We regularly clean our house, service our cars and prune our gardens, but we have a culture of not regularly clearing out our mental and emotional rubbish/trauma that is no longer serving us, instead we bury it. I look forward to a world when it becomes ok to regularly nurture our inner selves and the tools to do this are common place. This will help us reconnect to our true inner self and each other
bro, everybody always talks all this deep shit about alcohol and I’m just over here wondering, does anybody feel like me? I’m just addicted to it because I think it’s super fun. It feels really good and makes everything double the fun.?
I feel the same way. I don’t necessarily do it to escape anything. It’s just something that makes things way more fun . But I know that’s a slippery slope so I try to limit it
I liken it to a vacation. Some people travel to see a new place, while others just want to get away from home. They need a break. When drinking or substance use gets to the point where it’s being used to escape, then it’s a bandaid for a deeper issue/challenge.

That’s probably because you are still in the „good part“ of the addiction. Once after you gone through this hell you reflect what caused all this
