    Great video on arm structure. How much do you use your arms in the swing vs letting the legs and hips drive the arms?

      Pivot drives for the most part!

    The H&M team rocks it. Top shelf training. I train with a teathered ball everyday to warm up. Question: (seeing the dirt ground between your feet) is taking a divot important? I rarely take a divot. Might be the hard rock Colorado municipal courses that have trained me to avoid hitting the ground.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 года назад

      Not a necessity. Henry tends to take bigger divots than myself and we actually are trying to shallow that out a bit. Sweeping is a good lifestyle =).

    Makes sense. But I use high hands lift at the top - no fear of getting off plane. But, oddly, every now and then I run into a little guy that pins the right elbow like Hogan yet hit it a good long way - the rare exception to the rule (and how that works I don’t know). But from this video I note the higher the right elbow is raised the steeper the shoulders seem to tend to be in the backswing. (Getting the shoulders steeper in the backswing seems to be the new thing golf gurus are talking about. I will say bending at the waist a good amount and maintaining that spine angle 📐 also helps create steeper shoulders in the backswing. So doing both a higher right elbow lift and maintaining spine angle in the backswing seems to be a “good thing” if steeper shoulders in the backswing is what you’re looking to get. But I note that putting a ball between your arms as demonstrated here is a good way to train to keep the right forearm directed down even though you’re lifting the right elbow away from the torso for higher hands and other benefits I already mentioned.)
    Enough said.
    Always a good lesson on this channel.

      Thanks for watching Billy! Anatomical differences could be a part of it as well. I have long arms compared to my height where as Henry's are shorter in comparison. Could also account for our different arm structures at the top of the swing.

    So confusing through the years hearing "stay connected" but then seeing great players with high hand positions at the top...thanks for an excellent explanation on what happens past hip height

    Hi Guys. Hogan said to start the swing by pointing the trail arm to the trail hip. This creates a nice secondary tilt at setting up to the ball, He also said that the swing begins with the hand; arms and then shoulders. So once a golfer is set in their correct golf posture; they need to first and foremost become aware of their body’s shoulders limited circular range of motion of 20 degrees each. So that as they are swinging their club their shoulders never exceed or diminish their range of motion within their sockets.
    As far as the elbows go they can only follow the limited circular motion of the shoulders. Think about it.
    At 74 my golf swing has improved tremendously since becoming absolutely aware of the limited degrees of my shoulders have at turning. And I must report that the stupid notion taught by the PGA over the years that a good golfers shoulders are turning 90 degrees or more in the backswing is what have really have messed me up the most. Cheers

    Really appreciate the video. After videoing my swing for the first time in many years, I see that I have lots of lead arm rotation and trail arm fold above shaft parallel, which I think is making me a "flippy" and inconsistent ball striker. Can the structure ball help with these issues later in the backswing? Thanks!

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 года назад

      Yes, I'd recommend incorporating it slowly with exaggerated motion. No need to hit the balls hard with it right off the bat.

    Big question/secret! Do the arms load the body or does the body load the arms,Ive done both badly! The Key word is loading ( or activating/igniting) Most golfers either load and fire the arms without loading the body (good speed but can co all over the place esp under pressure) or load the body, but just swing floppy arms hoping they work automatically if they add connection they can consistently hit it straight but no distance.Now ive got down to 3hcp,thanks Milo, i feel that my body moves fractionally early with my arms slightly resisting and loading,i feel this in my elbows and inside my left shoulder! You yanks should be good at this!,surely this is what youve been doing in baseball since you were knee high.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 года назад

      From the 3D captures I’ve seen the energy created by the body loads the arms in almost all high level swings.

    Hi Milo, I have a quick question if I may, I live in NY so the weather plays a part in my golf game ,,Winter lol! When I take time off from practicing and I go to the range I'm not a big stretch warm guy but after around 100 ,150 shot the next day my right arm ,my forearm and part of bicep is very sore and tight, it's not the elbow it on the inner part of the arm the muscles, the question is why is this happening ?? Too much arm swing and not enough rotation?? Thank you for your videos outstanding!!

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 года назад

      I've seen some good things done with it, yes. A lot of great training aids out there, it just depends what your goal is with them and if you know to slow down and exaggerate motions enough to get the best out of them. The ones I promote are strictly ones that I have vetted and incorporate in my coaching in-person and online in our academy at milolinesgolf.com.
