    In the sediments another strategic metal has been found that may be not only strategic but essential to national security. Scandium will make the mud under the nodules valuable. The sediment cloud that concerns so many people will likely not occur because the mud will be contained as well as the nodules because of its value.

      Makes me sick to hear it as such an invasive process in a sterile way without the actual negative repercussions highlighted. It’s all about $$. This could have irreversible and immense impacts.

      @@Nokea16 And it might not have any impact on your or anyone else's life. I would rather you were making yourself sick than impeding everyone else's progress.

    @7:15 that was a quick change of tack wasn't it, asked about theoretical point of enforcing the mining rights in international waters.
    If they stated research back in the 60's on mining there, whose to say that 1000's of tonnes haven't been stripped already. And if so which country?
