- I had so much fun doing this "girly" hairstyle on Hector. This style was inspired by a style I used to wear when I was younger. Luckily, it turned out nice on him!

Nice hairstyle. But I think it's more girly than men's. But I'm a boy, too, and I had long hair, and I had a girl's hairstyle, too, because I wore a ponytail.

We just trimmed his hair last night. Yes, I can next time we have to trim.
Not for him. It actually accelerates growth. I had to trim his hair last night due to many split ends. Our ultimate goal is healthy long hair.

When you trimmed/dusted Hector's hair were either of you nervous?
I initially wasn't until I saw that a little more than usually needed to come off. But once I started I was ok. I remember Hector sounding a bit nervous, asking how much needed to come off? But once I showed him we both felt better.
@@therudepack glad it worked out. How much did you cut? A half inch? More? Less? We always found that the longer our hair got/gets the tougher it is to lose any of our length. Here is hoping you do not need to cut again for a VERY LONG (no pun intended) time. I am sure Hector was just a little afraid. His length is getting spectacular
@@therudepack glad you had a teady hand. Lol. With Hector's hair length any slip of the scissors could result in the loss of months of growth . I hope he was not too nervous. If he were to go to a hair salon they probably would want to cut off two to three feet of his hair if not more! Most stylists are scissor happy hair cutters who do not respect our dedication to our very long locks!
@@larsrapunzel2297 it helps that I'm not new to cutting hair. I cut his and our kids. I just cut our niece's too. I love cutting styles, so trimming and dusting his is easy. It's just that we waited too long and wound up with lots of split eneds. But I agree, stylist get too happy! I had one cut off a foot of my hair without my permission. My dad and I cried. My hair was never the same since.

Is Hector thinking of growing his hair to the knee? How long do you think that will take?
He is trying to grow it to the floor. I think it will take him about 1.5-2 years to reach knee length.

Women's hairstyles on men I think look ridiculous.
Trying to find that balance can be hard at times, especially once a man's hair reaches a certain length.
Please do not be negative. They obviously enjoy doing what they are doing. They love the styles and they love his length. Let's support them as he grows his hair to the floor.
