious effort not to watch the full trailers for Kinds of Kindness. I'm very happy that I did. I consumed the perfect combination of substances and it was phenomenal.
Sidenote: the film was filmed in New Orleans, and that's where I live. So, that particular film was taking place in neighborhoods where I live and work. Talk about a unique experience; that was like a director I loved, making a film for me in particular.
    Thoroughly enjoyed.
