Other than the vocals, everything is recorded direct....guitars, bass, drums, keys. No mics or amps. That gives me the cleanest signal, it's consistent, it's good for separation, and it makes it easier to mix. As for mastering, I use just a little soft attack, that's all.

If you have not done them before, you should do "Brandy You're a Fine Girl" "Dancing in the Moonlight" and "Still the One". all fitting what you're are doing.
Hi Russ, I've always wondered what the heck they play in the intro. After seeing yours I figured it couldn't be too difficult. So I watched some of their video clips and Seals plays a Dm shape on the 8th fret and a D shape on the 7th fret. There's actually another guitar in there...I just didn't video me doing it. It's the Dm shape on the 8th fret and a D shape on the 7th fret. It's also pretty far back in the mix. I let the piano take the bulk of the main riff. Thanks for the info and video!
