OMG, how I miss your video in the past. Absolutely good dope for the very beginner and almost solve my problem as a golf rookie. Very impressive guidance with cute smile :)
Michele, As always, great drills. I especially like the check to ensure you weight is 95 % on the left side (Right Hander) and that you can lift the foot. I know I am repeating myself, but thank you for making excellent videos with easy to understand instructions. Regards S.
A lot of it for me was setup and ball positions. Practice swing hit the ground find where you hit the ground, ball position right in front of that slight divot you took. Then a little key that’s helped me is at address take the club the leading edge and place it behind the ball right at the bottom of the ball. And take a comfortable grip that keeps the club there. Different for different lies. If it’s fluffed you’ll start to realize you don’t really dig the ground, cause you to hit top of the face, if it’s plugged you’ll need to get down and get it club up and swing smoother, if it’s tight I’d say take the divot but follow through
Hi Michele. I haven't top my shot for quite sometime but yesterday, i did it twice on the back nine and both of them were with my pitching wedge. One from the hard ground and second one from the thick grass just off the fairway. It doesn't happen very often and that is why i have no clue on how to fix it. Perhaps, with your drills now, i hope i can improve on this. As always, thank you so much for your wonderful drills. By the way, you have amazing swings and your practice facility looks beautiful!🤗👌👍👍👏👏👏❤
Hi Michelle, I have been watching all your videos and am definitely a fan of yours, as they have helped a lot on my game. I hope you will also do a video on why shank occurs and how to correct it.
Michele, thank you so much for your tips. As always, I love watching your videos. Those are excellent drills for fixing my swing and stop topping shot. I will practice it today. Fix Top Shot = Adjust Ball Position, Adjust Weight Distribution, Water Bottle Drill and Stop the Sway.
Oh I love that last one with the water bottle. Never seen that before, thanks. Most of my misses are tops, getting better, but definitely going to try this.
Hi love! I used to do that with my 3 wood a lot, one day I learned it should hit just like an iron n my 3 wood r back alive n cover roughly 200- 240 yards! Topping a golf shot is never a good feeling, I'm glad I figured it out. Good stuff.
my trouble is usually with my fairway wood. moving the ball towards the middle of my stance helped but the other day i did it twice, once in a fairway bunker that cost me dearly! While this lesson was about irons i suspect swaying or more likely tempo is the culprit but other than paying attention to these i am lost. it is not a constant problem but is recurring. This vid is helpful though because i Michelle has identified a lot of causes which i can work through. i suspect it is tempo, falling back or early extension, an old habit. Since it happens seldom but is usually impactful i will just have to watch closely i guess. Thanks Michelle your videos are always interesting and helpful.
The bottle drill is quite interesting, thanks. Any other drill to train the right movements for the trail foot in order to use the ground force and push better?
@@michelelowgolf7501 Please do, much appreciated. Very interested in what you might have in mind regarding to the trail foot pushing during the transition and downswing. My junior girl (early teen) tends to unknowingly lift her trail heel early in the downswing. After a few years of coaching by several PGA pros, that tendency is still evident - which causes weaker compression and consistency. Thank you.
Great video. I also see a lot of players who either stand too far from the ball and thin or top it, or stand too close and then pull up into downswing alternating between fat and thin.
Excellent tip for beginners. But there are swing coaches who advocate to position PW to 7i three balls from the leading leg. This is to make sure one aggressively shift his hip towards the ball on coming down. But I prefer your recommended position.
I love your videos!! I just treated myself to a golf simulator so I'm trying to improve, but now I'm broken. I'm hitting 90% of my 7 irons about 20 yard carry and the ones that are high are way right. I'll try these drills next because something is horribly wrong. Thanks for simple drills to determine the problem.
Good drills to try, especially the feet together one for both me and my wife. I had an odd back to back 7 iron approach shots on holes 17 and 18. Both slightly under 150 yards uphill a little but down wind a little. They were almost identical shots, fairway shots. Bother greens are very long from front to back. On 17, I finished on the green but on the front part. Yet on 18 I hit the same club over the back a bit. I had similar ball flights but did feel the contact (divot) was slightly better on 18. Does it make sense that the second shot flew so much further?
During practice (without the ball), i always manage to hit the right spot without any problem, i can feel the club just slicing above the ground. However, when I use the ball, I found myself hitting too early (club grounded, just before ball). Any idea how to fix this?, thanks #giri, bandung, indonesia
Every time I finished playing, the next day I felt pain in my neck, it was difficult to even turn to the left. What's wrong with hitting the ball? Or am I in the wrong position when I hit the ball?
@@michelelowgolf7501 Don't know why that's so hard...since I do keep my eyes on the ball when hitting a tennis ball... maybe because I've been doing that for forty years...Golf 2 months! Thanks for all your video lessons...so helpful!
Best teacher on RUclips. The drills really help understand what’s going on in the swing. Thank you.
So glad. Thank you

Terrific drills and explanation of early extension. So many people including my dad said I looked up when in truth and was lack of rotation.
Thank you Michele for the clear and concise explanation! The last tip did the trick for me. Tried it out today on the course and was flushing it!
Wow! You just made my day’
Thank you, Michelle. You are a crisp and clear coach. Best Wishes to you in all your endeavors.

Aloha from Hawaii. Mahalo for sharing your teaching skills

WOw! nice advice! Kinda true on the "look up" issue, and now i know it is actually due to the early extension of my right side! Thanks Michele!

Yes, if you hit it solid, you will get more distance out of it for sure. Thank you
Please do a course vlog on how you approach each shot. Thanks
Definitely have that in mind.

Got to keep turning the body, don’t stop at impact :)
What kind of drill that i need to do to eliminate this?
Every time I finished playing, the next day I felt pain in my neck, it was difficult to even turn to the left. What's wrong with hitting the ball? Or am I in the wrong position when I hit the ball?
Make sure you warm up properly
👍👍👍👍👍

Hi! And for a driver going low height!? I tried Several lofts but I think it is not the loft is the cause.
There are few reasons why is low, ball postion, weight distribution and club face. Got to look at the swing to figure it out.
It has just rained and my ball landed in the rough. I topped it, and it sunk further into the ground, i almost buried it :')
Try out the drills :)
