I'm pretty sure that "dungeon" you guys found, is the stronghold. There's a few mods that re-make the layout of the stronghold and make it more interesting, and make it have more loot.
pro tip from someone whose played a 36 mod horror pack, stuff should happen till day 3-4, usually. also under the lava wells there is a chest and pls ad the graveyard pack :)
