Kristie… I cannot thank you enough for not only bringing this to my attention so I can be on the lookout, but also for putting in the emotional labor to make this video. Despite the fact that you had to read and speak those hateful words about yourself and your marriage, you made a well done, well thought out video standing up for yourself and the entire LGBTQIA community. You hit the nail on the head with everything you said here. “You don’t have to be hateful to be harmful” is such a FANTASTIC point. Your words have so much power and I am so proud of you, and will always be in your corner to support you❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️🌈
Yes, lots of Homophobia, it’s sad! Why can’t people just be who they are without being judged! My son is a 40 yr old gay man. He’s going to the Pride Parade in NYC with his new boyfriend! I just want him to be happy! Hubby and I always supported him! I also had a twin brother who passed in 1989 at 32 yrs old from the AIDS virus, a friend of his created a quilted square which is in San Francisco, it’s the AIDS Memorial Quilt. We are supposed to go forward, not back. Nice that you are dressing your dolls in Pride outfits! Looking forward to watching! 😊Thanks for reading 😊 🏳️🌈 🏳️🌈
I'm sorry you lost your brother to AIDS. So many AIDS-related deaths could have been avoided if it hadn't been viewed as a "gay disease" and homophobia hadn't caused it to be low priority for years. I'm happy your son has found someone to share his love and life with and I love that he has two loving parents who have their priorities in order :-)
It’s such a shame when religion and politics creep into the doll community. For us this has been one of the best and supportive RUclips groups to be a part of because of the diversity of the channel creators and viewers and it is really sad to know comments are being posted that are segregating a group or just hurtful. Thank you for making this video and bringing awareness to this issue.
Thank you!! Also, I saw you did a premiere of the DIY Hogwarts Express at the same time this aired and I cannot wait to watch that! I know it will be amazing :-)
Kristie, this was so articulate and well done. You are wonderful. Your love is wonderful. LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE! I was watching/listening to the video while getting ready for bed and I said "YEP" out loud very loudly several times! My husband even came over and was curious what was going on and then was saying yep right along! My channel is a safe space and will always be. I grew up going to a private Christian school, and I was taught to love others and as we got older those "teachings" seemed to conflict with the overall original message. Luckily, myself and so many of my family members realized the conflict in those teaching and have spoken up and out. "You don't have to be hateful to be harmful" and so many other things you said ring so true. Thank you for making this video and for being you! 🏳️🌈🌈 HAPPY PRIDE!!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 And of course as always, loved the dolls and the outfits! It inspired me some pieces in my collection to use. As well as some things I need to make!
I love imagining this. High five your hubby for me :-) And thank you for sharing your experiences growing up. I'm not religious at all but over the course of my life I have been involved in two religions that were both homophobic. Not an easy thing to reconcile but I'm glad my reaction was eventually to leave rather than self-loathe. Thank you for committing to making your channel a safe space, and HAPPY PRIDE!!
Thanks for making this video. It's heart breaking to hear what felt like such a safe community has folks like this. AG has helped me heal from so much but one was that I've escaped a cult that made me hate myself for being queer. They told me it was a choice and let me tell you I tried really hard. I truly believed them. I dated so many men It was hurting me so much and I didn't fully know why because I wouldn't even let myself think if I was gay or not because I was told it was a choice.😢 So to hear the thing that helped me heal has people like this. I mean I know there's hateful people everywhere but this was the one community that felt unlike any other community I've been a part of. I'm glad to know there's people like you that are safe spaces and will share the safe spaces. Also queer folks didn't take the rainbow hateful religious people started rejecting it Because they didn't want to be associated with the possibility of it. I have clear memory of going around to the club fair my freshman year of high school and being given this adorable rainbow ribbon. I was wearing it enjoying myself and my pretty new ribbon when somebody said Oh you are... And I asked what because I did not know that it was associated with that. Sadly the year before I had joined the Mormon church so I quickly took the pin off and threw it on the ground😢 I have to live with those memories including the memories of boycotting gay marriage in my state of Massachusetts. Just because your church tells you sharing hateful stances isn't hurtful or isn't hurting anybody especially people at your church doesn't make it true. We are everywhere including in your churches. I almost lost my life because of trying to make myself conform to something I never was and because I was autistic I just believed what I was told. I truly believed the church was true and the things that they said wouldn't leave me down the path that would hurt me. It's funny I haven't felt or made any plans to unalive myself ever since I came out and left the Mormon church. Choose love even if you are in a church that disagrees. That's exactly what your commanded to do is to choose love and these people are choosing the opposite by telling religious folks that they have to say the things that is being said. It's the antithesis of what your churches are supposed to be changing if they file Christ. He would choose to associate with people that are cast out because that's what the He did in the Bible. I don't like to quote scriptures but I will for folks like that let me who is without sin cast the first stone. The only person who is supposed to judge is the person religious folks claim to follow.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. It sounds like it was heartbreaking and dangerous for you to invest so much in an institution that wouldn't accept you. I'm glad you made the decision that might have saved your life. I will never be able to understand how so much hate is spread and so much harm done by so many religions. That bigotry is in virtually every community and certainly the AG community is no exception. That said, I'm happy that there was enough pushback last year that people kept their hate quieter this year. I don't think it was a sign of hearts and minds being changed so much as people not wanting to face backlash for their homophobia...but at the end of the day it meant Pride was more festive and less hateful, so that's some sort of a win.
Being gay and an AGtuber myself, I am very happy that someone spoke up. While no one has exactly attacked me for being gay and an AGtube, it saddens me that people still have that backwards way of thinking. Years back, someone commented on one of my post (not here on RUclips, I think it was on IG) why I like dolls when I am a boy. I didn't mind so much that I was misgendered (I identify as female) and just chalked it up for them being ignorant. But anyway, I am glad that there are more supporters than haters.
I am glad no one has been unkind to you and I do choose to believe that there are more loving, accepting ppl than haters. I hope you're having a wonderful Pride month surrounded by ppl who celebrate you!
You have such a beautiful soul and I appreciate you and your content. You’ve made your points so beautifully without getting ugly about it. I tend to get semi ugly with it tbh. Like I get so mad about some of the stuff people have the nerve to say at me. I will debate on their level but when they keep saying the same thing over and over and ignoring every point I make I do kinda tell them to shove their disingenuous opinions where the sun don’t shine.
We don't owe it to anyone to respond in palatable ways. That was a choice I made and one I felt like I COULD make. But when our very existence is vilified it's not always easy to respond calmly and that's sometimes that's okay.
@@agtakesover yeah. That’s fair. I think that I get especially angry about this stuff due to all of the anti trans rhetoric and legislation being pushed right now and how that could be dangerous, even deadly to people I love. It doesn’t feel like a difference in opinion, it feels like persecution. Human lives don’t get to be determined by a group of people’s hateful opinions. Their “opinions” are killing us and their failure to see this is nothing more than wilful ignorance and I find that appalling. But hey, they can keep pretending they’re good loving people to feel superior.
I remember as a young child watching ag tide thinking this community of people were people who accept each other no matter what, but now as I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed that this community isn’t all I thought it was, I remember people freaking out about the 2021 girl of the year because she had *gasp* gay aunts who were married to each other and I remember watching a video about it and she said “there should be a warning about it” and I’m like, a warning for what
Yep - a warning for a loving, stable marriage. Makes all the sense in the world. smh. And I knew early on that this community fosters a lot of racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. Fortunately, it's also full of a lot of people who are loving and who want to grow and learn and do better. That's the crowd I hope I'm drawing ;-)
21:44 I have that pin too! I wanna say it was from an American Girl doll hairstyles book and it came with 2 of those, 2 itty bitty clips and a hair and or 2? I know I still have at least one of the rainbow bobby pins 😂 I love the outfits!
Thanks. It's really sad that in a time when information is so abundant...when people could easily educate themselves, broaden their worldview, open their hearts, and reap the benefits...some choose to dismiss people's experiences/love/identities (or worse - to condemn it while pretending they're full of love).
Thank you for this video! You articulated everything perfectly, and made things very clear to understand so that learning and growth are possible. Happy Pride!
You're so welcome! NGL, my first take on this video involved a lot more anger and snark and though I ultimately opted to take this more measured approach, I was LIVING for your comments on those posts ;-)
I love all of the outfits! Thank you for speaking out about homophobia on AGtube. I had no idea this was happening. I thought the AGtube community was a safe space for queer people but I guess that’s not always the case. As a young agtuber who is part of the lgbtqia+ community this video really meant a lot to me. It’s so strange how people can’t just mind their own business and let people love who they love and be who they are. Love is a beautiful thing in all forms and people should never be told to conform to societal norms. I wish nothing but happiness to you, your wife, everyone in the queer community and allies. ❤️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Thank you, honey and I hope this has helped you and Grace express your love for your family. I am a 66-year-old woman, a doll collector and have been married to the same man for 45 years. I also have a gay grandchild and a trans grandchild so we are a proud part of the LBGTQ+ family. Our pride flag waves from our front porch along with the US flag. And to the person who compared embracing rainbows to murdering in the name of the National Anthem; our country has done this since it was founded. Ask any Native American. If it is all about the dolls, enjoy the collections and stop lecturing others about how to live their lives.
Your comment Made. My. Night. Picture me slow clapping to every bit of this. Your husband, your grandkids, I, and a whole lot of other people are better off because of who you are
I know I’m watching this 10 months late, but thank you. The transphobia and homophobia in the AG community is so sad! I’m trans and queer and it just saddens me seeing all these hateful people in a community I love so much, also agaknuftchdjkhd your dolls are so cute!
Thank you! Thank you for watching it, for taking the time to comment, and for being here in this community in spite of hateful people. We have just as much right to be here and be safe and express our joy as anyone else!
When buying Pride related things, for my dolls as for myself, I'd love to buy from Queer/Trans owned shops -- I wonder if anyone's compiled a list of those (similar to how others have for Black-owned business).
I don't know if anyone has compiled a list, but one of the shops I just purchased Pride merch from is BIPOC and queer owned, so I'll gladly be sharing that info :-)
My fav outfit was the small scale styles one - I JUUSST missed out on the last set of those. I'd wanted to dress my dolls for Pride, but my lo-cal here in So Cal observes it in July, so I'm mentally lagging a bit.
Aw, it sucks to miss out on the good Etsy outfits by just a few seconds. Also, random question but is the same person that had the firstlast account? Haven't seen anything from that account and you mentioned SoCal so I wondered.
@@agtakesover yepyep, not sure why it's showing up differently now! I was away for a little less than 2 weeks, offline on a sort of camping trip, and even once I got back it took me awhile to sort of.. get back online.
@@fthurman Oh good! I was wondering where you went (well, from FB I knew about your fun trip - and amazing get-ups-). And a slow re-entry into the "regular world" is probably not a bad thing ;-)
Well said Kristie! You are amazing. Those comments are truly horrific and good for you for so calmly and clearly calling it out for the hate it is. #loveislove
Thank you! It's interesting how those same ppl will go quiet all year and then feel "compelled" to start spewing the same vitriol and fake love again next June. And it's also been interesting (disappointing) to see that some of the people who spoke up as allies still see fit to support the accounts whose attacks they condemned. I don't need allies in June. I need allies year round. (Sorry for the rant but performative allyship drives me bonkers)
Thank you so much for addressing this topic! I have a friend who is part of the lgbtq+ community and I just feel sad when I see post likes you mentioned. It is nice to see a positive pride post like this one!! I really enjoyed watching this.Happy pride month everyone, and just know there are people who love and support you!❤🏳️🌈
Thank you so much for speaking out. I have had the whole “we can have different opinions and still be friends” argument used so much and I can never seem to get them to understand human rights is not a matter of opinion.
Yup. People will only understand that message when they are ready for it. In the meantime…. we have no obligation to listen to it for the thousandth time
As a fellow middle aged queer in a non traditional family, I just had to comment in support! I know many of the people in our little doll community are young. Perhaps too young to really know where folks like us have come from. That we never had elders because they were taken from us through indifference, hatred and neglect in the face of HIV/AIDS. Your response will likely never be viewed (or at least viewed in good faith) by those that are spreading their homophobic messages. But we know that our responses are not for them. I’ll be damned if I won’t be the visible, loud and unashamed elder that I so desperately needed when I was a scared queer teen. Thank you for your class and tact. 🌈
My (queer) teen recently asked me if i thought being gay was a choice. I told them that I truly did not care either way and that the question is a trap. We don’t deserve rights and respect because “we’re born this way and can’t help it”. We simply deserve rights and respect. Period.
I’m a Christian and as Christians we are called to spread the love and truth of God. We are not called to spread hate or harm to others who share different ideas or views. I’m sorry you and your family have to go through this. Y’all deserve love and a safe space. Please note not all Christians or religious people are the same.
Michelle, thank you. I'm not a religious person at all but I am fascinated by people's belief systems, the role that faith plays in people's lives, etc. I suppose you could say my interest is more academic than reverent but even a more clinical interest reveals that some ppl of faith choose to lean into interpretations of their sacred texts that focus on forgiveness, humility, understanding, and love while others lean into interpretations that emphasize judgment, rigidity, and intolerance. I obviously prefer ppl of faith to go there former route, but I also think it's important that ppl love and accept me without it being "in spite of" who I am and who I love. Because when Christians tell me they "love me anyway" that isn't really love. I do know plenty of Christians who love me. Full stop. Not "in spite of", "even though", or "anyway". And that is wonderful :-)
Mad respect ✊ 🌈You have the best dressed dolls for pride! I love Nellie’s first time outfit. I remember my first pride outfit. Silence = Death tee and over size overalls. 🌈 Thank you so much for the shoutout too!
Aw, I love that you remember your first pride outfit! What a fun memory. I don't remember my first Pride, but I got to take one of my older daughter's friends to their first pride and I remember it vividly. It was right after the ruling about about marriage equality and my daughter's friend had recently come out in high school. They were struggling with some not-so-accepting reactions from a few people and it was such a cool experience to watch them look around and realize, "This is the future I can have and there's a whole loving, supportive community here for me."
I'm so sorry that you've encountered so much hatred lately. I've never understood people's need to butt into other's lives and think they can dictate how they live and who they love. On the plus side, all your dolls look amazing in their Pride clothes.
Hi Kristie and Grace. I am so sorry that this has become an issue and it is causing hurt to you and your family and the LGBTQ+ community. I fully support you and remain on your side and in your corner. I have had many Queer friends in my lifetime and still do. Love is Love end of story. This video was very nicely done. You speak eloquently on the subject and are a great role model for all those out there who are in need of support, clarification and friendship in the name of dolls, pride and love. ❤
Thank you so much. It does my heart a lot of good to read all these lovely comments but even more importantly I hope it will reassure others that there are safe spaces within agtube and that there are a LOT of loving, affirming people here.
Hey Kristie an Grace,I'm soooò sry 😢.I stand behind ù both 100% alway's. Love ur channal Kristie and can an do support ù❤. Ppl will be ppl, ignorance is ignorance ,uneducated is soooò sad😢. Love to ù both, stay strong💗🌹. Lisa
@@Sandy42800 Thanks! They definitely look cuter than I do at Pride. At 44, I'm most concerned with avoiding sunburns and migraines while we enjoy ourselves so it's "FUNCTION OVER FASHION" these days lol.
First, I hope you and Grace are doing okay and that the excellent part of the AG community is helping support you through this; it absolutely sucks to have your fun hobby suddenly become a place where you have to suddenly evaluate people to determine if they're safe or not. I'm sorry that you came across those comments, but I thank you for letting us know that that sort of stuff is happening and for addressing it (my block game is strong in all forms of social media, so I am very, very lucky that I don't encounter it very much anymore). I really appreciate your going through the comments and quoting them, and also refuting them. I'm queer and Jewish, so these sorts of comments grind my gears from... multiple angles, we'll say, but I'll not devolve into a full-on rant in your space, lol. I'm just so appreciative that as a creator you are willing to not just let these things pass by quietly; you've consistently shown up to address the various forms of bigotry and grossness that are, unfortunately, present in our spaces. So thank you. I hope other creators take courage from what you do and work to proactively address this stuff so that folks who think in bigoted ways understand that they AREN'T the majority and maybe start to examine their beliefs and actions more seriously. We could all do with a bit more curiosity. I really, really appreciated your sharing the names of the folks who DID address the comments in the moment; I'll definitely be checking them out and am happy that several people I follow are on that list already. Also, these outfits are absolutely adorable and your dolls could totally hold their own Pride parade. My favourite outfit was definitely Royce's, but I could be a bit biased, because it's Royce. She makes everything look amazing. I wonder for Simone's outfit if there is some sort of corded belt you could use to create some more shape? Because that dress is so cute for Pride purposes, but you're right, it's a little shapeless. Maybe something like Julie's meet belt, OG flavor, could help it out. I also really liked Deja's outfit; it was simple but very cool. I'll definitely have to check out the shops you mentioned. (I really need to take a month and devote my doll budget to etsy shops exclusively...) I am so tickled by the two piece outfit with all the different Pride flags, too. It's so cute and fun and I LOVE when lots of different identities are represented! Thank you again for sharing, and much, much love to you and Grace and your fam.
Also, I was totally thinking it would be fun to do a Pride parade photo shoot. But being over the top, I'll want to make flags and signs and maybe even a float somehow lmao. We'll see. I know I won't get to it before the end of the month (heading to the benefit sale today!!!!) but maybe I'll do it after the fact and be ready for next year. And I was thinking a belt might work for Simone's outfit. I'll play around with it and see what I can do.
@@agtakesover Could definitely build it all in April or May and then release several videos over the course of next June, showing folks how to make their own flags, signs, and oh yes, a float. A float would be so cool. Could probably even build something where the shell can be reused for other floats, in case there are other parades people want to recreate. I know you schedule and plan your videos pretty far out - a whole year from now might be your record? Or do you have something scheduled for winter of 2024 already that would beat a year from now as a scheduling record? ;-)
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I really appreciate the safe space you’ve made with your channel, and everyone’s outfits are so cute 💞
You are so welcome! I'm glad it *does* feel like a safe space. I really do want that to be true, and I get that creating safe spaces isn't just about what we don't allow, but it's about ensuring people see themselves reflected, they feel appreciated and seen, etc. So creating and maintaining a safe space is something I'll always work on.
Not Logan in the sequin short shorts 💀 😂 ETA: But in all seriousness, thank you for making this video. I’m relatively new and not the most active in the AG community but was alerted to a trans phobic doll account and blocked her, but it’s still disheartening to learn that there are those willing to poison the well for LGBTQIA+ members. I’m ace myself and I remember my first pride where I walked with my school (carrying the Asexual flag and wearing a tank top with a rainbow of parrots) and feeling so affirmed meeting other asexual folk like myself, and it’s a feeling I want everyone to have in their own unique expressions of love and gender.
Reading through the comments, two other people told me their Logan is gay. So apparently what we learned in class today is Logan is queer and we're making it canon lmao. And thank you for sharing your first Pride memories. I don't remember my first one, but I've now been lucky enough to attend Pride parades and events in Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, New York, Houston, Managua (Nicaragua), and Mexico City.
First, I'm so sorry that the LGBTQ+ community has to experience this kind of hate. AG-Tube should be a safe place. It's awful that my fellow Christians are choosing to act so un-Christ-like - he accepts everyone and they should too. Love is love! Second, your dolls' Pride outfits are awesome! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
The dolls all look amazing in their Pride Celebration outfits! I enjoy your videos so much and it makes me angry that you're being trolled. Keep your chin up and keep doing you!
People's homophobic arguments can be so dumb... not everyone is religious, not everyone believes in god. As an atheist, I couldn't care less what god thinks about who I am. Plus, the same people who use the bible to justify homophobia also ignore other parts of the bible like "love thy neighbour". The AG community is one of the only places I notice homophobia on a regular basis... I'm grateful I live in a city and country where people in the LGBT community can be safe and have rights. Happy pride, and thank you for creating such a well thought out video
Yeah, I'm not religious at all (a friend used the term militant agnostic once and it made me giggle but it isn't an inaccurate way to describe myself...maybe unconcerned agnostic lol). So no, I'm not worried how my life fits into someone's religious beliefs. I am, however, jealous that you live in a city and country where queer folks are safe and their rights are protected. Can't say I can relate. But things can change (the expression "hope is the last thing to go" comes to mind).
@@agtakesover I saw a Tik Tok of every country that has an above 90 on this LGBT safety index (I forget the name). It takes into account how citizens feel about the community and how the laws affect them. The only countries to score above 90 were Canada (90), Iceland and Greenland (not technically a country but still counted). I’m a big drag race fan, and I saw a clip of our prime minister meeting one of the queens and giving her a sponge, which is an iconic inside joke. He was even a guest on the show. I’m sure these were done with PR in mind, but it’s nice to know that your country leader accepts his citizens. Compared to Canada, the individual US states have much more opposing political views and are allowed to each make their own decisions regarding LGBT topics.
@@AllycatlovesAG Yes! I've been jealous of your PM since 2015 :-) Utterly unbelievable how different the leadership of two neighboring countries can be, and embarrassing to be on the "bad example" side when it comes to human rights and diversity issues.
I am loving all this outpouring of support this video is receiving! I've been reading your responses to comments too, it's awesome to learn more about you through them! You really are an amazing and inspiring woman, Kristie. The seeds you're planting in ignorant folks minds WILL take root and flourish, choking out the weeds. ❤
@dollahlah-54321 thank you so much!! What incredibly kind words! I have to believe you're right because I've seen it happen. Plant good things and many won't grow, but some will and it will be worth it.
Sorry that you had to endure hateful comments. I love your video and comments especially the one that states “you don’t have to hate someone to hurt them” this is so true. The dolls look ready and and proud to celebrate pride month. My favourite is no. 26. Sending you and your beautiful family lots of love ❤
Thank you so much. I hope that this video can prompt someone to pause and reexamine their views but I know ppl don't change until they're ready. So more realistic goals are that it helps ppl feel loved and accepted and encourages channels to explicitly state their support for the queer community. :-)
Everyone deserves to have a safe place and no one has the right to invade that place. I appreciate and respect your openness and honesty about your relationship with your wife. (I wish my husband and I were that close.....lol.) The best meme I have seen the month read: Be careful who you hate. I might be someone you love. Take care! ❤
I don’t follow the community tab on AGTube, so I was unaware of what happened. I’m so sorry. These “Christians” have forgotten that “God is Love” and that Love comes in many forms. You have a beautiful family, and I’m thankful for the safe space you’ve created here. While I’m just an ally, I will always be supportive of everyone. Your dolls look lovely dressed for Pride! I love Royce’s rainbow overalls. 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
So excited for this video! The homophobia in the Ag community has absolutely disgusted me. After looking at the posts again I discovered the homophobic creators have now deleted all comments and replies supporting pride. At least I found some awesome new and accepting channels because of this, but it truly does sadden me.
I totally agree! I saw the same thing. Luckily, I took notes before pro-LGBTQ comments were deleted, so in this video I'm able to show some love to the channels that spoke up ;-)
I hope so! I do struggle to see it because I don't always know what *actions* to take to help that happen, but I try to have faith that it will. Thank you for helping renew that faith!
I have so many wonderful gay family members. I love love them and their partners very much. None of them are going to hell. Long live the rainbow 🌈 ❤ 💙
I believe the Creator made enough rainbows for everybody to enjoy however they want to!! Thank you for your very thoughtful commentary. The dolls all look so adorable ❤.
I've seen way too many posts like the ones you mentioned. This past week I felt really down about it. I'm glad to see more people like you making pro pride posts. Thank you for mentioning me and so many other agtubers in the video. The outfits are all so cute and I will definitely be checking out those shops! Happy pride to you and your wife and everyone else! 🏳️🌈🌈❤️
I'm sorry those comments robbed you of some joy. They did the same for me. I hope it helps to know that out of all the comments I'm getting (and you can see them mounting up here) only two have been hateful ones I had to report and block. I'm not sure if more of the world is loving or hateful and intolerant. I'm really not. All I know is that I want to surround myself with genuinely loving people and I'll do my best to help create a safe space here.
Thank you for addressing this. It seems that last year and this year have been so bad. I don’t understand how “Christians” who are supposed to live everybody have so much hate. I know they have hate in their hearts because some of my husbands family are them and they all try to excuse themselves with these tired lines about love the sinner hate the sin. It’s so hypocritical. Sorry. Got off track there. I continue to love your Deja. When I play with my 112, Harmony, I sometimes think to myself, Harmony Deja. Also, I’m glad that I’m not the only one with a gay Logan. My Logan is actually Kurt Hummel from Glee. I love the outfit that your Logan is wearing! So perfect!
@@melangellperry5984 Thank you, as always, for your kind words. I always enjoy your comments. I totally approve of your Harmony being Harmony Deja. Also, you are the second person to comment that your Logan is gay, too. So apparently one thing we learned in class today is that Logan is queer and we're making it canon🤣
I am an LGBTQ ally working in a behavioral health business that supports LGBTQ individuals. The most important people in my life and in my community identify with one or more of the definitions for LGBTQ. I have found that people can choose to focus on love, acceptance, and forgiveness in their spiritual path/religion or they can use the label of the religion to justify hate, discrimination, segregation, etc. The lack of education and the modeling of hatred and making others wrong for them to be right has promoted a great deal of harm to LGBTQ communities and individuals. In the AG doll community, I would love to see and participate in a pride parade (tag) all year on Instagram. I love your new outfits and am looking for something for my dolls. Thanks for sharing your point of view and Etsy referrals!
Thanks for the video. I want to add my dads research stores and vendors on Marketplace and Etsy etc before buying products. We don’t give money to folks that hate our family. Happy Pride AGTube. 🌈
Yes! It's hard to *always* be sure your money goes to businesses that support you, but it's not hard to put in a little research and that research can go a long way!
Thank you SO much for making this video! You tackled these points very well, and I am so glad that people are speaking out about THIS now rather than pride itself. The love disguised as hate is quite frankly very disgusting, and some of these comments were absolutely insane! “Hate the sin love the sinner” is so harmful as well… I can’t believe people who claim to love and support anyone will call others’ relationships “sinful” or “immoral.” I swear every pride month more and more people show their true, homophobic colors, and it’s just awful! Also this is off topic, but did your Logan doll come with neck strings? I’ve never seen one with neck strings before!
You're welcome. I was angry, sad, disgusted, and lots of other things while reading those comments. My initial take video attempt was a lot more pissy and snide and, while it was justified, I decided to stick with the approach I usually try to take here. I hope it helps. I definitely appreciated your "hope you feel better soon" take on those posts, though! Seriously, it cracked me up and was a bright spot in some really crappy days. And no, Logan didn't come with neck strings. He had the "bad" eyes and I swapped them out but replaced the zip tie with neck strings :-)
I think you and your wife are awesome and I’m happy y’all have each other!! I watch all your videos you make me and my mum laugh sometimes and you just seem real not popularity fake like some RUclipsrs lol and ppl that are hating on lgbtq are ignorant just like the ppl hating on different races it doesn’t matter what color you are or who you love you aren’t going to be perfect no one is we are just all humans trying to live our lives and be happy and the God I pray to and believe in loves everyone the same the only ppl going to hell are bad ppl loving someone is never bad ❤ 🫶☺️
Thank you so much. We are indeed lucky to have each other. And I'm so glad I give you and your mum the occasional chuckle (I did realize after the fact that I missed an opportunity to work GayGTube into my video lol).
You are the most articulate AG RUclipsr and I always thoroughly enjoy your videos. It is heartbreaking the these bigoted people polluted the AG community in such a horribly negative way. It is even more distressing that some of the hateful, harmful commenters were teens. I normally watch RUclips via Roku and cannot comment via that route, but I had to drag out the phone and speak out. We in AG world must speak out about such heinous practice. Thank you for your posts. I certainly hope you will continue. I would be proud to have you as a daughter (or granddaughter?)
I don’t know why people can’t live and let live. We should celebrate everybody. My cousin is homosexual. I love him very much and he is a great guy. He will do anything for me. People are so bigoted. God loves us all for who we are. People are prejudiced against me for my religion and the fact I have schizoaffective disorder. I love your dolls outfits for pride week. Also, your dolls are so pretty.
Are there any list of these accounts? That way some of us won't accidentally subscribe/ support them? Maybe even have to clean out our own subscription.
I have no problem with people and their religions, until they start to pass judgment on others!!! Only a hypocrite would say: I don't hate you, but you will burn in hell unless you believe the same way I do!
My darling step-daughter, you are a wonder and a joy. When I came out in the mid 1970s, even the gay bars were not necessarily safe. The only way we have any rights now is because of large and small acts of courage. Standing up to tell the world that we are human beings and we demand the same rights as anyone else. I urge people to use the old race equivalence test if they are not sure a statement is homophobic. This is done by substituting any racial group name for the suspect name. if it now sounds racist, then it is homophobic.
Somewhere in the comments someone said that the question of whether or not being gay is a choice is a trap. That's irrelevant. What's relevant is that we deserve respect. Not because "we can't help it" but because we inherently do. Like you said, "we're human beings and demand the same rights as anyone else."
@@agtakesover oh that’s cool 😅 I just wanna say that I have an ally and I do support the lgbtqia+ community I don’t celebrate pride though bc my fam is homophobic but I am not
Oh my gosh, those comments are just sickening in so many ways. I'm so glad that all the channels that I follow are supportive and welcoming places to all lgbtqia+ people (as is my channel). It's so sad that there's so much hatred in this world that it has extended to agtube. Happy Pride to you and yours! 🌈
It is sad indeed. But I'm grateful for the channels and viewers that ARE welcoming. Also, I just took a look at your channel and holy crap you are talented! I don't sew but I do love cosplay and dressing up, so I'll definitely be checking out your videos for some inspiration :-)
So I actually have a rebuttal argument for a lot of these kinds of comments. I’ll never claim to be an expert but I do study what Christians refer to as “the Old Testament” which is mildly offensive but I digress. We call it Torah. I do also have a nuanced understanding of the foundational principles of Christianity. So then saying that god is upset about us using rainbows to represent our community and to celebrate is an issue of its own. Nobody is supposed to speak on gods behalf. So like yeah beautiful hypocrisy. Next I would like to express that in Hebrew the translation is taken to mean man is not to lie with boy, the reasoning to back this argument is that in this section of the Torah, is condemning the actions of people in surrounding cultures, such as idol worship and stuff. The act of men sleeping with boys was common in surrounding cultures at this time. Horrible, yes. As far as I understand it, there’s not a separate word for man and boy in Hebrew at this time at least, I don’t know about present day because I’m not exactly fluent in Hebrew and only know a little bit in relation to the Torah. So translated, context was lost. (Funny how it condemns pdf files and a lot of Christian authority figures are guilty of this but the Christians pretend it’s not a thing) So that entire argument they make when pointing to their bible and shouting hatred is completely incorrect to begin with, it’s a mistranslation due to ignoring the context. Additionally the bible is translated from the Latin translation of the Greek translation of the Torah, not directly translated from the original Hebrew, this loses so much context. My next point is, it is agreed by most sages that the Torah has 613 commandments. Christians, due to their beliefs that the act of Jesus dying for their sins makes the Torah no longer relevant thus bringing about their “New testament” and making 603 of those rules no longer relevant, applicable, or necessary would then mean that they don’t even truly believe their own religion’s foundational beliefs or they just want to have a reason to spew their hatred. Not a good look either way. Plus last time I checked those 10 commandments that they still view as being necessary to follow doesn’t say anything about homosexuality either. Weird. If they want to use scripture they don’t even follow really to condemn others on the basis of one mistranslated rule, many of them can be condemned by likely 611 (in some cases 612 if they’ve murdered anyone) if we are to look at how often they don’t follow all of these rules. I know they eat pork. I know they wear garments of mixed cloths. I know they hate and envy and judge others. Funny how the rules always only apply to everyone but themselves. I digress. But my final points are these; this is america not everyone follows the same religion and people need to realise and respect that. So even if the religious argument worked in this case, it doesn’t apply as they want to force it to apply. My next point, it is not any persons place to pass judgement and tell people how they presume god feels about them. That in and of itself is a condemnable action far worse than what they are trying to condemn. So like nice try homophobic Christians, but it doesn’t work that way. Can’t have your cake and eat it too. Either follow all 613 or don’t point out the one you wish to condemn others for. Also learn some friggin Hebrew and historic context before even trying to make any such arguments. Their religion isn’t one I practice, follow, or believe in. Thus they cannot be an authority in how I live my life. It is simply not their place. They sure tried it.
Gay is not a choice some woman are only attracted to woman and some men are only attached to men. People do not choose it but even if they did it's not wrong to love someone.
Wow those comments 😳 Just gross and disgusting. I hope a few people who made or liked those comments watched this video and are questioning some of their beliefs. I’m so so sorry to you and everyone else who saw those comments. You are all beautiful and amazing and worthy and perfect the way you are!! 🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 I love all your dolls’ outfits and that bobby pin is perfect! Okay that second to last look with those overalls 😍
Yeah...so far I've gotten three homophobic comments (that will never see the light of day) and one was from someone who had commented before on the original posts but decided to double down and get really mean. Ah well...some others may read and think about it. Maybe it'll plant a seed that doesn't take root for a while. All we can do is try. And YES about those overalls. So cute, right?!
Thank you so much for making this video! I have a trans daughter and one who is lesbian. The bigotry in the AG community is loud, so we must be louder, pushing back on the hate. We must love louder, support one another louder, and be ultra visible. Thank you again for this video - I’m so glad I found your channel.
Thank you! I was at the benefit sale this weekend and though there might have been ppl there who recognized me and intentionally didn't say hi because I'm queer and visible, there were others who came up to say hi and specifically thanked me for being visible and vocal and that was wonderful!
@@agtakesover how was the benefit sale? I never had a chance to go :-( Its completely inexcusable for people to be horrible just because you are being authentically you. It’s their loss. I love watching your videos and seeing your content as a fellow adult AG doll collector. Thank you for your voice and for being on AGtube!
Thanks so much! They're so stinking adorable (I, on the other hand, look like a goob at pride events with my hat and sunglasses and everything from head to toe screaming "function over fashion!" lmao...but I avoid sunburns and migraines and have a great time)
Love the outfits! my favorite ones are The Grace mini me outfit and doll, #9 Alice and #11 Logan! I can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos! You are a very eloquent speaker. I wish I had that talent. I get right to the point and would be telling people where they can take their god and where they can shove the rainbow! The degree of bigotry in this country against gays, people of color and different religions is very disheartening. Be proud and know that many people of varied backgrounds support you! Happy Pride!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I always appreciate reading your comments and I'm glad my channel is a happy place for you. Also, how freaking cute is Logan's shirt?!? That shop had so many good shirts it was hard to narrow it down.
i love this video. i was infuriated with the replies i got from my support of pride - i was raised catholic, don't pray for me to repent and find god and the light. i'll pray for you to learn to love everyone which is what god tells them to do!! convenient to forget the single most important message of your religion. also logan's outfit is everything. happy pride ☺️🫶❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
HAPPY PRIDE!!!❤🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ I have far too many points I'd like to comment on, so instead of writing an essay I'm just going to say YES! Yes to everything you said! I'm in the UK, so there's not so much of a religious issue here, but we have gone from being one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly countries in Europe to 17th place, which is both terrifying and heartbreaking. Anyhoo, I'm here, I'm queer, I enjoy watching your videos. I'll say it louder for the people in the back, "HAPPY PRIDE!!!" 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Thank you for taking the time to write. It sucks indeed to feel like your country is going backwards. Sometimes I try not to think about it and just focus on my little family and community and home and my tiny role in this huge, overwhelming world. But other times I'm all too aware of how much we're regressing. I'm sorry the same thing is happening in the UK. I'm glad my channel is a safe, fun break from that for you. Happy Pride!!!
I'm so sorry. I know how disappointed I was and I hadn't been subscribed to any of them for more than 9 months. It would be so much more awful to have felt you knew who they were for years and then read that stuff.
I'm so sorry Kristie. The speech is disgusting, and yes I would totally unsubscribe to someone based on homophobic commentary. We were so excited when Obergefell came down and everyone could get married - the regression over the last 6 or so years is just terrifying/rage creating. As always, you handled it with grace here. Super cute outfits!
I remember when that decision came down. I was in my car driving to the bank and I just sat in the parking lot and cried. I finally got it together enough to go into the bank and I was grinning like an idiot. I remember the bank teller commenting something about me having a good day and I decided in that moment I didn't care what his views were...We'd waited too long for that day and I had to share it with someone...anyone. So I told the teller with tears in my eyes, a smile on my face, and a catch in my throat, what news had made my day so good. And I remember him being caught off guard by this random customer now standing across from him and crying, but he recovered quickly and said, "Congratulations."
Great video, how you put it in to words are hopefully educational and inspiration for many. If i had a channel i would love to support the gay community but i do something even better, i teach my kids to be open minded, have a big hart and respect and seek understanding for others 🥰 I have only one item for one of my dolls, i bought a Amnesty Internasjonal pride brachlet. Inspired by your outfits, your dolls look smashing, i must find/make some for my dolls 🤩 Happy pride ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Now I need all of those pride shirts...my bank account is going to hate me. On a more serious note, it makes me so sad that a community made of people who were ridiculed for their interests are now doing the same thing to people in their own community.
Of course!! And thank you - the dolls look cuter than I ever do at pride lmao. (My look is definitely "function over fashion" as I try to avoid sunburns and migraines ;-)
You did an incredible job on this topic, Kristie! Your points were clear and educational, your admonitions fair, and I did discern a thread of real compassion in your counsel, despite the way you had been made to feel "less.than" 😢 I think that was a REAL example of Jesus! At a recent doll show I attended in person, an older gay couple were congratulated on their recent marriage after decades of being in a civil union only. With deep emotion they explained how amazing it was to be married, how much more complete their lives were. We were all so moved! It was beautiful. Your dolls all look amazing in their adorable outfits! Happy Pride to all of you! 🌈 🏳️🌈 🌈 ❤🎉
Thank you so much for sharing that story. That must have been sooo touching! Today my mom (she's married to a woman) told me she got a thank you letter from a neighbor she's never met. My mom's house is the first house in her subdivision so everyone passes it. She has a pride flag out (as does her next door neighbor) and apparently the neighbors who wrote her the thank you are a male couple who recently got married back-yard-wedding-style. The note said that seeing the flags as they entered the subdivision made their guests feel safe and supported and more at home. And that spoke volumes to me. You never know who needs to see and hear our support :-)
I do understand wanting to know. I was unsure how to handle that, but ultimately decided not to name them. I DID, however, make a list of channels that responded to homophobic posts with pro-Pride messages, so be sure to check them out ;-)
Of course!! I genuinely do hope some of those people will come to realize their views are not, in fact, loving. And if that time comes I hope they will brave enough to open their hearts even if their friends, family, and church tell them not to.
would someone be able to let me know what channels are posting negative content like mentioned in the video? i have no interest in gossip or attacking them for their views i just would rather steer clear of people who are homophobic
Some of those comments were ridiculous. Others were just stupid. None of them should be said. It is nice to hear you speak out so eloquently. Oddly enough I must have never subscribed to their channels, since I didn't see anything of the like here or on instagram. Maybe I just missed them if they were all on the comments section.
It's crazy how people can internalize and blindly repeat arguments that just don't make sense. The cognitive dissonance it must involve for people to convince themselves that their fearful biases are actually love...boggles my mind.
Kristie, I'm so sorry to hear that this is going on. This is why I call myself a follower of Jesus and not a Christian. Jesus himself had a HUGE problem with self-righteous religious people and preferred to hang out with people who knew they were sinners, not people who thought they were without sin. None of us are without sin, which is an archery term and simply means "to miss the mark". We all miss the mark. None of us are perfect. Jesus would love nothing more than a world full of selfless people who serve one another in love, but we are all flawed in many ways. However, no one goes to hell because they sin. We all sin. Jesus would be alone in Heaven if that were the case, because he's the only human without sin. We only get to heaven by accepting that Jesus died for us. We are saved by God's grace alone, not anything that we do or don't do. I think the people posting these comments are completely missing the mark, but it's not my job to judge them either. I really enjoy your channel, your dolls, your fashion sense, your sense of humor and your perspective as an adult collector. And I enjoy Grace's Instagram posts as well. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my comment.
I'm not a religious person at all, so someone's views of who I am based on their religious beliefs doesn't hold a lot of weight for me, but if ppl are religious, I absolutely prefer to see them lean into the messages of love than messages of hate. Thanks for voicing your support and love!
@@agtakesover Thank you for your response. That makes sense. It would be like a Muslim telling me who I am according to Islam. I remember one of our pastors wisely advising that we not impose our beliefs on people who aren't "part of our club". Of course, we would love everyone to follow Jesus, but we can't make anyone do anything. But I would be negligent if I didn't tell you that, even if you don't believe in Jesus, he still believes in you. And I wouldn't be who I am if I didn't ask God to bless you. So, God bless you! :)
She totally is repping the pan flag. And we could pretend Nellie lives in Houston - when I lived there they had a nighttime parade because it was so unbearably hot during the day :-)
thank you so much for making this video. i’m not gonna lie some of the comments you read made me laugh a little bit lol. i love the ag community. i feel like it’s able to bring so many different people from all different places together, but it is so filled with homophobia that a lot of the time i also feel scared or unsafe being part of it. it’s so strange that a lot of christians claim to be all about loving everyone and respecting others no matter what but then if someone is queer or trans we are told we need to “change our ways or spend eternity in hell”.
I hate that there is an aspect of this community that makes you feel unsafe. We just have to keep creating and cultivating safe spaces. I really appreciate that you're doing that!
Before I finish the video, I'll leave my thoughts below this comment, I just wanted to say that your channel is a safe space for me. I'm non-binary and pan so seeing some people in this community say awful things hurt, but at the end of the day I knew I had one channel I could always go to and know I would be supported, so thank you for that. I believe you should respect everyone, regardless of your views, and it just blows my mind that people get offended over other people's choices. Let me live my life how I want to.
Okay, I've now finished the video. I love that you addressed the problem while still being respectful and polite. I noticed as well a lot of them were teens and while I do think they need to take responsibility for their actions, I also believe that they need to learn in a way that won't convince them of their thoughts on lgbtq+. If we're mean and vicious about it all it's going to do is settle what they already think they know- we're devils on this earth they need to help. All your outfits were adorable, I think my favorite was the one with the meow mix and match shirt. Happy pride month to everyone, From Kavi and Caroline, Kit and Paisley (TM 65), and McKenna (who uses she/they pronouns)!
Thank you - that means a lot. I've been thinking a lot (again) lately about how people announce their channels/accounts/classrooms/whatever are safe spaces. Or that they are allies. It always takes me surprise when people "decide" they have created a safe space. I know that spaces become safe not just because of what we exclude from them but also because of what *is* there - action, humility, understanding, etc. The most I can ever say is, "I hope to provide a space that feels safe to others and when I realize there is more I need to do to make others feel safe here, I will try my hardest to do those things."
This sucks im christian and bi aroace. I wish other christians could realize their hypocrisy.😭 Literally our whole religion consists of loving everyone. I don't understand why some people can't accept the fact that others are different from them. Are they afraid or something? Its so dumb that they care about other strangers differences so much that they want them to go to hell. Anyways I'm done ranting😂. Your dolls outfits are adorable! Happy Pride month!❤❤
Thank you! As someone who is not religious, I am not concerned with how Christianity (or any other religion) views my sexuality. My love is based on respect, consent, and support, and that makes it ethical and beautiful in my book. That said, I obviously prefer people of religious faiths lean into the love their texts teach rather than embrace messages of hate and punishment, so I'm glad that you are able to get love and tolerance from Christianity. Hopefully some of our fellow doll collectors will join you! In the meantime, Happy Pride!!
First of all your dolls are all cute! I want to comment here because I’m bisexual and asexual and I’m also Christian. Something I have noticed is that SOME Christian’s tend to use their religion and as excuse for being hateful towards others. The Bible, that I have read and studied says nothing about being gay. I will only go to churches that recognize this and will not tolerate Christians who do not. I’m honestly unsure what these homophobic people will do when they find out that there are gay Christians because there actually are. Religion doesn’t belong with bigotry and I’m so sorry that people were saying such hateful things. I actually do have a channel and I fully support lgbtqia p and I’m so sad that people like this make hateful posts. If they were real Christian’s they wouldn’t be saying such things or spreading hate and attempting to justify it. Sorry my comment is so long it’s just that there are multiple gay families in my family and I’m always worried that they will get comments like this when they’re just trying to live. I remember thinking something was wrong with me because I’m asexual and I realize that a lot of people need to know that nothing is wrong with them. So I hope you continue to be loving and have a good safe space on your channel! I hope my channel can also be a safe space and I will always support and be open about these issues. My channel is katespastelife .
Thanks for sharing - I'm not a religious person either way, but it certainly helps us non-believers when people who identify as Christians glean messages of love from their faith rather than messages of hate. And yes, there are definitely queer Christians - one of our friends is a chaplain and she and her wife are both Christians. BTW, I looked for your channel under @katespastelife but didn't see it. Maybe try replying with the url?
@@agtakesover I agree! And that’s awesome to hear! And uhh it’s a very new channel and I only have one video so far! I feel like I should have mentioned that it’s a new channel.😅 youtube.com/@Katespastellife?si=p6kY3s8E-Oj5t5J-
this video is awesome, thank you for adressing this. i think that these so-called "Christians" who think that God would approve of them hating on people who He created to be perfect just as they are need to listen to the song Same Love by Macklemore. i think that he explained my point better than i could have. here are some lines that i think really prove it. "for those that like the same sex have the characteristics, the right-wing conservatives think it's a decision, and you can be cured with some treatment and religion, man-made rewiring of a pre-disposition, playing God, aw nah, here we go, America the brave still fears what we don't know, and "God loves all His children" is somehow forgotten, but we paraphrase a book written 3500 years ago" "if you preach hate at the service, those words aren't anointed, that holy water that you soak in has been poisoned, when everyone else is more comfortable remaining voiceless, rather than fighting for humans who have had their rights stolen, i might not be the same, but that's not important, no freedom til we're equal, damn right, i support it" "no law's gonna change us, we have to change us, whatever god you believe in, we come from the same one, strip away the fear, underneath it's all the same love, about time that we raised up" Jesus would be ashamed of people claiming that He wants them to hate people based on something that they cannot control. i am a proud non-binary lesbian, and no mean words on the internet are going to change who i am. stay strong, we got this. happy pride 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Huh, I’m surprised at the homophobia coming from this community. I used to be really into AG in 2016ish, so I guess things changed. I remember it being very pro-LGBT+, but I do also vaguely remember the homeschooled, sheltered, super Christian side of the fandom too. Interesting that AG attracts both groups.
I received backlash for a pride photo. Most people were incredibly supportive though. As a pro LGBTQ Christian people using their faith to promote bigotry really angers me.
Lmao I’d literally rather skewer out my own eyes than to “come to Christ” pfft I’m good homies. Also I love how so many Christians (I won’t dare say all because I do know plenty of lovely Christians who aren’t like this) say some “quit shoving it down our throats!!!” When they literally harass me at my place of work because they see me wearing a yarmulke and think this is an invitation for them to harass me to “accept Christ” or whatever other millions of arguments I’ve heard. Like, if your bloody job is getting people to come to Christ or to accept him or whatever, you’re doing the opposite. Wonder how that works for your religion… prolly not a good thing, no? Like let me live my life and practice my religion in peace. I really really have a distaste for those specific Christians who feel they have to “save” me. Like bro I’m good. I can’t vibe with a religion that allows hate and puts certain lives over others. It’s disgusting. I can’t jive with a religion that believes thoughts are inherently sinful, I have ocd I’d rather not have my intrusive thoughts become reason for me to “go to hell” or whatever. There’s a lot of Christians who have really made the entire Christian religion genuinely triggering to a lot of people.
I feel you. I'm fascinated by religion, cults, etc. I'm fascinated by the extent by which faith in something can guide people's decisions and interested in the way that faith and logic interact and the ways in which religion can (not saying always) discourage critical thinking. So I read and watch a fair amount about people's faith but I am personally wholeheartedly areligious. So messages telling me God approves of me and my love or that God condemns me...even though one is kind and the other is hateful, they're equally irrelevant to me on a personal level. The validity of my existence, identity, and love doesn't hinge on someone's religion.
@@agtakesover I agree with that tbh. I think it’s frustrating how there’s a wide assumption that everyone is religious, and most often it is assumed everyone is Christian. It’s wild how many people believe America to be a solely Christian nation and believe this religion is the end all be all and that’s why they think their argument about legal matters being determined by religious beliefs actually works. It’s silly and presumptuous.
Omg where are these AG community comments coming from?! I don’t watch many AG tubers and follow along with more of the fb groups but where are these crazy bigoted people coming from? The 1700s? This is why I live in a big liberal city… so I don’t have to deal with crazy hateful people like this on the regular. But the internet is on a whole other level.
I am jealous of the big city benefits. We love our home and we love being close to family (we're just north of Columbus) but we definitely live in a red suburb and it has been a mixed bag.
Your words have so much power and I am so proud of you, and will always be in your corner to support you❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️🌈
Thank you. I feel I've found a kindred spirit in you and I am very grateful our paths crossed :-)
@@agtakesover I feel the same way 🥰🥰
Yes, lots of Homophobia, it’s sad!
@@agtakesover thank you for a sweet comment! 😻
And of course as always, loved the dolls and the outfits!
M’y heart has no room for hate. I’m happy you are here and sharing a bit of your life with others. You are a lovely human. ❤
Thank you so much - what kind words!
Also, I just realized I was not subscribed to your channel but I fixed that ;-)
I just love all of the pride looks especially Royce's little overalls! Happy Pride!!!! Rainbows rock all year long!
Thanks! Those overalls really are the best!
How cool! I know I got the rainbow bobby pins secondhand from someone so I didn't know their origin. Glad you enjoyed their outfits :-)
I appreciate this video. We are all allies and/or part of the community in our household.
Thanks. I'm glad I made the video and I'm glad you're in this community (and I just subscribed to your channel ;-)
@@agtakesover thank you so much! It really means a lot!
I love the one with the pink tule skirt and yellow top! Oh...and those overalls are too cute!
Right?! The overalls outfit seems to be a favorite. I'll have to tell Nina from Small Scale Styles : -)
@@agtakesover thank you so much!
Hey ur doll's ŕ sooòo Beautiful ❤. And u dress them super fast😮.Love this video💗.

Thank you!
@@agtakesover ya that is messed up. It shouldn’t be hard to be a year round ally! Keep being you ❤️
Which channels said these things?
I've chosen not to post them here but if you email me (agtakesover@gmail.com) I can share that info.
Thank you so much for addressing this topic! I have a friend who is part of the lgbtq+ community and I just feel sad when I see post likes you mentioned. It is nice to see a positive pride post like this one!! I really enjoyed watching this.Happy pride month everyone, and just know there are people who love and support you!❤🏳️🌈
Thank you, and thanks for sharing the video!!
Period.
I cannot love your comments enough! Yes yes yes to everything you said!
Mad respect ✊
🌈You have the best dressed dolls for pride!
@@agtakesover Such a wonderful experience!
Thank you so much for addressing this issue. I’m a bisexual agtuber and it makes me really sad to see all of this homophobia in this community.
Of course! And btw, I just subbed to your channel :-)

I'm so sorry that you've encountered so much hatred lately. I've never understood people's need to butt into other's lives and think they can dictate how they live and who they love. On the plus side, all your dolls look amazing in their Pride clothes.
Ain't that the truth!?! (about people's judgment and the dolls looking amazing ;-)

Thank you so much! You always have such thoughtful, kind words and am so glad our paths crossed.
Not Logan in the sequin short shorts 💀 😂
ETA: But in all seriousness, thank you for making this video.
Thank you! I appreciate that.
The dolls all look amazing in their Pride Celebration outfits! I enjoy your videos so much and it makes me angry that you're being trolled. Keep your chin up and keep doing you!
My name is Debbie but I don't know how to change it in my account. LOL!
Thank you! Ppl's ability to dehumanize others in the name of their religion often baffles me.... and yes, the dolls *do* look great, don't they?

Take care! ❤

So excited for this video! The homophobia in the Ag community has absolutely disgusted me.
Perfectly put! And I would love to see a yearlong pride parade on AGIG. GayGIG, anyone?

@@agtakesover you’d be surprised what you’ll find
Also I hadn’t gotten to this part in the video yet, but thank you for mentioning me!
Aww, thank you so much. But look at what an outpouring of support. As surely as the hate is out there, so is the love
Thank you - for showing my dollies some love AND for understanding that bigotry is noone's friend.
Are there any list of these accounts? That way some of us won't accidentally subscribe/ support them? Maybe even have to clean out our own subscription.
I'm not posting it here, but you are welcome to email me (agtakesover@gmail.com)
I have no problem with people and their religions, until they start to pass judgment on others!!! Only a hypocrite would say: I don't hate you, but you will burn in hell unless you believe the same way I do!
100%!!
@@agtakesover Behaving in a hateful way is no less than hating!
Hi
Hi - funny to receive a comment on this today, as I'm working on editing this year's Pride video. 'Hope you're well!
@@agtakesover oh that’s cool 😅 I just wanna say that I have an ally and I do support the lgbtqia+ community I don’t celebrate pride though bc my fam is homophobic but I am not
Nice outfit choices LOVE WILL WIN
Thanks! I have to believe you're right. Some days it's harder to believe that than others, but in general I try to have that faith.
Thank you for addressing this!! ✨
Of course!! And thank you for speaking up. It warmed my heart to read your comments :-)
@@agtakesover thank you! ❤️
(Funny how it condemns pdf files and a lot of Christian authority figures are guilty of this but the Christians pretend it’s not a thing)
So that entire argument they make when pointing to their bible and shouting hatred is completely incorrect to begin with, it’s a mistranslation due to ignoring the context.
I loved reading each of your points. But you know it's that last paragraph that resonates most with me :-)
@@agtakesover yes. I think no matter how clear to them I am on that last point, they still think their statements matter to me or something.
Gay is not a choice some woman are only attracted to woman and some men are only attached to men. People do not choose it but even if they did it's not wrong to love someone.
That last part is most important to me... if not being straight *is* a choice, it's a valid one!
HAPPY PRIDE I am a Christian and my God is a loving God that loves ALL his children.
Thank you! I'm not religious but I do definitely know not all Christians share those bigoted views, and I am VERY grateful for that fact
I never had a chance to go :-(
Its completely inexcusable for people to be horrible just because you are being authentically you. It’s their loss. I love watching your videos and seeing your content as a fellow adult AG doll collector. Thank you for your voice and for being on AGtube!
Logan is gay in my Dollcave, too
Right?! I don't know why, but of our four boy dolls he's just the one that seems the most "loud and proud" to me.

Thank you! I'm sorry people's responses were so ugly. But I (and Logan) appreciate you!
HAPPY PRIDE!!!❤🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
I have far too many points I'd like to comment on, so instead of writing an essay I'm just going to say YES!
I'm glad other people have noticed this! People that I've followed for years all of sudden posting this awful nonsense.
Inspired by your outfits, your dolls look smashing, i must find/make some for my dolls 🤩
Happy pride ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Yes! Raising your children to be open-minded and *seek understanding* will be much more impactful. Thank you for doing that. On so many levels!
Now I need all of those pride shirts...my bank account is going to hate me.
On a more serious note, it makes me so sad that a community made of people who were ridiculed for their interests are now doing the same thing to people in their own community.
The shirts were reasonably priced, really. They shipped quickly and it was nice to be able to get several from one store.
They look amazing! Thank you speaking out against those homophobes.❤
Of course!! And thank you - the dolls look cuter than I ever do at pride lmao. (My look is definitely "function over fashion" as I try to avoid sunburns and migraines ;-)
You did an incredible job on this topic, Kristie! Your points were clear and educational, your admonitions fair, and I did discern a thread of real compassion in your counsel, despite the way you had been made to feel "less.than" 😢
I think that was a REAL example of Jesus!

Love you girl!! ❤
Thanks!! It always makes me smile knowing you've taken the time to watch one of these videos
Nellie's sweatshirt is repping the pan flag, though, she's spot on! It does look like she's gonna be super hot though...

Thanks for sharing - I'm not a religious person either way, but it certainly helps us non-believers when people who identify as Christians glean messages of love from their faith rather than messages of hate. Your dolls look adorable.

this video is awesome, thank you for adressing this. i think that these so-called "Christians" who think that God would approve of them hating on people who He created to be perfect just as they are need to listen to the song Same Love by Macklemore. i think that he explained my point better than i could have. here are some lines that i think really prove it.
"for those that like the same sex have the characteristics, the right-wing conservatives think it's a decision, and you can be cured with some treatment and religion, man-made rewiring of a pre-disposition, playing God, aw nah, here we go, America the brave still fears what we don't know, and "God loves all His children" is somehow forgotten, but we paraphrase a book written 3500 years ago"
"if you preach hate at the service, those words aren't anointed, that holy water that you soak in has been poisoned, when everyone else is more comfortable remaining voiceless, rather than fighting for humans who have had their rights stolen, i might not be the same, but that's not important, no freedom til we're equal, damn right, i support it"
"no law's gonna change us, we have to change us, whatever god you believe in, we come from the same one, strip away the fear, underneath it's all the same love, about time that we raised up"
Jesus would be ashamed of people claiming that He wants them to hate people based on something that they cannot control.
i am a proud non-binary lesbian, and no mean words on the internet are going to change who i am. stay strong, we got this. happy pride 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
I love that song! And you are right… no mean words, well intentioned or not, will change who you are. Nor should they.
Yeah, it definitely seems to attract both of those groups.
I received backlash for a pride photo. Most people were incredibly supportive though. As a pro LGBTQ Christian people using their faith to promote bigotry really angers me.
That sucks. I'm sorry your kindness warranted backlash in some ppl's eyes.
Such cute outfits!!!
Thanks! They really need their own parade :-)
Nelly’s sweatshirt is giving pansexual pride
Right?! I love it!
