5:27 - so while he says the epitome is the Tesla scene, he may have also been talking about one of the shots that got me to go online and look for answers. In the beginning of the film they are driving up to the property for the first time, I was very curious how that shot was done. There appears to be a helicopter/drone shot from above following the car so precisely that the car looks locked into a very specific position in the frame. It reminded me of the taxi cab driving around the city from zodiac. For that shot, it’s all CGI. The reason the taxi doesn’t move at all in frame is because it’s all digital. I wonder if that’s the case here or if they used the stabilization technique that keeps whatever you select locked into place.
And then without any obvious edits, the camera Drops down from the sky and gets a little behind the car and swoop down through the front lawn almost between two trees to show the house. I assume that is actual footage but I don’t see how the same camera from the sky could come down that below, so I presume they are two different shots. And when the camera comes to a stop in the front of the house, it looks so completely locked down as if it were stationary on a tripod. I don’t know how a camera could become so still after swooping down from above the house down to the grass, and almost through the trees. Unless again, that final shot was stabilized so much that it appeared locked down.
