On the other hand... Omar Berrada couldn't have been a representative of Manchester United in February, could he? He was (and still is I believe) on his own gardening leave from the City job. So if he contacted Ashworth in February, it's not an official inquiry by United.

Players get sold with their permission, and no player agrees to be sold for a paycut without getting what their previous contract stipulated. Maguire makes approx makes 200k/week at ManUtd. West Ham's offer was far less. (I can't remember exactly what they were offering). All ManUtd had to do was negotiate a reasonable buyout with his agent.

It seems a little bit like a reset for England. Looking at the squad from a German perspective I really don't understand how an English fan could say that they have the better individuals over us. Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Cole Palmer are the world class performers for the FA. But we have Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Antonio Rüdiger. 2 years ago if you had asked me, England had a clear edge over Germany with guys like Trippier, Shaw, Henderson, Rashford being able to perform at the highest level as well. It feels as if the timing isn't all that great for England this time around. I hope the 2 teams make it to the final, so we can have a proper comparison.

Because they're bitter and it's United that want him! Say what you want about contracts etc. The usual severance fee is a years salary, which would be about £2m, so £20m is ridiculous!
First off, asking for millions in loan fees, secondly not approaching the club in the correct manner. Whilst Ur new director who doesnt join til June July has approached him whilst on gardening leave and ashworth messing it up and basically not following protocol think those are pretty solid reasons like. Then taking away an asset why would anyone make that easy unless we were financially paid for?

Good luck to HM Shaw should be staying at utd and working on injury prevention training. We got caught with our hands in the till with Ashworth we should get adults in a room from both sides and settle it move on or it will become the soap opera of the summer and overhang any progression. The Ashworth story is just an empty hit piece for clout in the court of public opinion, evidenced by some glaring inconsistencies.
1) Why does Berrada have an *INEOS email address, 6 months before he is due to start work at *Manchester United, an entirely different company?
2) Regarding Ashworth's supposed error: Who in the history of the human race has ever managed to blind CC their work email address during private correspondence?
3) If Ashworth did make such a mistake, how did he not see the email on his work inbox and simply delete it?
4) Expanding on point 3., if Newcastle can see the history of Ashworth's email activity to see the correspondence, it opens them up to breaches in Data Protection law (almost impossible to prove in court that email monitoring is ever justified - certainly not in this situation)
You ask why would Newcastle go to the effort of fabricating non-stories?
Answer: They are a state-owned entity. Public perception is ** everything ** to the success of sportswashing. Fallibility is not an option. Even if a story is total nonsense, many Geordies will be chuffed to read it, and confirmation bias will turn lies into truth forevermore in their minds.
