God Damn. That’s just beautiful. Full respect goes to anyone who had anything to do with this piece of art.

The idea of running a big cube v8 is for longevity between tear down/inspections and consistency. This runs gas but if they had turbocharged it the thing would not get traction. Rotaries and small cube stuff is not as consistent, not as easy to get down the track and requires more maintenance.

Would be nice to see the time card / display even. personally , I'm amazed he got it fitting between the frame rails on that LC. Even Holden 308's have a hard time fitting in to Torana LC / LJ's ..

Just saw this, Mark Hayes did he have a beautiful red lj Torana that was on the front of Street Machine in the early 90s?
    Because that thing was exquisite.

The qtr mile numbers that these power assisted ricer engines are running nowadays is a really big deal for them. But V8s have been running these numbers and quicker and doing it without a lot of difficulty for decades. The reason V8s are still around is they are relatively quite easy to make huge power with (top fuel engine make est.10,000 hp for example, Formula One cars are V8 powered too for more reliability). Simple as that. Bigger engine capacity equals potentially bigger hp with relatively easy effort. Way more know how and effort is needed to make a ricer engine match V8 performance numbers. So kudos to those running ricer engines cos they making the most with such small engines. Whatever floats your boat, we are all petrol heads having fun with cars no matter what kind of car u happen to drive.

Not a patch on the SM Motorsports LJ 202 carby turbo sedan. it makes 500 ... yes 500 rwhp. 800 pounds feet of torque. Daily driven and still does 175mph through the chase!!!!

They aren't normally two speed but can be built that way. Stronger than a Powerglide in a two speed configuration

Rotor has something like 160 CI. I would be embarrassed if a car with an engine about 1/5th the size came anywhere near this thing.
