I just KNEW you were gonna go this direction with the aesthetic and damn did you deliver. Love your work dude! And massive extra points on setting up the opening shot and pulling in with a leading line.
Thank you!
Very peaceful and inspiring video. Thank you for sharing.
You should be making movies not RUclips videos, awesome work and thank you for sharing!
🙏🏻 someday hopefully
Yes, he is quite brilliant! And these videos make an impact emotionally and spiritually. Love it.
Although your images are superb I am always in doubt what to like more your video or your images cause your videos, in combination with the choice of music, are top notch, too.
Excellent, thanks for sharing !
I really like your sense for composition and the feel for a coherent work. From cinematography to photography.
Thank you for showing us Japan in this way and form.
Thanks!
A joy to watch as I sipped my early morning coffee and enjoyed my breakfast. The perfect start to the day. Thanks for sharing your journey. 👍📷👍
Lovely film. Quite mesmerising. Thank you.
Watching this video is like a meditation. I find it peace. Love the black n white photography and the music. One quick question. How do you shoot yourself or is someone shooting you while you walk away?
thumbnail >>> Contol, Corbijn movie, there is a moment with Ian and his HATE jacket
Ivan always delivers great picture and vibe in his vids.
That’s so inspiring 🎉
Thank you!
Nice work. I enjoy your videos
One word to describe this dare i say. Documentary style film.
INTENTIONAL.
Absolutely stunning my g!
🙌🏻
Had to view this after your recent review of the TTArtisan 50mm tilt lens. Interesting to see it used for video. Well done!
Great work. Photos and video are both very good.
beautiful, thank you for sharing
this was a great finale after watching a video showcasing the work of Michael Kenna
Great one!
Are you using tilt-shift lens for taking this video?
This is the first video I have seen from you and the photos, video, edit, music all of it is just breathtaking. Amazing work!
Absolutely mesmerising
Thank you for this.
this looks like an Ozu film ❤
Beautiful video!
Absolutely amazing, it doesn’t get better than this……..
Very inspiring. The algorithm gifted this channel to me. I love the locked off video shots. I wish more people adopted this style. Love the photos too.
rlly your vibes 😍
There are only a few places and circumstances where you can set up a tripod with your camera mounted on it, hit record, drive completely out of sight, and then drive back to record yourself. Love it.
Japan is one of those places 😂
Quality work as always.
Yurt
Great work man!
8:13 really lovely
Alright, b&w im coming home! baby don't leave me!
💪🏻💪🏻
Great video.
beautiful!
Beautiful!
Thanks for all the inspirational videos.
this work its absolutely amazing man! =)
Thank you!
A lot of different elements coming together in the video to deliver a beautiful yet melancholic tone. I imagine Ivan could have made something similar from any small town that has it's best days behind it. Doing it in the dead of winter seems about right. 👍
Always inspirational, Ivan. I strive to have videos as calm as yours.
Thanks Bryan!
wonderful video, makes me want to take my camera and immediately go out and shoot and ist 3am here
Shoot when no one else is shooting 😉
Sick
Wow.
Its the rural energy & tea sipping for me
As always excellent. Is this 28mm lens on nikon f2 ?
28mm F2.8 😌
Your B&W is beautiful as you deepen the shadows for a punchy image, just as I do. Love it! That unmistakeable sound of the FM2 shutter and wind on. I have the same camera. I think you will be making movies at some stage or a Director of Photography in the film industry judging by your videos. Such a joy to watch. I like the solitude your videos give me. A man of few words, which means you like the video and the photos to be the narrative. Just my thing.
Thanks Simon, means a lot to hear that 🙏🏻 Always been a goal of mine to do something filmmaking related, hope I’ll get an opportunity to someday!
@@ivunchow Well Ivan, your videos are on another level to anyone out there and your photography is too. Usually I can see the switch from a still image to video, but I got fooled many times watching this video thinking it was a still until I saw movement.
Wow, I'm on a Ferrania P30 kick as of late and your B&W graded video almost looks like it was shot on Ferrania P30 film. Nice job, loved the photos too. I suppose you dumped the Nikon FM3a and switched to the FM2N. Have you tried the Ferrania P30 film yet?
FM3A still here, FM2 is an addition 😌😌😌
Thank you for taking the time to make this peaceful video.
Wow!! This is really good man!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is stunning. The compositions, layers, the depth and contrast, just beautiful. I really loved this video and your work. What’s the camera and lens set up that you utilized for the video?
Thank you! I’ll be doing a video soon about my video set up, stay tuned 👀
@@ivunchow awesome, will do and looking forward to it.
Another great video bro. Yr movie skill is always the best. I love this all BnW feel road trip. So prefer to show the snow and mountain. 😍😍😍
Beautiful video, Ivan.
Thanks!
Not sure if you've been told, but I stumbled upon your videos lately; the only thing that I can say is, they're eye-catching. As if you want to grab a snack and just watch the videos till the end.
Love your storytelling, and taste in photography as well as videography.
Keep it up, it is awesome.
Melancholy but beautiful, calming. Thanks Ivan. Lovely.
Found the tonality in the video maybe a bit dull, but images were amazing. And loved the slow peaceful storytelling.
great story telling! Thank you very much for making this video!
A very different perspective and most enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing with us.👌
Thank you for this beautiful calming video.
What focal lenghts were you using?
50mm video, 28mm photos
@@ivunchow all on full frame sensor/ 36mm film?
Every upload from you is like a short movie! I enjoyed this one
Really enjoyed this Ivan. Great work as usual.
Sublime. Video paces well, sets a perfectly evocative mood, and as always, it is well-shot. Great job Ivan!

I enjoyed the video very much! Great work ❤
Very impressive. Thanks!
A magnificent and inspiring video!
Great visuals as always man. Seeing Takayama really brought back some memories for me. I'd love to see the onsen monkeys one of these days too and live the same life 7:55 lives xD
Shit and bathe in the same pool? No thanks 😂😂
@@ivunchow the less you know.... ;)
This looked incredible!! Such a calm pace and beautiful images, well done Ivan!
Thank you!
Thank you for showing Japan in such a monochromatic, peaceful manner. The music was the perfect pairing and watching this put me in a relaxed state of mind. I really enjoy your work and it's an inspiration for my own.
