My old man started his building apprenticeship in 1953. He always said there would never be a machine that could lay bricks.
How wrong he was................ somebody in Western Australia has invented a robot that can lay them faster and more accurately than humans.
The days of the Brickie are numbered.............they will probably be still needed for BBQs, decorative work and small jobs.
Then there is a machine for laying brick paved roadways.............the bricks are put into a feeder hopper on top and come out in a 6 to 8 metre wide square herringbone pattern at the bottom.
Recently, I saw a 3D Printer that pours concrete walls.
It is incredible what they have invented.

I suspect that even under medium wind load that pointing will within five years largely separate, disintegrate, and drop out.😅

It looked like a hydraulic driven quick-cut saw. That type of blade is different to a circular saw blade for cutting timber. They are the same as a brick saw blade and do not cut you.
The way they cut brick and concrete is totally different to how a circular saw blade for cutting wood works.
A circular saw blade for wood has sharpened tungsten tips for 'cutting' the wood.
A brick saw blade has segments made from industrial diamonds set into a compound. These blades 'abrade' the brick and concrete........ much like how sandpaper works on timber.

People used to say to me all the time, "that looks dangerous" when wet cutting bricks.
They would not believe it was not until they were shown.
We used to wear dish washing gloves as they were the best for preventing birds eyes.
You could put the back of your hand against the running blade and it would do nothing to you.
It is nothing like your arm would be severed if you tripped and fell against the running running blade......... provided all the segments are still attached to the blank.
Try a boolean search to find anyone who has lost body parts using one of these blades on a construction job.........they are nothing like a chainsaw or circular saw blade.............
They are also different to a multicutter wheel and the blades used to cut aluminium........ which are just as lethal as a circular saw blade for timber.

Okay, there is a Canadian documentary called "Sand Wars". It is here on RUclips.
How sand is naturally made is actually quite complex. If I remember correctly, the grains of sand begin life in mountain streams and take thousands of years before they end up in the ocean. The ocean floor only has a thin covering layer of sand in some parts.................it is not an infinite resource.
The grains of sand in the ocean, compared to the grains of sand in a desert are a different shape, the ocean sand is squarish and sharp, whereas the desert sand grains are rounded and smooth.......... which is why it was not used to create those artificial islands in Dubai.......... and it is not normally used to make concrete.
It is not so much about the cement powder they are worried about........... it is the amount of sand that is used to make concrete that is the issue.
Sand Wars is a great documentary........it is one of the best I have seen, but I work in construction, so find it interesting.......... the other is Blue Gold: the world water wars.
The modern compounds in this video look grey like concrete, but might not contain a lot of Portland cement, which is a compound of Lime, Clay and Fly Ash.

No. That is not correct. The blade on these 'abrades' the concrete, whereas the blade on a wood circular saw has sharpened teeth that 'cut' the wood.
A brick saw blade works the same way that sandpaper does on wood or car body filler. You cannot cut a piece of timber in half with sandpaper in an electric sander, can you?
I have cut tens of thousands of bricks using a segmented diamond blade. It is a totally different concept to the blade on a circular saw used for cutting wood.........they will not cut off both your legs.
